    THANK YOU for bringing the “FASHION INDUSTRY” panels and organizations to your viewers--It’s important to understand FASHION is so much more than “DESIGNER THIS and DESIGNER THAT”--We need to also understand the presence of Black people behind the scene, not everyone needs to be in front of the camera!!!!

    Enjoyed the video. Your humor is everything. Hang on to it. You had me LOL about picking Carlos up from the airport. That’s why I am that girl when I get picked up. I keep the person picking me up posted every minute from the time we can turn on our phones. Yes people are questioning Beyoncé on her hair care products when she never shows her hair. Not even getting it washed.

      He was stressing me out in the round about airport thing ! Lmao. But i think we should give the marketing and exposure of Beys hair a little more time. It’s such a new brand. She’s already done a few things differently and yall will get an honest review from me on Wednesday 👀

    Hi Carolyn you said some profound things during the panels. If they don’t like the fact that you are there it’s their loss. They need to realize that God has placed you there. Also, leading with kindness with everyone. People always remember how you make them feel. We are definitely lifelong learners. We can learn from everyone.❤

    Re Cecred, I've been chatting to a cosmetic chemist and they are EXCITED about the ingredients in this brand. She described it as 'Oribe for black people' - so I'm definitely intrigued. Also the website is changing every day and actually shows a wide range of hair types close-up and instead of using the numbers system, it uses words to describe, which I think makes a lot of sense. Also, if you buy it let us know cause the shipping and taxes to the UK is a LOT. My friend paid £60 in shipping alone.

She is giving facts and coming with receipts and I respect her so much for sharing her story. I have watched the whole thing and let me just tell you she is a better woman than I could ever be because the way she kept her cool and handle certain situations, would not be me because I would be in jail seriously...... Not even playing. So love her for that, love her for keeping her integrity and her grace throughout All of that. And I love that she said if she could just help one person it was all worth it, that's just so beautiful.

    The conversation in regards Bey's marketing as it relates to skin tones and hair types is interesting. We as Black folk buy brands that have never had any person that looked like us in their campaigns(or very few inconsistently) yet we still continue to buy from them. Not only that but these companies also don't have any Black folk in decision making positions or the c-suite. I guess I understand folks undies getting in a bunch about Bey but not really as it seems a little hypocritical. My two cents that you didn't need to ask for..lol lol lol.

    Thanks for sharing the panel. Interesting convo. B is so controversial. Some think she can do no wrong and some hate anything she does. She could sneeze and some would find it fake or annoying 😂 I’m skeptical of ALL celeb brands. I’ll wait to hear some reviews before purchasing but I do think that this venture makes the most sense out of all of her previous ventures given her close proximity to hair dressers. I say embrace the partnership. Highlight the experts (stylist, scientist, etc) that you worked with on product development. Were they black 👀 How many years of research, etc. I also agree with the concerns about skin care. How can you tell me a product works after one use. Ultimately consumers have to do their due diligence in learning about products and purchasing why works for you no matter who recommends it or who is the fave of the brand. I really enjoyed the amount of dialogue in this vlog ❤🍪

    That brand strategist's spiel about Mrs Carter's product makes me feel so uncomfortable...more dialogue needs to happen around the intersection between black consciousness and identity and capitalism in white america and the murky, messy inbetween. If you think about it the beauty space is really BODMAS, that is, brackets of division, multiplication, addition and subtraction around DEI.

    If you were nervous you never showed it. You were engaging and funny during the panels. The makeup is fierce. I watched all of wtf did I marry. Once she moved that stranger in after 2 weeks I knew it wasn't going to end well. Im all for exposing people but women have to vet these men. Some men are not looking for love but help. Women who have their stuff together need to be extra cautious.

  • @judieannozine

    Let’s face it: skin care 1. Takes a really long time to work. 2. Is extremely subtle. 3. Is extremely subjective. If the product is not terrible, we understand that you gotta get your coin. But that should maybe be stated more clearly. I would love to see brands use influencers and their community as product testing. Like - we see you have a wide appeal, here is product to pass out to your different cookies for feedback. Like here is a product for hyperpigmentation. Give it to your older cookies, your cookies who struggle with melasma, your cookies with acne marks to use for 30 days. Then do a live sort of zoom panel. I get that no brand wants to bank on the unknown but it would be soooo helpful

    Beyoncé is just the name for the brand. No one woman can tell me that that woman knows anything about a formula for hair care or anything else that requires scientific knowledge. That woman was just like she said, she’s a member of the beehive so it’s just crazy how people will credit celebrities because she is a favorite of their with super powers. But in reality she’s just a name for Brand so they can get more money because of her name.

    • @MadiHink
      @MadiHink 9 месяцев назад +1

      Beyoncé is NOT just the name of the brand; that woman is the founder and it would not exist without her. She’s a pop star, not a hairstylist, but her hair is an important aspect of her overall look so it makes sense she’d have picked up some things and be interested in figuring out what to do to make sure her natural hair stay healthy. Luckily, she had the sense to gather actual haircare professionals, scientists, etc to help her develop the brand. Have you noticed that the main people speaking to the press about the brand are the actual cosmetologists? Let’s use our brains, guys.

    I just want to talk about the natural hair aspect of this vlog. I have been a natural for over 20 years. I use many black-owned products but most of them are not celebrity-owned. I have many reasons why, but one of them is what the lady on the panel said. they are out to make money. I don't know anything about Beyoncé's natural hair journey to buy her products.

    • @MadiHink
      @MadiHink 9 месяцев назад

      Everyone who owns a product is out to make money. ALL of them. The vast majority of haircare brands aren’t sold based on the founders personal haircare journey; you either buy it or don’t based on the actual product, right? You don’t need access to Beyoncé to know whether you’re interested in the actual product.

The level of hyperbole Brittany used made me think this alleged Beyoncé/Wendy Williams moment was bigger and more explosive than the Whitney Houston/Wendy interview 😵‍💫 I was like, "How on earth could I have missed THAT? 🤔" Because, to this day, I can VIVIDLY remember where I was when that Whitney & Wendy interview aired. So, I was really scratching my head wondering how I'd missed BEYONCE CALLING UP WENDY WILLIAMS TO CURSE HER OUT ON AIR 😐

      The black face scandal in 2020?

    • @ITSCAROLYNGRAY
      @ITSCAROLYNGRAY  9 месяцев назад +2

      Valid point. From what i understand they hired three black women right after they pulled the collection in high ranking positions to oversee change and health of the organization. For dei , marketing and something else i cant remember. They were one of the few brands that actually went straight to work on fixing their huge error and i believe two of them are still there if not all three plus more. I also know a few employees on the store level who have the brand in high regard for healthy treatment, pay, and training. So i can understand where many folks can remember that but I followed how they would rectify because I’m a Prada fan before their mess up and allow brands and ppl to learn, grow, change etc. I’m not big on cancel culture and cancel jail. I know I’ve made mistakes in the past and i would hate for anyone to box me in. But yea im a Prada beauty fan with this lipstick and if they mess up in the future then i will adjust my pov of them as i see fit. Just how you are able to make the decision for yourself. Hopefully no one will damn you for it.

  • @Ivluve

    Beyonce is not relatable. Rihanna has more personality and one can get a sense of who she is. As far as Beyonce's hair care line goes, you mean to tell me she couldn't use one dark skin woman with their texture hair in her campaign!? To me it's giving, we're catering more to people who don't cater to black people. I will support other black women who equally support black women as they do others. Dark skin women get left out as if they are "too black" and it's not right. That narrative needs to change.

    • @ITSCAROLYNGRAY
      @ITSCAROLYNGRAY  9 месяцев назад

      She did tho. But correct, the narrative needs to change. Behavior and treatment of each other in our community need to change. We can be very ugly with each other and choose to misunderstand so much more than we choose to take a step back and see the layers of hurt, systemic effects on people before taking action or creating a complete opinion. However every person has a tribe of people that can relate to them and tribe that doesn’t.

    • @Ivluve
      @Ivluve 9 месяцев назад

      @@ITSCAROLYNGRAY correct, everyone does have a tribe of people that can relate to them and a tribe that does not. I relate to the tribe that includes everyone. I also am learning that a person's name can be attached to something/product, but that person might not be the creative director and/or designer behind the brand. However, I'm sure they get to see what the products entails as well as the marketing tactics that are being used, and the message that's being delivered to the consumers. I'm not necessarily talking about any specific person at this point, but I think as you have stated there are layers of hurt, and creatives need to be mindful of messages that sends exclusions of others.
