Why does everyone hate Akainu? Why do they demonize him and insult him. If your town was destroyed, your family killed or abused by pirates, then you would quickly change your opinion of someone like him. You need to understand that your average regular pirate is *WORSE* than someone like Blackbeard. Pirates are are just thieves, hedonists and violent men. At least someone like blackbeard has an ambition and reason for the things he does The marines protect the fragile and weak world from pirates. Crews like the strawhats and redhair pirates are an EXCEPTION, not the norm. Of all the Big battles and all the people Luffy has helped and freed on his journey, how many of them were against the marines? And how many were against other pirates? The world government is the real enemy. If you pay attention to the show, you will see that even Akainu hates the world government. Ever since he took charge he has been fighting and arguing with them constantly. Akainu wants to free the world from the tyranny of pirates. The WG wants to keep the status quo and their power over the oceans. People might use the example of Ohara to justify Akainu as a bad guy. But that was decades ago, maybe he was just naive and believed in the WG back then. Maybe the pain of his past was still fresh in his heart, which caused him to make those quesionable decisions. If he was given the same order today to destroy an island, simply because the WG said so. Do you think he would agree? You only need to look at the current relationship between the WG and current marines to know the answer. I believe Akainu is someone very important and a future ally in the fight for freedom; for the dawn of the world. As Luffy attacks from the outside, Akainu will be the one to attack from the inside, he will execute a Coup d'état from within the WG
