Of all the Big battles and all the people Luffy has helped and freed on his journey, how many of them were against the marines? And how many were against other pirates? The world government is the real enemy. If you pay attention to the show, you will see that even Akainu hates the world government. Ever since he took charge he has been fighting and arguing with them constantly. Akainu wants to free the world from the tyranny of pirates. The WG wants to keep the status quo and their power over the oceans. People might use the example of Ohara to justify Akainu as a bad guy. But that was decades ago, maybe he was just naive and believed in the WG back then. Maybe the pain of his past was still fresh in his heart, which caused him to make those quesionable decisions. If he was given the same order today to destroy an island, simply because the WG said so. Do you think he would agree? You only need to look at the current relationship between the WG and current marines to know the answer. I believe Akainu is someone very important and a future ally in the fight for freedom; for the dawn of the world. As Luffy attacks from the outside, Akainu will be the one to attack from the inside, he will execute a Coup d'état from within the WG
