Is it possible she was on the spectrum? Like Aspergers maybe?
That was my thought process throughout this video.
You know I thought the same thing back then but we were always informed if there there were any special needs students in our class and they never had special needs kids take the same buses home or to school for that reason. That type of environment is way too hectic for anyone on the spectrum. They had buses specifically for special needs kids at our school and she was never placed on it. In the event that was the case, there was no way for me to know and there was no way for me to avoid this situation even if I tried 🤷🏽♀️
That's valid, but it also shouldn't give her a free pass out of bad behaviour, you feel ?
Danielle W I mean yea this is true. I swear on everything tho, I tried to sit on the very edge of that seat to not bother her and had every intention of moving the second I had the chance cause I don’t want to invade anyone’s space but then....the pushing started and I was like oh no.
Aspergers is not a separate diagnosis anymore. It’s not a term the autism community appreciates. She very well could’ve been on the spectrum and didn’t “need” to be in special classes. Or maybe her parents hadn’t had her diagnosed by a doctor yet. It’s a lot harder for females to get diagnosed than males. Some are never clinically diagnosed. And she could’ve been so severely bullied up until that point that she didn’t trust anyone. Was she nonverbal? They don’t have to tell the class that someone has special needs. I’m not saying she has a free pass for bad behavior. However, the public school experience for kids on the spectrum is incredibly traumatic. And that bus, with how crowded it sounds like it was, could’ve been absolute hell for her. The idea of someone sitting next to her could’ve sent her into a full panic attack. I would’ve sat on the floor or scooted in with another crowded seat.

For a split second, I did but she stopped the HSS stories and I think it's because people, once again, decided to try and be detectives and try to find "Ariel." People don't know how to mind their business and just listen to the stories. I do miss those stories.

Jennie reminded me so much of myself in the past in the first half of the video. I was always so quiet, had crippling anxiety, read books, and was mute. I wish I had a friend like Nikki growing up or knew someone like her because I felt misunderstood and all alone.

Nikki Glamour imagine having a friend like Nikki. I’d go back to school just for that and make some memories all over again.
I was the same way, quiet, small, and nerdy (and poor, my parents didn't have money like that). I looked goofy AF. My girls that lived across the street from me looked out though. They used to give me clothes and do my makeup. They always included me, and their friends would be nice to me too. They also had everyone at school shook lol nobody messed with me because of them. A year later they moved away, I was so sad. Before they left they took time to help me build my confidence to do all those things myself, taught me how to fight and everything. I didn't adjust immediately but eventually I made my own friends and faught my own battles, learned how to dress even with stuff from goodwill lol. They were a huge influence for me. Girls like Nikki leave their mark on people, even though this story wasn't that experience I'm sure she was that one for someone else without even knowing it.

Don’t get me wrong I have extreme social anxiety myself, but I’ve never and never would treated someone this way. Now I understand that people handle things differently, but still her actions were totally uncalled for especially when someone is being nice and sticking up for you.
There was this girl who was bullied most of her school life. Everytime on the bus people would not sit with her. One day she had an open spot next to her (only free spot on the bus) and I sat with her. I honestly dont know why ppl wont sit with her. I got to know her and she was actually somewhat of a cool person. I dont regret sitting next to her at all even tho people kept saying why you sitting next to her or eww like dont touch her. I was like wtf stfu
Amaya -08 what’s the worst is the teachers seeing kids get bullied and either laugh it off or fucking ignore it like it’s not serious. It’s fucked up. I’d get in trouble for defending the kiddos getting bullied, then the teachers never liked me because I always spoke up but motherfucker they never did ANYTHING to stop the bullying. It’s sad, and probably only getting worse.

I feel really bad for this Jenny girl. Honestly, I think it's very possible the reason she ignored Alisha and the other girl trying to talk to her was she felt threatened. She was probably used to being bullied and probably thought they were taking the piss/trying to be catty and pick on her. Also I feel like nobody really owes anybody anything - if a stranger comes up to you on the street and tries to engage with you, you absolutely do not have to do anything. This girl was intimidated and understandably since she would've been bullied a lot therefor constantly in defence mode. I don't agree with the pushing business on the bus though - maybe she did have a lot of built up anger but that's not an excuse to physically start bothering someone else. Idk I just really feel for the girl, she must have been really hurting.

Excuses. I was bullied when I was in school as well and yet I still treat people with respect,kindness, and compassion regardless of how I was treated in the past. There is no way to justify her behavior that isnt just an excuse for what is honestly just bitchiness.
I’m an Aquarius and I’m the same way. I always gravitate toward the outcast because I don’t like seeing people being outcast. Period. I’ve had similar things happen to me. And I realized when I was treated that way by the “outcast”, it’s because those people are so used to being treated badly, they don’t know how to handle someone being nice. And when they act rude or disrespectful, it’s like their defense mechanism. Anyway love you girl!! Always look forward to your videos!
As a Capricorn I might be low key shy but when I see somebody being mistreated or bullied i forget about my shell and stand up for them

She might’ve had Autism. My little sister has a thing with focus and if she’s focusing on something, she blocks everything out even if someone is talking to them. She also has a thing about touching other people and making eye contact.

Empire of Butterflies not really. If you’re high functioning with autism, they don’t usually put you on the small bus, due to other kids needing that separation more than them.

Y J Not true , they still do put you on the bus and make room for you. I was one of the kids on the special bus for having agoraphobia, etc and a guy who was high functioning like he was also super popular but had autism was on our bus. (Many students like him were also on our bus)

awww you're such a good person. I was super quiet and shy in middle school, I DREADED lunch. There was this girl Gabby (and her friend) that always whenever they would see me just standing there nervous by myself, they would always invite me to hang out with them. They were also very popular and were friends with the 'popular' girls, but they were so nice!! they even came to my bday, had a big dance party at my house, watched movies and just hanged out. This reminded me of them, Gabby now has 2 little girls and a hubby and I'm so happy for her, she always has a special place in my heart!!

I remember I had a classmate in college that was JUST.LIKE.THIS. I tried to talk to him or ask him things but apparently just because he studied in an international school in High school meant he was a ‘better person’ than us. I remembered we went to his house to do a project and the entire time he talked to ME in a condescending way, always tell me I’m doing everything wrong but in the end I’m the only one who fixed it. He also told me and our other group mates to buy our own food because he doesn’t give food to guests LIKE WHAT?! we just had to finish the project immediately and get away from him. After that I never talked to him and didn’t tried to make friends with him because of his attitude. I also punched him at one point outside of school because he thought it would be nice to touch my butt in Public- he forgot that I have quick reflexes and a mean left hook. His jaw got slightly dislocated i remembered but I told him that if he tries to contact the authorities HE would be the one in trouble instead of me.
She may have been being that rude because she'd been bullied so much. Bullies can be so passive aggressive that when you've been bullied enough its impossible to tell if someone's being legit nice you or not. I'm honestly kinda disturbed by how much this reminds me of myself in middle school (i'm autistic) and if someone that I didn't know sat next to me on the bus it was almost always to be mean, I've had to put my backpack between myself and other people because of that.

When I say that I went through the same basic plot points where I was always nice to this one girl (she wasn't being bullied or anything and she had friends but everyone thought she was pretty weird) and she was never not once kind to me and hella rude and annoying to me and my sister. I stopped trying to be nice after she crap-talked my twin sister in front of me.

I'm only at 14:25 and I'm remembering all the times people came up to my lunch table while I was reading and asked all nice if I wanted to sit with them or be friends or whatever but it would turn out to be a cruel joke. So much so that I still have trouble believing when people are nice to me. I started ignoring people too. I didnt wanna take the chance they were messing with me and make it funnier for them.
So I'm finished the video. I can tell you from experience with a high functioning special needs sister. There are a bunch of special needs kids that you wouldn't know are special needs because they are high functioning enough to be in general ed classes. THIS EXACT SCENARIO is why my sister didnt ride the bus. She got bullied so much that she did trust anyone. Coupled with her anxiety, her need for consistency, and her lack of understanding of social protocols it made for problems just like this. So my sister had a similar experience with someone who had previously been nice and helpful. I'll tell you her side and I'm not saying that's what happened with this girl but maybe
So there was a girl who had been nice to my sister a few times and stood up to her. They went on a field trip and the bus had to fill up two to a seat which she was used to riding alone. Already causing anxiety. She starts to notice as the seats fill up that others are asking to seat 3 to a seat and a few straight up say it's to avoid sitting with her. She ends up reading to try and hide her embarrassment and escape. Then the girl who had been nice comes and asks to sit next to her. She is instantly suspicious because maybe all the niceness was to trick her into this moment where something bad could happen. So she just keeps reading. She was worried that responding would kickstart whatever joke she felt was imminent. She set her backpack between them and this is where she did indeed do wrong she pushed against her backpack hoping that it would make the girl uncomfortable and she would ask to move. The entire ride everytime she heard other students laughing it..in her head was them mocking her. She kept it together but when she got home she sobbed and begged to mot have to go back

i had real bad anxiety in high school to the point it was hard for me to socialize but i never went out of my way to be rude to people. if someone said hey to me i would at least wave or say hey. if someone needed a seat on the bus (except for this one dude bc he would literally crush me) i gotchu. she was just an asshole

She reminds me so much of me I got jumped and I got bullied online and verbally constantly. I wouldn't have pushed u off the sit cuz that's not how I roll. However, there was a time in my life where I developed kind of the same angry coping mechanism for a short period of time. Where I would IGNORE people like that. In my head I would be like F all of u im gonna not speak to no one at all because no matter what people hate me. Its one of those things that sound weird but u have to go through it to understand it.. So I'm able to understand jenny that way, but I also 100% understand your side of the story and I would of been angry as well.

As someone who works in the medical field it sounds to me like this was deeper than social anxiety she might have had aspergers they are very socially awkward without meaning to, and they hate anyone being in their space

Growing up, there was a girl in my neighborhood who would get bullied all the time. She was bullied for her size and I always felt so terrible every time the kids would laugh at her or say rude things. But the minute I stood up for her and tried to become friends with her, I realized SHE was the bully. She antagonized the kids all the time, and even though I treated her with kindness, she would bully me as well. 🙁 Regardless of her intentions, I continued to make nice with her and she slowly let her guard down. We became friends and the other kids in the neighborhood slowly became friends with her as well! I think some people may be so used to being bullied that it becomes hard for them to realize that others may *actually* have good intentions! IN ALL HONESTY THOUGH, at 16 years old, I would have been furious to be treated the way Jenny treated you! Any teenager would've been! Exactly. And it's not even like Jenny didn't know Nikki and had like a reason to distrust her intentions, like they had worked together on projects, she was actually nice towards her, and came at the seat situation really politely. Like regardless of whatever her issues were, that doesn't justify being a jerk to the only person who's been nice to you when they just want a freaking seat.

I understand you. I think you did a really good job for defending her especially when I look at the way my annoying sophomore class act, but I have to tell you she might have been rude but we don’t know what she was going through and not only that she was also getting bullied and that’s so much stress to handle. She’s human too but you did a good job. I liked this storytime. Btw I think she was being mean because I been in that situation before when you get bullied you are use to what people do to you and when I was young I used what other people did to me to others because I didn’t want others to see me as weak and pick on me. I don’t know I just wanted to tell you my opinion but I liked your story time they are all interesting
Back in my freshman year of high school, I tried to befriend the one girl who was being bullied in the class. I didn’t like how everyone in the class was mistreating her so I decided to be her friend. She was the type that wanted to be cool with everyone. I would see her at lunch try to hang out with her bullies and try to insert herself into their conversations. It was awkward to watch and I would always ask her why she was trying so hard to be liked by the people that bullied her. Never gave me a response. But we did realize we had one mutual friend that was in another class. She legit told that girl that I was talking shit about her when I wasn’t. I had that mutual friend confront me through Aim one weekend. I was shocked but that’s when I knew I couldn’t be friends with her no more. I remained cordial around her (since we had made some mutual friends) whenever we all hanged out together. But I knew she could never be trusted. She would take people’s words and twist them and go tell the other person that such and such was talking shit about you. I did come close to fighting her my senior year. My friends and I did realize how toxic she was but it wasn’t until after we graduated that we realized how she manipulated and started a lot of the drama.
