This saved our department almost $800! Thank you!!!

Just found this video after spending around 45 minutes on the online chat. They took all information including all serial numbers, my name, address, phone number and videos of the problem. Then they told me it is out of warranty and I should buy some from their shop. Very disappointing considering they have only been cycled 30 times. Needless to say I won't be spending any more money with DJI. I do understand warranty conditions but I have other products with Li-ion batteries which are still going strong after 10 years+.

I don't know if the replacing swollen batteries is still going on right now. Some people say it is some others it isn't. it probably has to do with some security liability issue of certain batteries. Probably after checking your serial numbers they figured out yours were not part of the issue. I am just guessing because DJI has not been exactly generous when it comes to replacing parts that stop working. I have a DJI FPV battery with very few flights that stop working out of nothing and they didn't replace it either because it was out of warranty. but the fact is that it hasn't more than 10 flights 7 minutes each. Sorry to hear your case brother.

    Hi Sercan,

thank you for contacting DJI technical support.
Thank you for sending us an email regarding your concern and I am here to assist you. After checking all the information you have provided, DJI can send you four Mavic 2 Pro batteries for free. However, as Turkey has serious customs, we confirm with the local dealer and see that they can assist with the receipt of the batteries. I will get back to you when there is an update. Thanks for your patience and time.

Thank you for choosing DJI. Have a nice day!

I referred this video to Audrey and her response was.

Thank you, worked for me. Just went through the process and supposed to get a coupon code by email in a couple days to purchase a new one for free. As noted below, extra step was to show a video soaking in brine (used table salt and water) for at least 10 seconds. I guess this is so you don't try to use it later which makes sense since it should just be disposed.

Thanks for the insight. Just did this right now. However, maybe this is a new requirement from DJI, but I had to show the batteries soaking in a brine (salt water) and upload a video of that as well. The also, only required a video of the batteries rocking on a flat surface and not pictures of each battery. However, took about 10 minutes total with Live Chat and I received a case number and will be receiving 5 replacement batteries. Lets see how long it takes for shipping...

I am sorry to hear that. I don't know if this replacement is still available. probably for certain drones sold on a certain period. To me it has to do with some liability legal thing. Thank you for the video. I just did this process and it worked as you described, but with one difference. They requested the swollen batteries to be returned to them, but they paid for the shipping. The batteries I replaced came with the original drone purchase in 2019...so 3 years old. I had about 60 flights on each battery and I am extremely careful not to fly them below 25%. But your process worked. I now have 2 new batteries. They did require the proof of purchase, which I had since I bought the drone on Amazon. If you do not have the proof of purchase I do not think they will honor the replacement.

@@MyFlyingEyes On August 13. 2022 I had another of my DJI Mavic 2 Pro batteries begin to swell. The battery was purchased in 2019, and had approximately 67 flights on it. I contact DJI Support and this time the tech support person simply asked for a short video of the battery and serial number. I provided that and they are now shipping me a new replacement battery. So it would appear there can be two different processes that a person can experience. One is being required to ship the battery back, and one is having a battery replaced based on a video alone. I did chat with the technician about the difference and he confirmed it is up to the individual technician. He also commented that it is ALSO dependent on current battery inventory. I am super happy though. I have replaced the (3) three batteries that I was worried about and it did not cost me a dime, just the time to sit on a tech support chat.

My drone is 3 years old, Mavic 2 Pro. All 4 of my Mavic 2 Pro batteries were bulged. 2 of them wouldn't even click into the drone. The other 2 could be removed with a firm tug...not safe for flying. After about 6 emails and several videos of me showing the bulge with my iPhone, uploaded to my free Google Drive account, I had to send a video of submerging my bad batteries in a 10% salt water bath. This is to ensure the batteries are innate and safe for disposal. It is also so people don't trick DJI into just sending them new batteries and keeping your old. The whole process took about 10 days from first email to receiving new batteries. Very, very pleased with DJI.

UPDATED: I received two new Mavic 2 Pro batteries (build date 3/2022) in 7 days. Based on this great customer service, I ordered the DJI Avata with the flymore kit.
Thanks for your tutorial as it was spot on. My two batteries were from 2018 that I purchased directly from DJI. DJI Support requested everything that you mentioned:
serial numbers and video to show wobbling in Google drive, proof of purchase (DJI order number).
I had logged into my DJI account when connecting to support chat so it was easy for them to look up my order. They agreed to replace the battery and did ask that I scrap the battery by a video showing (a) pouring table salt into a bucket of water, (b) showing battery serial numbers before dunking them into the bucket and recording the battery with the serial number under water. The video had to be uploaded to google drive and sharing the link in the chat.
The support person stayed on the chat while I did all this. He/she viewed the video and stated that they will send me two new batteries if they are in stock.
    Other items to do:
    - save the screen shot of the chat so that you have record of DJI asking you to destroy your batteries - this is a recourse in case DJI reneged on their replacement offer.
    - ask the support person for a "case number" so that you can reference this case number to check on status.
As of today 10-25-2022, DJI is out of stock on the batteries. Once in stock, I should have two new batteries.
Thanks again for this video as it saved me at least $360.00 and at least 4 or 5 more years on my Mavic 2 Pro which is still quite good with its 1 inch 20MP sensor.
Because of such great service, I will be getting the DJI Avata as my fourth DJI drone.
