Making a new account or throwing games to purposefully play at lower ranks or boost teammates is smurfing. This isn’t. Mechanically I play much better than this at GC1 but Squishy’s quality of touches, reads, and game sense is so much higher than your average player.
This isnt smurfing. He’s creating a series a working his way up through the ranks. If it was smurfing he would purposely stay low ranked to beat people. Stop being so upset.

Been playing since 2015 and never really got past diamond 1. I'm not young (reactions aren't as good as they used to be!) and play keyboard only - yes, no controller. However, many of the tips here can totally improve my game. Not committing early, using the walls - particularly the backboard - and recovery speed are easily the biggest three. How many goals were aerials with high skill? A few, yes, but I'm never likely to master that. Everything else is within reach. Thanks Squishy!

@1:20 how do you get those touches in the air without the car wobbling after the touch? Usually when I get a touch my car will tilt backwards or awkward that makes it harder for me to follow up.
You have to get the touch in the air first, and then right after u jump without pressing any other movement so u dont tilt, just practice a lot in free play, you'll get it eventually just takes practice.
You need to hit the ball at the angle the ball is going towards (think of this angle as a straight line, or 180 degrees). If done correctly, your car won't experience any recoil from hitting the ball. Without recoil, you won't need to readjust your car with your left thumbstick, allowing you to smoothly continue the air dribble. If you hit the ball at an angle where the ball is not going (anything that is not 180 degrees), then your car will experience recoil, but at this point it is still possible to continue an air dribble if you correct the position of your car using air roll. With this in mind, it's easier to understand why pros will say the "first touch" on a ball is the most important, because if the "first touch" is perfectly aligned, then you won't need to readjust your car with air roll.
Two things i can tell u, its about getting use to control the car so u will now to move it forward or backwards. And another thing that i think will help is pressing the air roll boton all the time, the car is easier to control like that, and i mean the air roll, not left or right, the normal one
Yo squishy I just wanted to say that I love your content and that you have always helped me improve and increase my love for the game, if you read this just know you are a big part of my life and while I’m fasting for Ramadan your videos help me pass the time
One reason why you didn't find any of the diamonds or Champs that have these dream mechanics is because you didn't spend enough time there. Yes, their mechanics are not GC/SSL/ Pro. But those that are able to pull off some decent awesome freestyle mechanics in lower ranks, it usually works in their favor. They get into a match with a lower rank team, and they find themselves with the opportunity to shine those mechanics. Also with inconsistent low rank players, it gives these guys with a low rank a decent chance to shine.. They're are diamonds/ Champs that you mentioned having decent mechanics that you havent seen, but they come maybe 1/10 matches... for me. Loves your music... this!!! I appreciate you so much doing this. I have watched about 4th/5th time now. ( different videos at different times ). Since of the people that watch you are not pro, like myself.... I believe there are people that would like to see you climb these ranks at a similar pace as them, ( like 5mmr ) per win / lose. Being pro, and retiring..., what is the loss? The Rocket League game itself in general may step up several ranks just because you decided to dedicate and spend more detail time at each and individual rank.
Even though you don’t air role, your touch off the wall is perfect. Your flip following into that is spot on leading to full control every time. Highly unlikely a c3 will be doing this just sayin. Something to strive for though so thank you. Love you squishy!
Squishy you break the opponent's spirits with the speed and consistency of your touches and plays then they don't try as hard - try winning by only 1 goal - that should make it a lot more interesting.

Dont know why im still yapping but yeah gonna fall asleep to this video love your shit man
Hope you're doing well squishy, been watching since i got this game in 2018, i don't play anymore and I've changed a lot during these years. Im glad i can always come back to your channel to have a great time. Take care
idk what it is but i’ve been in champ for 2 solid years now up and down and i’ve seen many be able to flip reset and also have the decency to look for a teammate in a passing play for 2v2s
I think some more decision making mid play commentary would be helpful. I think you’re too stuck on trying to see where they are mechanically before you can start doing it yourself, which isn’t much help. Talk more about how their positions change as they play and you rank up. Example at 3:13 why did you stop from going wall side with it or from just banging it on net or far side? I understand it was because the defender was holding the right wall but not everyone would understand why you do what you do when you do it. I’ll edit more examples as I see it. Example at 7:40 when he passes it to his team mate for the shot, how come you didn’t jump and contest the shot on net and instead waited for his shot despite knowing your teammate was ahead of you? Example at 12:05 with that save cleared , how come you dished it high middle when you could’ve played it right side in the direction where your teammate was heading? Couldn’t he have got corner boost and had free field control or was it better to slow the game down and dish them a pass while you recover for boost?
Wow. I've played 60 games and can't get into plat. I do like the advice you give as you play (if the ball is on the ground, and they are far away....let it come to you, etc). Appreciate your talent and this series. Thanks!
Save a couple replays and watch them, compare what you do to what squishy does. You'll see everything you do wrong. Then you'll make some adjustments, your rank will probably go down a bit. It'll look scary but it'll go back up. Keep playin and trust the process you will definitely hit plat.
Your content is really enjoyable, thanks for that man! You should record some tutorials on how to do these touches for ground to air dribbles, and when you touch the ball upside down from your backboard. It will be really useful for us in lower ranks (plat / diamond / champ)
What you said at 8:30 is the secret everyone needs to get out of diamond. They don’t respect you reaching the ball first and will challenge. Look for a touch around them and it’s an easy outplay
Is there a video that explains the pop 1:29 here really well? I feel like my car goes all places or bounces off the ball weirdly when i try that... Is there a video that sais EXACTLY what to press/do ?
So far I have learned by watching this series is, you need at least 6 years of knowledge to be 98% consistent to get above champion. No mechanics needed just consistency.
17500 hours divided by 3285 (approximation of days since RL release) equates to 5.3 hours PER day and thats if you dont miss a single day... This dude lives on rocket league...
The hard part about that pop is getting your car lined up properly with the ball before you get the touch and after it’s in the air. Also getting the proper touch
If you try (I know it's difficult for you) to make your 1st touches a little less perfect, you might be able to "blend in" with the rank better. You are keeping mechanics, usually, to the rank but your first touches are always perfect which makes any follow up you do always good. I like watching that though, gives me something to work towards. This series have made me focus way more on my first touches.
Bet you won’t read this comment! In all seriousness though, this series is a great help. I recently tried out for my high school’s rocket league esports team. However, I’m pretty bad at the game, I peak at about mid plat range. I tried out thinking it would be a unique experience and I wouldn’t make it, but then they decided to let everyone join. To make things worse, only 3 people tried out in week 1. There are 2 more days of tryouts this week, but it’s looking like I would be at worst B team. Playing with champs for teammates, I need a way to quickly improve that doesn’t require me to sit in free play practicing mechanics. After all, the last thing I want to do is hold the team back. This series has specifically highlighted how to improve without being a mechanics god, so thank you so much, and I hope to put it into practice!
Squishy, love the videos and hope you read this one! On the vid with the toxic player, I wish you would say something nicely (or not since they are being toxic). But if they are being toxic, put them in their place. You know exactly what they are doing wrong and can maybe learn😂

It literally makes no fucking sense they got so triggered that you accidentally messed something up that they'll mess it up on purpose. Total mind fuck

Loving this series! Love the added challenge of you copying mechanics are you see them unlocking more and more of your world class skill set and the difficulty of keeping the rest of your knowledge at bay.
Hi Squishy, I've watched you since I started rl back in 2016, and I'm gc1 rn. And I'm glad you're coming down and showing us how to play. As higher ranks can be hard to copy, I hit gc2 in season 11. And I remember watching you at worlds and being so happy when you won back in season 6, I believe it was. I watch nearly every video, I don't usually comment, but you got me into rl, and now I do youtube and have got a decently good-sized audience and just wanted to say thanks for everything, I've followed you from muffin men, cloud 9, nrg and now content creation for rule 1. Your my favorite player no doubt. ❤

smurfing is the biggest problem of rl ...exactly what this is
smurfing is not the biggest problem of rl..
If you really think rl has a huge problem in smurfing ur just coping tbh, even though smurfing is a problem, you think that is what is holding u back?
Making a new account or throwing games to purposefully play at lower ranks or boost teammates is smurfing. This isn’t. You can make a new account if you’re intending to play to your full ability and rank up to where you should be. Not only that, but he’s dumbing his mechanics way down.
Cry get good I enjoy making low gcs and champs cry just get good😂
Yesss longer videos little by little, love this little series!
I love that squishy always breaks down the game in a way that allows people to learn from every video, even when he’s playing in SSL
I think you misspelled "Leth" in your comment 🤔 this is more of a smurf gameplay with commentary rather than something that anyone on a given rank can learn something from...

Hey squishy. When you were in plat no one's playing power slides and patience like your video suggests lol
Dear Squishy! I never commented on your videos before, but I feel like it's time. :) I followed your videos since you won with Cloud9. I always looked up at your mentality in the game. The fact that you say "good try", when other people rage on their teammates for a miss is the most respectable attitude I can imagine. I'm really happy that we have players like you. It was a pleasure to follow your RLCS journey, you are the real GOAT of Rocket League. Also thank you for the content, I'm really enjoying this series. All the best, a 31 year old C2. :)

The highest rank I’ve been was plat 2 the reason being I try to do what you do but my execution is poor, probably due to using stock button layout but it’s what I find most comfortable. But you showing the mechanics gives me a better understanding of what to do in situations I’m in. Like the series tbh since it shows the competitiveness of the game and gives me insight of what to do. Ngl you taught me how to drift more properly while using boost
Always making it look so easy. This motivates me to play until I'm hit with reality. Squishy is built different.

This is the best series to watch on RUclips for rocket league if your ever stuck in a rank or having trouble admit o a new one just watch and pay attention when he’s playing in your rank and apply those skills to your game. It’s free coaching from one of the best rocket league players in the world. Great Job Squishy it’s definitely been helping me out!
@@carlos777uk yeah I around diamond 1 range too and it’s so easy to see why I was doing wrong and how easier is to play safe and simplify everything, it’s a perfect series to watch for lower ranked players.
@@carlos777ukHow old are you?
@1:20 how do you get those touches in the air without the car wobbling after the touch? Usually when I get a touch my car will tilt backwards or awkward that makes it harder for me to follow up.
someone pls respond to him. I'm also waiting for the answer to that
You have to get the touch in the air first, and then right after u jump without pressing any other movement so u dont tilt, just practice a lot in free play, you'll get it eventually just takes practice.
A lot of players tend to jump a millisecond right after, but wait about half a sec and then jump.
I'd love to hear you talk more about flip cancels, what they're for and any tips for learning them.
SquishyMuffinz Makes the best videos! I like how he calls his plays, it makes it so he can coach us during his videos. keep up the good work!
Even though you don’t air role, your touch off the wall is perfect. Your flip following into that is spot on leading to full control every time. Highly unlikely a c3 will be doing this just sayin. Something to strive for though so thank you. Love you squishy!
Squishy you break the opponent's spirits with the speed and consistency of your touches and plays then they don't try as hard - try winning by only 1 goal - that should make it a lot more interesting.
hey squishy I know you probably won't see this but I've been watching your videos on and off since 2018 and yeah just wanted to say I love your videos and I barely even play rocket league but your videos are so relaxing, never stop uploading i legit fall asleep to these videos. I play rl on console and im like diamond but yeah im just fascinated by the effortless ball control rocket league pros have. Ive been champion on r6 and pretty good on most games but rocket league is most definitely the hardest game to get good at.

I like these series a lot, haven’t been watching but then i saw the road and ssl and started playing again
its intresting to see what consistence can do in normal stuff and how much it pushes you forward :D
Absolutely loved today’s games bro! This is generally my rank so I rly like to see this type of commentary
It would be nice if you could explain your positioning and how you get into the spots where your mechs can shine.
Wow. I've played 60 games and can't get into plat. I do like the advice you give as you play (if the ball is on the ground, and they are far away....let it come to you, etc). Appreciate your talent and this series. Thanks!
Playing 60 games and not being plat is 100% normal
Save a couple replays and watch them, compare what you do to what squishy does. You'll see everything you do wrong. Then you'll make some adjustments, your rank will probably go down a bit. It'll look scary but it'll go back up. Keep playin and trust the process you will definitely hit plat.

Your content is really enjoyable, thanks for that man! You should record some tutorials on how to do these touches for ground to air dribbles, and when you touch the ball upside down from your backboard. It will be really useful for us in lower ranks (plat / diamond / champ)
I love the series man, and I have learned a lot
What you said at 8:30 is the secret everyone needs to get out of diamond. They don’t respect you reaching the ball first and will challenge. Look for a touch around them and it’s an easy outplay
these series are so fucking enjoyable to watch, as a champ player ive learned so much from it also
Is there a video that explains the pop 1:29 here really well? I feel like my car goes all places or bounces off the ball weirdly when i try that... Is there a video that sais EXACTLY what to press/do ?

do you play with cross-platform play enabled?
the way you play literally explains that you dont have to be so mechanically at the game as long as you play smart you can be the best

Thanks squishy for this series!
Lol c1 noob
He recorded the "unranked to GC" section of this series in one session - so, even if you did, there was no way for you to know you run in to him (:
Okay jay lol
Good point man
So far I have learned by watching this series is, you need at least 6 years of knowledge to be 98% consistent to get above champion. No mechanics needed just consistency.
17500 hours divided by 3285 (approximation of days since RL release) equates to 5.3 hours PER day and thats if you dont miss a single day... This dude lives on rocket league...
love watching a video , getting the urge to play thinking "i can do that" let me tell you. i can not do that lol.
The hard part about that pop is getting your car lined up properly with the ball before you get the touch and after it’s in the air. Also getting the proper touch
the best part of this series is demonstrating the day to day toxicity that the average player experiences in solo queue.
