    My one complaint from this weekend is we let the Magpies score some junktime goals and made it a 32 point win instead of the 50 point win it could have been.
    Also it was great to be part of a Giants crowd being loud and obnoxious as I know us west Sydneysiders can be

    Round 1 Tips
    Tigers bounce back and win by 4 points
    Swans make it 2-0 with great goals and defeat premiers Collingwood
    Essendon smash Hawks as always by 29 points
    Giants win another big victory by 30 points
    Geelong win by 15 points
    Suns continue on a rise win by 2 points
    Bulldogs win by 10 points
    Power smash Eagles by 36 points
    And finally of Round 1 game Dockers make a big upset and start the season 1-0 with a 3 point win over Bris

      None of those are smashings. Smashings are like 50 or 60+ 😂
      Essendon smash Hawthorn by... 29, what? Gws a big victory by...30? against a bottom 4 side after beating the reigning premiers by 32. That would not be a big victory. Port absolutey smashing the shit out of West Coast at home, the worst team in the comp by a stunning 36...You have to be taking the piss at this point. The Gws and Port games have the potential to be 100+ blow outs and you know it 😂

    How does a game of two halves, see all three votes for Carlton?

    • @RilesMacca
      @RilesMacca  3 месяца назад +1

      I was considering Neale or Dunks for the one of the votes, but since pretty much the whole side collectively dropped off, it was difficult to give one the votes. Cripps and Cerra were key on turning the game around in the contest. Curnow you could say was also pretty stiff.

      Fair enough and Carlton's good half was the one that ultimately counted.

    Harry Mckay fixed his kicking motion and clearly had some coaching from someone. Who'd have thought. The Lions shit me to no end. All they needed to do what Gold Coast and Giants did. Do the killing in the first quarter then just keep pace and don't allow 7 goals in a row to be scored... Best on ground in the Lions v Carlton game was Darcy Gardiner (for the Lions). Charlie Cameron seriously needs to learn how to kick a set shot and Hipwood needs to go immediately.

    • @RilesMacca
      @RilesMacca  3 месяца назад

      Yeah lost all efficiency and composure the Lions in their forward half, Hipwood and Daniher very disappointing.

      Carlton brought the pressure, and the lions couldn't take it. Carlton were over 190 for the last three quarters and 200 in one of them, and the lions couldn't go with them.
      I honestly thought the lions would not lose at home for the whole year, but clearly, I am wrong🤔

    Frankly, I'm sick of the criticism of Round Zero....except the name. It should have just been a split round one without any follow up byes to allow for these four games. Generally the criticism was from sooky Victorian fans who still think own the game. Having said that, why wouldn't they? This league generally panders to them at every opportunity....it's basically the A(V)FL....and I'm a Victorian.

      Yeah this my feeling. I live overseas so can avoid the state thing (for reference I am 50/50 NSW/SA and follow west coast). All great games with great narratives. I couldn’t give two shits about Carlton versus Richmond. That is going to be a walkover anyway. Agree the name “opening round” is rubbish - just split round one (Meaning Richmond can’t get play twice which I assume is while they did it).
