I just got 3 of these skeins at my hobby lobby on clearance! I was blown away that there was still clearance yarn and it's almost the middle of July! Got these babies for $5.74/piece and I needed this for the basket project I'm doing for my mother. I've never worked with this type of yarn before, but I'm finding it to be easier than expected. I'm so beyond happy that you've created what I want with exactly what I bought! Only difference is I'm making it larger, so continuing to increase almost twice the circumference. Beyond grateful for you and this tutorial. Thank you and happy crocheting!
I just bought this yarn in the color jungle because a woman walked up to me and literally put 2 skeins in my arms at hobby lobby … $5.74 per skein, marked down from $21.99. How could I not! Never used or heard of this yarn before and had no idea what to make…this basket is adorable!! Thanks so much for the super easy to follow tutorial! Look, it’s still helping people 2 yrs later lol
@@Claudia948 If you use the same yarn that I used, Yarn Bee Turin in Sandstone, you will use less than half of one skein. The skein was a massive 17.6 ounces. I made the basket shown, plus a second smaller one and still have quite a bit left of the same skein! If you use a different brand of #6 super bulky/chunky you might need two of the smaller skeins. Enjoy!
I FINALLY understand how to do the magic circle! It figures, of course. That it would be a completely separate tutorial, for me to get it!? Haha! Thanks! Cassandra
This is a fantastic pattern and I’m so excited that I have some gorgeous chunky yarn with this basket’s name on it 😀 Thank you so much for sharing this 🥰🥰
Love this, Just finished it. If I wanted to make this smaller or larger how would I go about doing the beginning rounds as you have done it a bit differently than others and I really like the way you do this. Thank you Sylvia, two of your projects down, MANY more to go. Have a wonderful day!
Hi Di. It makes me so happy to hear you like my designs/tutorials! To make this same basket in a smaller size simply work the rounds until the bottom is the size you want. Then sl st to join and continue with the pattern exactly the same to build up the body.. Easy!
I'm so sorry I missed this comment. I only today found it, 2 months later. I hope you were able to make the basket. Let me know how it turned out. My basket does stand on its own if put in place and left alone. It can collapse if it is empty and manhandled. LOL!
Really cute. One question Sylvia, I see you say how much yarn needed in weight ( ounces). In future videos would you be able to give us an estimate of the yardage needed?
Hello. The detail is always in the description area. You need to click "See More" or the little arrow. #6 super bulky; Yarn Bee Turin ; Color Sandstone; (8 oz of 17.6 oz skein) Thank you for watching!
Very easy to follow, clear and simple . THANKS
Thank you so much!

What a great comment! And what a deal! I'm so glad you found my basket so you can use your yarn. Enjoy!
This is one of the most clear tutorials I have watched! I’m going to make a tonne of these. Thank you!
Yay! I'm so glad you found it helpful. Thank you so much for letting me know. Enjoy!
I really love this basket. Thank you for a well explained video and for teaching me how to do the crab stitch.
You are very welcome! So happy you like it. The crab stitch is so cool but so easy, right?
Yes! I've just been looking online for the yarn you used to buy some and make one just like it. Would 2 packs be enough ? Thanks

Hey, whatever works! It took me lots of trial and error before I got it. Enjoy!

Yay! That makes me so happy to know someone is excited for this. I had so much fun with this one!
This is cute. I really like the fringe finish. Thankyou for sharing, Sylvia :)
Thank you! Yep, I have a thing for fringe. LOL
Lovely, I just wish we could get hold of the yarns in the uk that you have in the us!
Thank you so much. I'm sure this would work with a substitute yarn. It would need to be an ombre type and #6 super bulky.
Love it!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much! Hope you get a chance to try it.

Oh yea!! I know where I'm going today! Hobby Lobby to buy me some of this great yarn and start on my basket. Does it stand on its on?

Will do!
😍😍😍👍
Thank you!
I like this. Could it work with a cotton yarn? Yours looks like wool.
So glad you like it! The yarn I used is 10% wool; mostly acrylic. The important thing is to use a #6 yarn for the heft.
Thickness of yarn?
