game was ahead of its time back in 2009.
it was one of the first games demonstrating the power of the ps3 after a long spree of disappointing multiplat-ports / losses against the 360.
i had a 360 back then and eventually bought a ps3 after being blown away by the graphics and atmosphere of killzone 2.

@guidorussoheck2100 not really tbh. as much as i love the mgs series and mgs 4, it wasn't graphically great on a pure technical level. textures were bland and mushy, lighting wasn't too impressive either, the only thing that impressed me were the animations in cutscenes and the character details were pretty good too (and obviously the damn great audio, score and voice actors, but we're talking graphics).
artistically it is obviously great though and as a game and experience it is legendary.
This desperately needs a PS5 remake. One of the most atmospheric and stylish shooters of all time, it would be insane to imagine this with Horizon Forbidden West's Engine, with PS5 haptic feedback and adaptive triggers just adding to the already weighty impactful feeling of combat. that would be a dream remake.
They might be able to actually make it like that E3 trailer this time lol

Playstation 3s in good condition aren't easy to come by and might be hard to get accustomed to after years of spoiling yourself with a PS4 or PS5.
One of my favorite FPS of all time. Had some classic moments with Multiplayer as well

Makes you wonder if we've really come that far since 2009, or programmers were just limited by resources. PS3 was like an experiment gone right, if you could solve it.
This game holds up well tech and graphic wise the weapon animations still looks good same with helghast animations using inverse kinematics and ofc muzzle flash shadows witch is not widley used even in games today.
Playing the multiplayer at 4K 60 fps has been always a dream.
Why we haven’t gotten this trilogy on the PS5 with a Killzone 1 remake is beyond me.
Actually, the PlayStation is severely lacking an FPS franchise of any kind atm, nothing but a bunch of third person action adventure/open world games.
Instead of bringing back this trilogy (or making another FPS) Sony's CEO is desperately crying for keeping Call of Duty on PlayStation

Kill Zone 3 was a masterpiece in its own right as well!
3 made the mistake of going with the Modern Warfare game design. I liked 2 a lot more because it felt like you were a small part of an actual war (especially in the beginning). Killzone 3 felt like you were jumping from movie action scene to the next. Metro Last Light made the same mistake.
@@TheHyperfilthered agreed, MW2 turned all these games from being a soldier on the field to some commando spec ops nonsense. KZ3 and Shadow Fall really fell from grace in that regard, and the MP suffered as well.
The graphics on this game hold up better than any game released at that time. It still looks good, just a few touches on character models and it'll be solid.
What about MGS4?

They need to make this work on mouse & keyboard :'D I love the game so much, but sometimes the aiming is so frustrating when you can't hit a man standing 10 feet from you. This is a game where you need to run close and just spray the hell out of your enemies. I mean that is really fun, but real hell on highest difficulty (which I always play).
is there a way to get your "online" character leveled to play with classes and other stuff you can't use with lv1 in offline mode against bots? Looks like it's online possible in online mode :(

Anybody can help me? After all my manipulations with settings, wich in description, game just runs in black screen and nothing else, but fps counter works well (frames shanges in real time)

you need a real DS3, 4 or 5 controller
i think if your GPU can reach 100% usage you can reach 60 fps but this is happen duo the emulator unoptimization

I have a PS5 Dual Sense Control pad so it works as intenteded. But not sure what you can do with normal control pads

For QTEs that requires PS3 sixaxis how did you get pass those using your controller?
I used my PS5 controller, sixaxis works just fine
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer isn't there a way to emulate sixaxis so we can use our keyboards or something? That's just a rare thing in this game. Using a DualShoke on PC you need to be connected via cable whereas with an Xbox controller you get to use it wireless.

does playing this on RPCS3 fix the notorious input lag problem this game suffered from?
I think that’s due to the frame buffer, I’m not sure if that’s hard coded into the game or not 🤔

@@calidan777 yeah I played through 2 and 3 for the first time last year and it’s criminal they’ve been consigned to the PS3.
@@Whiteyy191 yeah I remember watching the original E3 CGI trailer and being so hyped and then seeing the recreation of that controversial trailer in real time and being just as impressed. So when the game launched I was absolutely loved it but I couldn’t help but feel like it was being held back by whatever was going on with the controls. I read later that it was really bad input lag that was a side of effect of certain post processing effects. But like you said, the fact that Sony has neglected giving Killzone 2 & 3 remasters/remakes is criminal.

no idea, in my opinion Guerilla was ahead of its time with their games when it comes to graphics and even other things..
This looks so good in 4k. PSVR2 needs to get this game running 4k on ps5. Doesnt even need a graphics overhaul. This in vr would be great. It already had 3D and move support on ps3.

A tested yesterday this Game on an Native PS3 Hardware , this Game had allerdy Raytracing especialy the Water looking gloser how good it reflects Insane , even Project Gotham Racing 4 had allerdy Raytracing the Car Reflects the envirement perfect . For me all this Marketing today is a Joke about rtx
