Could have packed even lighter for 7 days.
Hand wash and air dry clothes made of quick-drying material and take less clothes and underwear. If there is a coin laundromat available in the hotel or nearby, then use a normal washer and dryer.
Nobody is going to care that you wore the same swim trunks and underwear multiple times. They probably won't even notice or care if you wore the same shirt or pants twice in a week.

This bag is from walmart called the "Atmosphera" the OLDER model fits just fine! But the NEWER model doesn't fit due to the plastic sides! I bought this bag back in 2012 and it worked perfectly! Come for a new one in 2014 it doesnt work! Because of the extended plastic sides.
We just came back from Vegas and this bag fits if you put it in the box upside down. But not one asked to even try it in Houston or in Las Vegas.
Let me share with you the carry on bag that I love using for travel especially for Spirit Airline. It's a Nomad Lane Bento bag - been using this bag for months now and it is such a hack. It has a trolley sleeve feature and fits under the seat too. Makes your travel more convenient. It is surely allowed as carry on and I have used it many times already.
Go get a American Tourister Delite/Delite 2, this is 69.99 from walmart. get compression bags for 9.99 from Walmart and there you go! Years of savings on plane tickets!

...also keep in mind the possibility of having to fly on a different airline due to issues..
...so who you initially booked a flight with may not be who you fly with..
...do your research to be sure your planned carry-on doesn't have to be in baggage for a fee.

You're supposed to measure after you overfilled your tiny suit case, not before, as the dimensions have increase.
fold & roll your clothes you fit ton more thats how we did it the navy
No soap, no lotion,no face wash, no floss, no first aid items, no Q-Tips, no cologne, no sunscreen. There was room for these things.

Didn't this Atmosphera bag get stuck in the metal bin? The edges of the wheels stick out past the free bag limit of 16x14x12. Did they charge you extra for this?
Heidi K This Atmosphera bag fits upside down in the bin and is $39 at Walmart. Our family paid for 1 carry on when we bought our tickets, so that automatically puts you into Group 1 boarding the plane. We check in at the computer when we arrive and never talk to a Spirit employee. When we board, they don't check your bags. We also brought the Travelpro Max-Lite 3 which fits sideways totally unobstructed in the free personal bin. It's a great bag with wheels and a long handle. I bought it at Kohls on sale and with a store coupon for $85 but also sold at ebags.com, Amazon, Zappos & comes in a few colors. Both are great bags but it's tough to ft a week's worth of clothes in them & we wind up doing laundry and also wear a few layers on the 1st and last day of our trip. So far, our experience has been fine on Spirit. You just need to read their website and stay within their limits and you'll save a lot of money.

Yes if you're traveling with another person in your group that has purchased a carry on which will put you into the 1st boarding group. Don't go to the check-in counter, just check in at the computer terminals at the entrance of the airport when you get there. If you're flying solo, I'm not sure but I wouldn't worry about it but I'd try to take the smallest purse or do a cross-body. Each time we've boarded the plane we've always put our "free personal bags" above us and not below the seat so your purse could fit under the seat (when the attendants get ready for take off you can't have anything on your lap.)
Now the measurements are different (2018) has to be only 8 inches instead of 10
WOW! To many clothes,whats with all the pants? You can double up the swimsuit for shorts and toss the jeans, but still impressive packing! I just use a backpack now for all my travels, no fees and no waiting for my luggage
That would be considered carryon. Personal item should be smaller than that, such as small backpack or tote bag.

You can bring toothpaste and deodorant and perfume on plane as long as it meets the volume requirement.
Yes, you can take as many 3 oz. containers as can fit into a 1quart ziplock bag. But he should really put his stuff into a ziplock bag because he’s going to have to take it out at security.
Way too many clothes for just one week!
Wear the jeans, one of the shirts, one of the T-shirts, and one of the underwear. Take out one of the shorts, three of the shirts and underwear, and two of the swim trunks. Put the toiletries in a plastic bag for TSA. Done.

@@ki2000ki LMBO maybe his wife packed the other items. I know when I travel I pack just like him. Then I cram my chargers, and ipad and so forth in my husband bag, because he always has extra space because he packs SUPER light a week trip he will have 3 pairs of undies, 2 swim trunks, 1 pair of khakis, 2 button up shirts, 1 pair flip flops, and toiletries. Leaving TONS of space in is personal item bag for me to cram everything else.

It goes to show that dressy clothes (excepting the tourist shirts) pack better because they're thinner. If you need warmer clothing or wear jeans then it won't be as easy of course. Nice video, but putting the toothbrush and hairbrush upside down triggered my OCD haha. Also a post-packing measurement would be nice, I wondered how much it expanded.

Can't blame you, I hate rolling luggage as well. Backpacks or totes is easier. If you're a female, there are many options for small backpacks as carryons. Vera Bradley, Bella Taylor has many affordable options. I've taken a Jansport backpack as underseat carryon before with no issues.
Thats a carry on and you will pay for it , the personal item you take for free is very small

If you use this particular bag as overhead luggage then hes, your purse counts as the personal item. Your purse needs to fit under the seat.

Why are there two videos with this demonstration but the name of the luggage is never mentioned? Makes no sense and I've seen on both videos that people are asking for the name of the luggage and no one has responded. Why post the video if you are not going to respond to the comments!

i've heard some people say that they have to cut off the safety guards or something like that from the sides of that bag to make it fit the requirement, did you find any problems or did you cut off the sides too?? i'm going on a trip too, flying Spirit for the first time, and need a new bag. any help or recommendations
most of the comments on that bag on the Walmart site show no issues getting on the plane or fitting the bag under the seat with the plastic on the sides (no cutting it off)
