***** ecs is only about 40 mins from me and ive gotten tons of parts through them for 2 previous audi cars ive owned. they deff make top notch parts, its just sad their install videos dont show the benefits of the parts.
Just installed this on 2016 Audi A3 2.0T Quattro; overall the install is straightforward. I found that having 5mm Allen L-Key helped with the bottom bolt for removal and reinstallation. The big time suck was the factory turbo housing O-ring. Props to ECS for including an extra with the kit I got; old one was a bit beat up. Grease that ring to get it to hold in place while lining up delete pipe; wasted a lot of time trying over and over again to place the ring and pipe just to have it slip at the last moment. Dab of grease kept it in place and let it slide when rotating pipe to line up mounting holes. After that it was smooth sailing. Turbo more woosh good. Thanks ECS!
Thank you for the suggestions everyone. The turbo sound will vary based on modifications to the vehicle including intakes, downpipes, and changes in boost pressure. We will try to include sound clips in future DIY videos.
regarding sound for me, I had it installed in my 2.0T Audi A4 B8.5 and it didn't really increase it much, very slightly, even with increased boost with Stage II map. percentage wise, the spool sound probably increased approx. 10% only
@@eeiko321 so not really worth the price? im just starting modding my mk6 golf r and ive got a 3" dp with decat and im de resonating with a repacement pipe and keeping the stock muffler for now and tuning the engine and dsg box to stage 2. already have a cold air intake. Im surprised at how few videos of showing the difference in actual improvement in performance there are available, im annoyed at the ratings on manufacturers sites of increase of upto 10%... doesnt affect my life in anyway and id like to know if its worth upgrading some one part while saving up for others of if im saving up for everything at once... Ive got a friend who does vag tunes so i get the tunes done for free so doesnt matter how many individual mods i do...
Well it is pricey for what it is. It may increase the sound / or should I say; get more out of sound if you have a pod filter. I personally don’t like pods as they’re subjected to more heat soak and there’s never real Independent proof of them Giving you gains. Well the muffler delete may help spool, maybe a bit quicker. But nothing really noticeable when driving
Just installed the ECS Turbo Muffler Delete Pipe and ECS Silicone Connecting Tube on my 2016 Audi A3 Quattro. I actually used another RUclips video as a guideline that took me through removing the intake tubing/airbox. I'm a bit surprised the ECS video omitted that important part. Removing the OEM hose clamps from the OEM connector hose on the OEM turbo muffler pipe was a PITA. Used a 7mm open end wrench on those. The bolts holding the OEM turbo muffler on are 5mm not 4mm. The T30 torx bit works fine in place of a 5mm bit. I had to chuckle when I saw the bottom 5mm bolt had already been removed. I used a 5 mm allen head wrench and several 4 letter words to remove the bottom bolt.
It's easier when the hose clamps are easier to access because you aren't using the stock coupler and can change the position of the clamps to suit and the Turbo muffle delete bolts are what looks to be finger tight. Intake in the way? Not if you remove it off camera!
If you came here to do this on an Audi B8 or B8.5 then take the skid plate off from under the car and it’s located on the passenger side. Very easy install. Bing bang boom and you’re done. Only thing that gave me trouble was getting the o-ring to stay in place while putting the turbo muffler delete on.
I've bought a few ECS branded mods including the turbo muffler delete and their manifold boost tap. I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality at a great price point. Thanks ECS!
At least the turbo is more accessible on the Audi's. One key thing they left out is you will be doing a whole lot of swearing due to the hidden bolts you have to deal with on the way.
Please could you let me know if the oem Turbo Muffler has a O ring? I had a Racingline turbo muffler delete which came with a oring on it for a year and I can’t remember if I needed an o ring for the original. I reinstalled the original but I just wanted to double check before I start having leaks. Thanks so much.
Is the stock o ring that in the turbo must be applicated cause it dropped over the engine and i just installed without it will it gonna make any boost leaks or somthing? (O ring in the TMD is installed)
i'm pretty late here but hopefully someone sees this... if i'm gonna do the muffler delete and the turbo inlet would it be wise to do them at the same time? looks like you'd have some more clearance for the three bolts on the muffler delete without the inlet elbow there
This was a well made video, glad i discovered this! There are not many videos about turbo stuff for VW. Only very smug VW owners who do a 5 second crappy sound test. Waste of space on youtube if you ask me.
I get a p234 overboost code, everything is installed correctly, when I clear the code it seems more responsive and have more of the turbo sound but 4 seconds later while getting on the throttle it throws the code and the Jetta seems to be going into limp mode or just not as responsive like it has no boost checked o ring 2 times and hoses and clamps 3 times still the same issue even after disconnecting the battery, I’m sure it’ll go back to normal if I put the stock turbo muffler back in but what can I do to keep the delete and make it run normal Lmaoo
You could have a broken diverter valve or dirty MAP Sensor. I think... get crc sensor clean take MAP out and clean let dry completely and see if that helped. If not it might be your DV.
the slots disrupt air flow a little making it both a bit quieter and since it disrupts air flow it can very VERY slightly bottleneck air flow, with this mod i havent noticed any performance gain its mostly just for whooshy turbo sounds :D
This part fits many VW/Audi vehicles. There's more information about vehicle fitment here: goo.gl/I9VdP2 Fits: VW MK7 GTI (2015+) VW MK7 Golf R (2015+) VW MK7 Golf 1.8T Gen3 (2015+) Audi 8V A3 2014+ Audi 8V S3 2015+
Mike Palmer Awesome, thanks for the info! I am looking to do this to my 2008 A3 (has a CAI on it already) and was wondering your opinion on if you found the turbo muffler delete to be worth the money you spent for it
Hi bro, congratulations for the video and since I'm also on the subject of modifications I wanted to ask you if this kit is applicable to a 2011 Audi TT8j3 1.8 tsi Thanks in advance
We offer a Nuespeed version which fits CJAA engine code. Here's a link: goo.gl/TahpN9 Fits: MK5 Jetta TDI, MK6 Jetta TDI, MK6 Golf TDI, and MK6 Jetta SportWagen TDI. Hope this helps!

Simple Man idk what your talking about lol I think your browser is messed because I can see all of them from the link🤷♂️
Is it best to be done when changing the oil on my audi or what?
a few revs before and after install to hear the difference would have been a nice addition to the video.
***** ecs is only about 40 mins from me and ive gotten tons of parts through them for 2 previous audi cars ive owned. they deff make top notch parts, its just sad their install videos dont show the benefits of the parts.
Not a nice addition. A requirement. This video wasn't even good propaganda.
Trust
It has a little bit of a difference for my car at least
How about a before and after huh?

I'm about to do this... Was it worth it? Is this just for the noise or is there anything gained here?
Lol! 4 years late but your comment makes no sense. He's literally working on a completely different engine so of course the fittings are different 😂😂
@@MrAlexwhead 😂 he had to watch a video on removing the air box 🤣
As stated below - a few revs before and after would probably help drive sales.
You’ve made it look so much easier than other accounts. Saving me so much time!
No problem!

Why so Testi could’ve used a thin layer or silicon grease to hold it in place
Evan Watty yea that’s what I ended up doing.
Is there a rise in sound noticeable? Is it worth it?
@@Darkdownshooting youre not going to get the sound you want. so prob not worth it. But there is small difference.
The turbo mufflers 3 5mm hex bolts are so tight I can’t get them off
Nice! Definitely the best turbo muffler install on the interwebs to date. Exactly what I needed thanks!
Glad it was helpful for you!
I've bought a few ECS branded mods including the turbo muffler delete and their manifold boost tap. I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality at a great price point. Thanks ECS!
Thanks for the feedback!
I have their Downpipe on my 2012 A4, Very nicely done.
i know i'm probably a small percentage, but could you make some videos covering the mqb tiguan?
At least the turbo is more accessible on the Audi's. One key thing they left out is you will be doing a whole lot of swearing due to the hidden bolts you have to deal with on the way.
I just want a shop this clean.
Can I put this on if I already have the diverter valve spacer? Won’t cause no problems? Cel?
Does anyone understand how hard this shit is!!!!! I’ve been messing around with this for the past 4 hours!!!!!!Dammit!!!
😂
Did u manage it? 5 years should be enough.
I need a install vid for the a4 audi. Is this at the end of the air intake ? Can somebody help me?
Will you guys be making one for a Jetta 1.4 TSI?
Please could you let me know if the oem Turbo Muffler has a O ring? same for a CCTA 09 2.0TSI ? Just getting back into the vdub scene.
What’s better ? A turbo muffler delete or a blowoff value ?
Isnt it a 5 mm for the TMD bolts?
Is there an install video for the FSI engine?
hey so the gasket inside the turbo (factory o ring) fell off when i was changing mine and no longer fits where can i buy a new one??
Is the stock o ring that in the turbo must be applicated cause it dropped over the engine and i just installed without it will it gonna make any boost leaks or somthing? (O ring in the TMD is installed)
I never installed that o-ring either mine wouldn’t stay on
@@mk6_mark920 i bought a new after a while and i installed it again, you need to put a little bit of grease to make stay in the turbo

Might as well get it done while you are in there! Getting a silicone TIP will free up some room and make the car breathe and sound better
At 3:44 ouch!!!! Lol great video thanks
So what’s the difference between this and Diverter valve Spacer ?
They are two different parts doing completely different things.
Does the mk6 gti have this same option? Hard to find videos about it.
Do y'all make videos for the fsi???
keeping the o-ring in place...nearly impossible
You need to use a little grease to keep it in place small amount helps
Yeah how was this just glossed over? I’ve spent an hour trying to get that stupid thing to stay. Thinking of just installing without it
@@SpeedWhomp420 I installed without it no issues yet
Mk6 _mark I ended up using a little grease to get it to stick. Super easy with that.
Thank goodness for the comments lmao
Any horsepower ?
Any performance or something?
Someone should make a video on this for an Audi A4 b7, because I found where my delete is but it doesn’t have the 3 bolts as shown everywhere else ;(
You can't on the B7 it's sealed.
They never make a anything for the jetta 1.4 tsi
what about a 2016 jetta tsi 1.8t,will it it fit or is there a different one?
The standard turbo muffler will cause to loose boost then with them slots in stupid design the ecs muffler loads better
Can you Guys show this install on a gen3 1.8t tsi for Passat 2015-17.

Appreciate the videos, can we get them more often ?
I hate that you guys never add a sound clips before and after... cmon
Question is this the same on the 2.0 tdi
What is the purpose of the slots on the OEM unit?
the slots disrupt air flow a little making it both a bit quieter and since it disrupts air flow it can very VERY slightly bottleneck air flow, with this mod i havent noticed any performance gain its mostly just for whooshy turbo sounds :D
is this only for the mk7 vehicles? or is this for the mk6 ti as well?
This is for the MK7/MQB TSI engines, but keep your eyes open for a MK6 TSI version shortly.
is this specific for the gti? I've got a golf and would like to do this but not a gti

What, no sound clip?
do you also deliver to Germany ?
I’m sure they don’t deliver it, but UPS might.
Does this work for the 1.8t?
Yes
is this for the diesel motor??
No, however HG Motosport makes remade turbo outlets for 2.0 TDI engines. Have one mounted on my GTD the other day
will it work on my 2010 vw cc 2.0
if it’s a 2.0T TSI which i’m assuming it is, then yes
which one works on the 2016 audi Q3?
The Turbo Muffler Delete featured in the video will work on the 2.0T Audi Q3.
Sound???
No sounds ???? Wtf
does the 2.0t Fsi have one ?
Yes, the 2.0T FSI has a turbo muffler.
Does the 2.0 Tiguan has this muffler in the turbo?
Yes the Tiguan 2.0 TSI has a turbo muffler. This kit will not fit your car, but we should have one soon.

Will it fit a CC?
This particular kit will not, but we should have one for the 2.0T TSI found in the CC soon.
do these fit 1.2 ltr tdi blue motion polo
Couldnt you just pay a machine shop to just weld the original one smooth? Wouldnt that be cheaper?
what is the function of it
read description. yw
All it does is make more noise. The throttle response BS is just that. Prove it make everything better. You may as well put speed holes in your car.
Ez install
You didn't use the rag to cover the intake pipe.
Sooooooooo, In the unfortunate event that you lost that outer O ring were can you get another one D;
