Another thing about cex, in the summer, they let their products cook in the window. I've walked passed the window and seen controllers with melted thumbsticks, and laptops with sun-baked screens. The scorching sun is hot enough to melt solder on graphics cards and detach components from the pcb. The scorching sun can also bleach artwork on games.
I tried taking in an old slr canon lens, and they didn't want it. So now I'm going to buy a compatible camera and sell the camera with the upgrade lens as one package. Cex can't exactly call themselves a secondhand shop, if they only want brand new items traded in.
As a former employee, this is absolutely a C grade item. Idk if the store that you bought it from is a franchise or corporate but if it was a franchise this being a B makes a little more sense but still not excusable. Though I do commend you for making a reasonable video about issues you've had with CEX and not diving headlong into falsehoods and lies like I've seen so many others do
I personally been very happy with CEX recently. I got a Canon 500d for Christmas along with a separate 75-300mm lens. I'm new to DSLR so wanted a cheapish introduction. There were a couple of small marks coming out on my pictures though so assuming it was dust inside I used an air bulb to puff in some air to try and clear it. The marks remained so I took it back to my local CEX who looked at it and confirmed it couldn't be fixed and offered a full refund as it was still under it's warranty. I bought another from them and added a little more to get the 1200d which I'm really pleased with. With CEX I like the fact that the goods are covered for 24 months(?) and the fact that there are some physical stores out there if you want to see some one face to face. Sorry to hear about your nail varnish fiasco. I wonder if it may have been the previous owner who put it there to pull the wool over CEX' eyes or whether it was CEX themselves?
Yeah most of the time am Abel to get good stuff from them just this one time tbh I do think it was the previous owner of it that put the nail polish on there I shop in CeX for most of my stuff and never really had a problem with them but it’s fine I’m not to bothers with it just should have noticed it that’s all
@@budgetphotography413 I agree, it definitely should have been noticed. Normally staff in those kinds of shops are normally very eagle eyed or least when I'm trying to sell them a mobile phone they are 😆.
Nine times out of 10. Yes it is usually fine every now and then you do get a dodgy product I’d say it’s best to get an A /B grade product and make sure that you actually get time to hold the product in your hand and be able to use it. Luckily however they do have a warranty so you can’t take it back if the item does break under normal use, but unfortunately it does mean that you have to buy something from the store it doesn’t entitle you to a refund find from the store definitely has its benefits but it does have massive downsides

I found MpB.com better in terms of pricing of camera and lenses.
CEX is good if you can go and get it in store before buying.

Hi there, I’m planning to buy a grade B Canon 70D in CEX, is it safe to buy from them, without knowing the shutter count?
