      Does the show pay for the skin surgery? Or is that included in the doctors price? After losing that much weight, there would be no way to be ok without having the extra skin removed.

    I'm 5'5" and a year ago I weight 196lbs which is obese according to my BMI.
    I cry in my sleep and emotional unstable for 6 months.
    And at August 2018, i finally snapped. Crying wont help me lose weight. So I began my journey with husband giving me 1 rule : NO PILLS INVOLVED.
    And here I am now 20th March 2019.. 140lbs, from XXL to S 🥰 solely on 5miles morning jog & walk routine.
    Still far away from my target. Wish me luck!

      Don't look only at your BMI - people are different ... In our church is a young guy, who is 2,2m tall and worked as a body building trainer for 10 years. He has really very big muscles, a good figure . Last year he watet to go to a police academy (in Germany). They told him he should loose some weight, because his BMI is too high -- we laughed about it - it sounds like a joke !! At his body isn't a single little bit of fat - muscles weigh high !!

    • @daniipieper2486
      @daniipieper2486 5 лет назад +8

      @@loveitsonlybabyscars6778 Gastic sleeve is cutting away from the stomach to just leave a tube-like organ, the bypass makes a part of the stomach smaller and adds a going around directly to the gastrointestinal passage, so most food doesn't even go through the stomach. The second one is a bigger surgery with even more risk of not getting enough nutrition afterwards. Both have pros and cons though. Both methods are nonreversible. There was gastric banding once but here in Germany they don't do it anymore because of the many complications (in the hospital that I went to, I should add).

    • @jhilganboldt8141
      @jhilganboldt8141 5 лет назад

      Awesome. Too many people just think it's just surgically enforced starvation but it has a powerful effect on your metabolism and endocrine functions. Being obese throws everything out of whack from satiety signals, to the reward center of your brain, to even being able to access your fat stores (inflammation, scarred fat) and surgery basically resets everything back to normal. It really is a true second chance at life.

      While surgery is an option, please be aware it is not a quick fix or an easy option.
      Try making 1 positive and permanent change a month. For example the first month you could try having fruit instead of snacks.
      I think the best thing to do is loose your weight slowly so it stays off.
      Most importantly though remember you are beautiful and perfect just the way you are.

      MsUn PC Actually I used to be about 5"3' and 185 and now I'm down to 130. I would like to be 120 but I'm not sure if that's even possible because I have so much muscle anyway. While I agree that the last 10-15lbs are the hardest, I think there is a such thing as magic pill. It's called adderall lol. To me, losing 60lbs is worth gaining back 10lbs. I have an extremely physical job that helps me keep it off. But I also don't eat like I used to either to make sure I never ever have to start from square 1 again. Once I saw how much better looked at a decent weight, that was sufficient enough to keep me from going overboard.

    This is one of the most inspirational videos I’ve ever seen
    about weight loss. At my heaviest, I at one time weighed 250 pounds. I’ve yo-yo dieted all my life, struggling with compulsive eating. As with any
    addiction, it is extremely difficult to change to a better lifestyle but thanks
    to this wonderful doctor and others like him, people who are seemingly
    hopelessly overweight can now get help.
    Even with surgery, it is still a challenge to eat healthy and stay away
    from the foods you love. Especially in a
    society that throws messages at you constantly to both eat whatever you want
    but you’re not worthwhile unless you’re thin. All these attractive women are amazing! And I
    salute them. I’m still trying to keep my weight down. It’s something that never
    really goes away. But once an individual can master their diet, it’s fantastic
    how a whole new world of wonderful possibilities can open up. Not everyone can do it although everyone deserves respect at any size. But human
    nature being what it is, it’s much easier to live in society if you weigh less.
    Coincidentally I weighed myself before going online. I am now around 130 pounds.
    But believe me it’s a fight every day to keep the pounds off. Best wishes to all who try and congratulations to all that succeed!

    • @Thaleya1
      @Thaleya1 5 лет назад +12

      i would also say that you don't get that big at 22 unless you have multiple factors involved. That means first and foremost crappy genes (when it comes to metabolism and storage), Maybee a hormonal issue, like PCOS where she would rapidly gain weight and be insulin resistant aswell as holding on to fat easier. And ten ofcourse se would also have to eat huge amunts and unhealthy options aswell as being nonactive physically. I know people that eat like absolute crap and huge amounts, but still don't gain weiight because they have a high metabolism and a great way of turning food into muscle with minimum physical activity...i do however see their lifestyle catching up to them as they get older slightly.. But yeah genes and hormones are the most important factors.
      As far as overeating it could be caused from depression and comfort-eating. there are to kinds of people, those who starve and feel no hunger in a stressed or depressed situation, and those who who feel awful but food fills them up making them less sad. Also alot of people look in the fridge ou of boredom today an not out of hunger, because food is so accessable.
      and also as you said, she must have had enablers around her, not stopping her and putting her on a diet and forcing her into physical activity..because i doubt she gained all the weight since she moved away from home. I think she was probably big all her life, but gained even more after puberty.

    • @stoneyj1a1
      @stoneyj1a1 5 лет назад +11

      Yes, depression & bullying can lead to overeating, most of us have been there; but someone was buying exorbitant amounts of food for this kid ALL through childhood. AND feeding this kid exorbitant amounts of food for 22 years. After the kid went through 10 bags of Doritos, 50 bags of gummy bears, 5 stuffed crust pizzas, & 5 Big Macs per day, doesn't a parent say: That's enough, I can't afford this and I'm not feeding you anymore today? the parents should've been charged with abusive feeding.

    Junk food is cheap in the USA. Junk food companies and brand restaurants prioritize poor neighborhoods. Meanwhile it's hard to get acces to fresh vegetables, sallads, nuts and fruit if you live in certain areas or in certain socioeconomic situations. It isn't like Europe or were I live in Europe. A normal menu at McDonald's can easily go for 9 dollars. Similar prices in other similar and local fast food joints.
    You can easily gain weight if you aren't able to change your situation after the surgery.

      That is because in America our government gives subsidies to these grain and animal agriculture industries and very very little to the whole fruit and vegetable industry. Our government is literally taking our tax dollars to make junk food cheaper so we get sick and then they charge us outrageous prices for health care coverage because we are all sick. I am a whole foods plant based vegan and my tax dollars are being spent on making the unhealthiest food on the planet the cheapest. If the grain, meat and dairy industries had their subsidies taken away we would be able to have Extremely cheap fruit and vegetables! I just looked it up, as of 2016 the US government gave 38 Billion dollars to the meat and dairy industries and only 17 Million to the fruit and vegetable industry. Notice the difference between Billion and Million! That is not including the water subsidies. It is estimated that a pound of beef should cost $20-$50 a pound if we were to remove all subsidies connected to the growth and production of meat. You no longer have to wonder why it is so much cheaper in America. In short, they are just trying to kill us with our own money and as a vegan I am paying to help destroy my own country with my tax dollars. It saddens me greatly. I am not telling anyone to go vegan, but I know for a fact that America would not be such a fat and sick country if we paid the real prices of what our junk food should cost.

    To anyone struggling with weight issues, self esteem problems, or feeling uncomfortable in their own body:
    Remeber, you are human, you are beautiful. You are important, useful, and capable of turning your life around. Don't wear make-up to cover your features, don't hide the way you look. Don't judge yourself, your body is not the cover of a book. The mirror will not kill you, show it who is boss, don't look back at the past, or all the happiness you have lost. Rebuild your life, right here, right now. You can do it. You. Can. Do. It.
    *you* *can* *do* *it.*

    They didn't take an easy way out getting surgery, they had to change their whole lifestyle and work hard.

    I've never had weight issues, except for the opposite... and doing everything I could do to gain weight over the years, because of a host of health related issues. So, I feel like I understand these people in the video in many ways. I enjoy watching this one now & then, to see those folks feeling good about themselves after what they go through. Peace. 3:)
