Basic but best foundation to all aspiring singers all over the world... thank you Freya for being so generous sharing these great things for free...well, I'm Bing a music teacher from Philippines....and of course always present during your live discussions...thank you so much Freya! God speed!
Thank you ma'am for these tips.I consider you my mentor on my singing journey.I am a beginner, started to enjoy singing since this lockdown and found your amazing channel😀😀
My name is Aaron. Hi Freya. Gotten very interested in singing lately and learned a couple of songs. Feels so great! I feel a soul purpose to develop my abilities and to radiate healing and love through music. I have played several instruments and had the aptitude to be a professional musician but I did not pursue that. I've really kept my creativity and expressive potential undeveloped because of self-worth issues. Dealing with that now.
Very basic rules, but very important for good singing. It's good to remind students about their posture and to relax the muscles as much as possible and to think only about good breathing and nice vocal position
Thank you so much. This was very helpful in understanding some of the mechanics that should be happening with the voca instrument. I'm a beginning singer and this explained it extremely well. I can already notice a difference in the purety of sound vs it sounding muffled. I'm so elated I found your youtube videos and will check out your site as well.
Great advice! Thank you so much for posting. I still feel pretty new to singing but I guess I've been practicing for a few years. It's really good that RUclipsrs like yourself are out there to provide advice when you can't afford lessons.
Hello, Freya! Thanks for the video! Very good advice! I'm Diana, from Romania. I love singing, it gives me great joy and excitement. Our TGP choir conductor used to tell us about being centered and grounded, also about that imaginary string and standing relaxed and tall. I was part of the school choir in middle-school ages ago :P, then just singing around the house for many years. Since 2015 I'm part of a great choir The Timisoara Gospel Project (TGP, one big concert each year and an album) and since 2018 I'm also part of a small church choir with occasional rehearsals and church performances.
I just graduated from high school! I’ve sang all my life but for the last four years I’ve done choir and musical theatre. I’m really out of practice due to covid and I’m trying to regain my belting range and confidence.
I'm chelsea daley and I'm from New York and I am a mezzo soprano in my own vocal range. I always had been struggling with the issues that I had experienced with from way back when from 10 years ago I always had struggled with singing and I found out that I needed surgery on in my throat. And I always kept on doubting myself that I don't have any confidence in myself of having this fear of the way I sound and not accepting it in myself that I can do it
My name is Marty WELLS and I’ve been seeing him for a while but my problem is my nerves I seeing lovely at home I get in front of people and my voice cracks am I get so nervous I forget the words and I’ve been feeling like it’s it’s too late now because I’m 60 years old so I’m just responding to your comment you have a beautiful voice
Never too late especially when vocalizing every day. This builds confidence. Do some brisk walking before a performance. I’m sure Freya can teach you what to do. Good luck.
Thank you so much. Last Sunday at church while I was worshipping my voice all of a sudden went out of tone and it sounded awful. As I was listening to you I realized that my position was not appropriate. I will keep this in mind. Again thank you.
Superb superb topic. So very important to be yourself. My name is Omkar. I think enjoying my music despite having some challenges which I am working on. This was a very important topic for me to understand bcoz sometimes I feel so much engrossed i had strong tendency of moving away from microphone and which impacts projection and voice color presentation specific for certain phrases.
@@thefreyacaseymusic My another major problem is, when recording the song in a studio, how to maintain the voice quality which degrades little bit due to many retakes... What I do, in that case is; back off for a while. And then come back again. But then, it is so so important to keep an eye on expressions, vocal quality, modulations for each phrase and render it with full involvement and give the best recording take. It really needs tremendous focus and huge experience. Wish I could use this very life in 3 personalities in parallel.
Am Leena from Singapore. Am a Vocalist and currently resting my voice due to Vocal Strain. Have seen a Laryngologist and been diagnosed with Muscle Tension. On a Speech Theraphy now. Tku for your tips. They’re quite insightful . 💕
I'm Brenna. I've been an assistant teacher in a daycare center for four years now, and I sing constantly. My throat started hurting my third year and I could tell it was vocal strain so I started watching tutorials online. But no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to sing from my chest and only from my throat even after breathing exercises and warm ups. What do you recommend to fix that?
I'm a female, but would love to sing like Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees...the female version. Maybe he's not the best singer, but he sounds very authentic and natural.
hey freya see whenever i sing sometimes it doesnt strain but sometimes it pains i dont know wat to do 2. i actually have two types of chest voice like one is soft and other one is abit deep and whenever i sing i couldnt tell the difference which is very frustrating for me and i end up blaming and degrading myself and can u also kindly make a video of straw phonation like i saw in some videos that with the help of straw we can improve voice i didnt understand that video cause u explain it in the most easiet way so can u make a video on sovt exercises for how not to strain your voice and sing openly
In my case i listen to the melody i pratice it ...then when i sing it i automatically goes off scale(Not perpect on the notes).if i fix one part then other part gets disturbed again.?? What to do !
Hey freya I’m a male 21 years old and voice type is a high baritone to almost a tenor (somewhere in between them) my question is very simple, is it possible for me to sing opera in a soprano voice type like can I go high like a soprano??
look your natural voice is baritone almost tenor so if you wanna sing opera umn..... chances are slim cause look baritone or lets say tenor is like a sweet husky voice or deep voice and singing opera u need to have an incredibly smooth voice like a soprano vocal range is E3 and E6 or from G5 , E6 and four more are for soprano and dude you wanna sing soprano like an opera is chances are umn....... so thin man sorry to admit it cause iam just giving you a reality check u can ask anyone any vocal teacher if you think iam wrong see u cant change your natural voice but u can only change its techniques and the ultimate skill of style of singing man see if you try singing opera soprano u will end up hurting your voice u get frustrated take my advice iam an expert i know all these cause i have a huge experience see embrace your real natural voice dont try to sing in a voice where u cant change and you will end up hurting your vocal folds and theres a chance where u may develop vocal nodules by pressurising your voice into something else so love your own voice just u know practice vocal excrcises perfectly dont make any mistakes and u see there are two most handsomest asia's no.1 singers who have baritone and tenor and they are bts see bts v he has a baritone even he is considered as most sexiest and the most unique voice and bts jungkook he has the most sexiest tenor voice if u know bts and if you heard them singing so you are not alone to have a nice sweet husky deep voice and you should be proud of your sweet unique voice and look other people have no knowledge on these topics and they say info what they think is correct which is wrong see ill tell u i have a mezzo soprano i have a smooth voice and i wanted to sing like tenor and baritone but i could'nt do it i ended up hurting my voice and i had to shut my mouth for 3 weeks without singing and only whispering no talking too see how painfull it is see by expert voacal coach u can only cahnge your frequency of your voice not the actual tune ok love yourself embrace yourself you know you can listen to the EARTHS MOST POPULAR NO.1 LEGENDARY POP STAR B.T.S U CAN listen to v and jungkook voice you will never feel singeled out ok keep on practising dont hurt your voice I KNOW THIS IS SO MUCH BUT PPL REALLY NEED TO UNDERSTAND YOU CANT TURN INTO SOMEONE ELSE'S VOICE YOU ALL ARE ONLY YOU
