I have never cried in this game until that dream scene. Literally everything was perfect, but i think the beautiful soft music is what really hits you because it just fits so perfectly with everything that is playing out on screen.

I’m not the type of guy to get too emotional easily but man the furina’s death and neuvi crying and this dream quest were the only ones that put tears to my eyes 🥺
It's weird. I didn't realize how much I cared for these characters until the travelers sibling showed up and it hit me so hard emotionally. Good lord they got me with that.
I mean let the rewards be damned but the reason why I still play genshin no matter what is because of how Invested Iam with the lore and stories of characters. Its like another world for me and tbh its my comfort game. This xianyun story reminded me of those reasons 😢🎉 beautiful quest

I'm most familiar with JP/EN dubs so I have trouble to immerse myself in the story when I hear all these unfamiliar voices, but your pure emotional reactions more than make up for it, thank you, it becomes harder and harder to find such pure souls. A most delightful experience

Im not asian...obviously. But this just hit too close to home for me as well. Like my mother is a very affectionate person but shes also tough so the things that cloud retainer said are things my mother doesnt say. Another thing. Xianyun is so interesting to me because i LOVE the mentor/mother character she is because if you think about it Genshin doesnt really show families. Like there are siblings and a few characters with parents but you rarely see it addressed, especially not to this extent. I told my sister who i play the game with that for some reason almost every Genshin character is single and childless😅. I know like half of them are children but that is just to say you don't see them interact with their own social/familial relationships often which is why i think i loved this quest so much.
The cutscene was so bittersweet, it was adorable seeing them together but the traveler actually crying for the first time, and knowing it’s not real was so heartbreaking :((

@whinnaay Mt. Tianheng is where Shenhe and Chongyun are from. It's highly likely that Yuandai's Husband was an Exorcist hailing from the same family. Which, if that's true, that means Shuyu is related to both Shenhe and Chongyun. If we take age into account, I believe Shuyu would be the same generation as Chongyun. Which would make Shenhe her Aunt since Shenhe is Chongyun's Aunt. Given where we and Dvorak met Yaoyao, I'm inclined to believe that Yaoyao and her parents hail from Qingce Village. "Wangshu Inn isn't really a place you can hide." Girrrrrrl... have you already forgotten who owns and operates Wangshu Inn? You can ABSOLUTELY hide at Wangshu Inn if you need to. For the "Good Guys," Wangshu Inn is probably one of the best places to hide. The only place equally as good, if not better, off the top of my head is Dawn Winery. Although, I imagine you can disappear fairly well at Al-Haitham's and Kaveh's House. And then in Fontaine we have the Fortress of Meropide. I'm willing to bet that Rizzly can make anything and anyone disappear down there. Not too sure about Inzauma though. It's rather difficult to hide there. Maybe Naganohara Fireworks? Yoimiya is pretty good at the whole "Underground Railroad" thing. But yeah, of all the places we've been so far, if I need to hide, Wangshu Inn is my first stop. Ain't nobody going to question too much at a place guarded by Xiao. And even if they do get by him, the aforementioned owner of Wangshu Inn will squash them immediately. The monsters weren't attracted to Yuandai because she spent so much time with Cloud Retainer. It was because the Pills were created with Cloud Retainer's Blood. Yuandai, literally, ingested Cloud Retainer's Blood. It was Cloud Retainer's Blood inside Yuandai that was sustaining her life. That same blood, tainted with God Remains from the Archon War, is what attracted the monsters to Yuandai.
thank you so much!!! all of it was just a lot in the moment, being able to relate so deeply with every character: Yuandai for suffering in shame and silence for her love despite not seeing any way out, Xianyun for helping from a distance even though she must have wanted to get closer, Shuyu and her begging to not say goodbye, and even the Traveller with wanting that sweet dream to keep going no matter how unrealistic … it reminded me a lot of the struggles in my own life but i think that’s the power of an amazing story, to be able to take what we see in fiction and apply the learnings IRL. thank you again for your kind words ❤️❤️

If my understanding's are correct and if the cultivation thing in genshin is similar to the rules of cultivation in xianxia stories of CN. Then it means that through continuously absorbing the pure energy from nature, an animal can gain sentience and with the help of proper cultivation to enlightenment. Once strong enough, they can become an adepti and turn into any forms they would want.

The Siblings cutscene hitted hard like a gun shotting at my heart. It hurts cuz thats what the Traveller's yearn for, and WE players yearns for😭
