Taka can control the amount of grit / rasp in his voice - can be very raspy one moment & clear and angelic in the next moment. Any rasp in his voice at any time is an intentional effect.

That long silence is said to be in memory of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, with whom he was originally supposed to work.
In some of the live performances in Japan and abroad, no one speaks up during the long silence, which brings out the charm of "take what you want" to a great extent.

⁠@@shicelle635 I may have misled you since my native language is not English, but that is just the speculation among Japanese fans.
There was certainly silence in the live shows before Chester's death, and some believe that the meaning of the silence was meant to suggest the lyric "silence strikes like a hurricane," but that silence became very long in the live shows after he passed away.

Why do fans just keep on dragging Chester’s name, no the pause here is not for him. One Ok Rock also did this pause in 2017 version, months before the thing about Chester happened.

The Chester Bennington inference is not for sure. But a comment from someone that was at the concert @user_ou8lj8im2n said that taka asked the fans to be quiet in honor of a fellow musician who passed and was supposed to tour together. This concert was in 2018 2 years before his other friend passed and only months after chester passed. So even though he does not mention his name, it is safe to assume that he was talking about him. Please, if you were there, let us know. Taka. chester and Mike are and were very close friends.
I definitely like their live versions, but im biased. I have seen them live, and they are definitely an out of body experience. Epic.
