- In this 18-minute video, Mike Jones, a writer for Cessna Pilots Magazine, takes a day away from airports and airplanes to visit the Ederville Steam Engine Museum in central North Carolina, about 10 miles from the golf-world of Pinehurst. The museum is only open two days each year but features hundreds of century-old steam tractors, hit-and-miss engines, bulldozers, steam rollers and even a steam railroad. They claim this is the largest privately-owned collection of steam equipment in the world, and almost every piece of machinery is in working condition. Listen to the horns, blasts, rattles and pops and Mike and his friends explore the finest in engineering technology from 150 years ago. Sponsored by Cessna Pilots Assoc.
