Next time, build a simple contraption, two posts on the left, two posts on the right . The two posts are wide enough to accept the log. The left and right side, perhaps only 12-14 inches apart, stack 4-5 logs on top one another, saw down in the middle for 2 short logs or saw a little to the side for one long lowg and one mini chunk. Basically it's like having holders on both sides of the log. no need to die down as they are trapped between the posts.
I think you're on to something. Simple and cheap to build, multiple cuts at one time, easy to clear, I can't think of anything else you could ask for. I was thinking of using a 5 gallon bucket with several pieces inside it but that isn't as good as your idea. This is what I enjoy about RUclips exchanging ideas with like minded people.
@@ASimpleLifewithChrisTara Chris this is off topic but you may know. How is the best way to season a wooden handle waffle iron? I can keep the handles above the surface in electrolysis but I have to keep them out of the heat as well. Do they come off, if so how? All my other Griswold waffle irons have the spiral wire handles but this Wagner has wooden handles in very nice condition. It's a low base but that's ok. I have to research this before I mess anything up.
