Love your channel Dennis!!! Keep up the great work. Don't know how you do it. You work so much. I know your family appreciates that. May God Bless You and your family.
Hey Dennis love your new microphone when you talk outside. I just love a great fire ‘🔥, at night , pretty sparkly. Glad you were able to get fire under control. Thanks for filming it for us enjoyed watching ‼️‼️
Your new wireless mike works great, Dennis! What you do there give me some memories from school. You maybe remember I'm a fire officer here in Sweden (and farmer/forester), and first year at University / Nat'l fire academy we had to learn how to make fires. Started in lab fume hoods with pine cones and wind by oxygen and ended with full scale controlled house and forest fires after a year. The next four years we had to learn how to extinguish the fires! ;D A husky leaf blower can do miracles in both ways. Haha!
Dennis- if you are still running your saw mill, take 15-20 gallons of wood chips, soak them with kerosene or diesel fuel so they are moistened but not dripping and cover them (but leave vented) and set them back for starting fires like this. The chips will last a lot longer than the straw and is not as toxic as an old tire etc. It makes good fire starter for wood stove as well.
The only other thing that you need to add to your fire starting arsenal is a leaf blower. Starting a fire with wet brush as you know is all about heat. A leaf blower turns it up about 100%. I use the battery powered dewalt.
One thing for sure, you know how to build a fire. Stumps are a bear to 🔥. Happy I don't have to pick up all the smaller sticks left spread all over the ground!! Thanks 😊.
Way back in the day when I worked construction in Va we used old tires instead of straw and covered those with deisel. But, that's kind of frowned upon now. We also had a farm tractor that had one of those propellors from an air boat set up to run off the PTO that we would back up to the pile and blast it with air.
If you will have a professional but not so funny way to do it, but are working safe and secure so read this Dennis. Take some of your dry firewood and pieces of birch bark to do a small "campfire". When it's really hot you can slowly first lay on some from your pile in back of your excavator or forest forwarder/crane. If it's to hot to sit in cab then you're burning to fast or you can build up a wall of debris between the fire and excavator to get cover from flame heat (and this covermaterial will pre-dry fast also). Then you can in a fully controlled way put on more and more. If wind changes or it gets dangerous or such just stop to lay on more on fire! Then you can skip to dial 911 (or 112 in EU) to call for back up from Fire Dep't! ;D
Awesome. Once it`s HOT it`s go, go, go. Just need a disco ball to toss in. Disco inferno! Out of curiosity, how do you decide which is a better method of getting rid of tree debris, to burn or crush it? Just something about stump pulling with an excavator that is simply fascinating to watch.😎
nice video 👍 about three weeks ago I cleared out 2 acres for a guy all about 6 inches to feet round nothing real big and the day after I cleared everything I got a fire going, I will say it took a long time for me to get it going but it was green and eventually through the day and couple hours into the night I had everything burned, was in a hurry Cuz had a bunch of rain coming lol
We have done this for years. Only problem we have ever had is if you get a spark down in the machine and it has dry leaves down in the belly pan or something that’s why we keep water near by.
Yep it was right across from you on manor house rd. Thanks for watching the old 320. We need to get it but dads says there is another guy wanting a pond cleaned out on bale spur somewhere.
I live in Northern Minnesota and we can get some serious fires going with old brush and logs and stumps The best time for us is in the winter time because the area I live in is forest lots of forest for the winter time is the best no major threats of a forest fire I’ve been in Minnesota my whole life 59 years I’ve done my fair share building fires to anyway enjoy
Very few i watch do the thing you do dropping a stump on another to get rid of the dirt. Thanks i can stop shouting at the screen for a while at least. Love the vids mate. all the best from England.
Looks like a job from hell to me! Mud, rain, fire, stubborn fire starting, un-cooperative wind, I'll just bet you are glad to see that one in your rear view mirrors.
That looks like some awful nice property in the background...Always like burning vids 👌🏻guess I have a little pyro in me😂like the German bale...goot-n-tight🤣🤣🤣keep em comin hoss💪🏻🇺🇸💪🏻
Used motor oil works good too. I try not to use too much all at once. Cheaper than diesel... Do you need a permit if it's raining? Up here we don't. Nice job rippin' stumps
Dennis, I can send you the old tire's off the old 410 B John Deere backhoe we have ! Kick the tires and lite the fire's Watching from lachute Quebec 🍻🐄🇨🇦
If the EPA isn't watching, 3 or 4 old truck tires with 3 or 4 gallons of diesel fuel and a backpack leafblower will get you a hot spot really quick!!!!
I wish I had excavator I burn brush in FL with a loader with root rake we burn hole live oak trees we use 60” airplane propeller mounted on a gas motor works good
@@DLHFarms That looked like a nice soupy mess lol. When we go camping we usually get the fire going right after set up but we bring a bellow and people look at me like have 3 heads but makes building a fire so much easier.
Hello thought I could smell a forest fire now I know why lol. It been a fun fire if you left that for a year and you would of had roasted rabbit for lunch. Have a great day.

Wish I was there with you Dennis. I can say that’s one thing I love to do is burn brush. You did an awesome job at that site. Looks good. Great job
Thanks!
It looks like all your snow is gone. Here in Maine at least where I live we still got about 6 to 8 inches but summer is just around the corner
Great job Dennis. Love the videos!
Love the videos and the country wisdom. I learn so much Thanks for sharing your comments I hope you never stop posting! :(

Yeah, burning down the condo might have made a few people mad LOL Great info on starting a fire with wet wood :)
Haha yeah would have been hard on our insurance
There's always a fine line between getting an industrial chipper or setting a large brush fire. Both of them come with their problems.
Yes highly agree

Cost too much to grind it if the owner doesn’t want to pay for that.
nice video 👍

Rain is good for burning brush keeps it from spreading. Haha
Hey there D.! Nice video. You do get all the fun! Keep on doing...
Haha yep I guess
Will that heat mess up the hydraulic lines if you get too close for too long?
If it were my Excavator, I'd be nervous too!
this is pretty commonly done. If you're not stupid with it you'll be fine
If you stay too long yes that’s why I go in then get out quickly.

@@DLHFarms That’s why for us having these fires in the winter is the best time because there’s no danger of dry brush everything is covered with snow
Dennis you need us to send you some tp?!? Dnt be using pine as toilet paper 😂😂
Haha that would be a sticky situation
Fire bands can mean only 1 thing, KARENS!!!
If everyone was self employed imagine how more productive the world would be.
For sure
Something strangely fascinating watching that 😁💪👍
Definitely! Haha
Best movie I've seen in a while.
Thanks
Looks like a lot of hard work clearing the land and burning the brush. What is your friend going to do with it ?
My friend was hired by the owner to clear the land but he only has a skid steer so he hires me to help him.

If you're having to work at getting it lit, it's too dry for burning brush. Good job being careful!
Wouldnt it just go if it was to dry?
wow, what camera you got!!!! very nice picture. and i watch alot of everyone i get to c it in 1080p60hd
Brand new GoPro hero9 this was the first use. Used the 1080p 60. It will do 4k and even 5k but it takes so much hard drive space I don’t use it.
5 Gls. Of Fuel, And A Road Flare = BIG FIRE!!!!!!

Thanks smart ass haha

And what will Greta Thunberg say? Haha!
Which golf course is that buddy
Olde Mill
Copy that what I was thinking. Good video buddy as always
At 6.00 a bale straw and 4.00 diesel that was an expensive fire 🤑
Haha just another job expense like pipe or anything else.
This video is 🔥🔥
Haha
you can speed them up by relief valves
Now that's a fire to camp next to really you won't be cold
Used motor oil works good too. I try not to use too much all at once. Cheaper than diesel...
Do you need a permit if it's raining? Up here we don't.
Nice job rippin' stumps
No permit required as long as there isn’t a burn ban in effect.
The key to burning is no dirt ,,keep it clean green or dead wood , been doing burning for many years Florida if your good try burning green palmetoes
Awesome 👍
Dennis, I can send you the old tire's off the old 410 B John Deere backhoe we have !
Kick the tires and lite the fire's

Haha send them on. Hello Canada!
There always seems to be a tire at the bottom of the piles of brush that I burn.😉
Haha
I have seen someone use 100 gallons of diesel to start a burn pile it was awesome lol
Haha that sounds like my dad starting one. He hooks up a pump and water hose to the diesel tank and goes at it.
@@DLHFarms ya nothing like doing something all the way and not halfass lol
You're the only one I see have the sense to drop dirt filled stumps on other stumps!
Haha
Did you eat a Tootsie Burger or Carmie dog for lunch?
Those were the best but Rudy’s is closed down.
Leaf blower helps allot
Try a backpack blower next time!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
I used a combi blower the second time I had to start it after I put dirt on it.
Nice job.
Thanks

good ol used car tire would get it going no problem an be a lot cheaper hehehe

Well look who showed up about 3 hours and 40 minutes early with a brand new video

Use a cordless leaf blower . That fire will take right off
I actually used a sthil combi blower when I had to start it again after putting dirt on it the first go round
Okay, I now want to see the finished product, all gone.
Maybe if I go back
Hey Dennis what happened with this property? Someone build a mansion here?
