Brother I love that you have managed to put a spotlight on this tiny little corner of the RC hobby! I genuinely hope it gets more people interested in rc helis.
Im beyond stoked for the coverage on our special hobby. I hope this brings more and more people into the world of helis! Ben is a true ambassador, not to mention getting to watch the sickest flights ever. 🚁💨💯
Ben is spot on for starting out with the Goosky. I bought a S2 after seeing Ben fly one at a Reno fun fly. They are stable, durable and can do anything a large heli can do. I wish they would have been available when I started, it would have saved me bunch of money.
@@joeym2675 They are about $350 plug and play and I think less than $400 Ready to Fly. Cost of parts is the best part of flying one, blades are like $10 compared to $150 for the larger helis.
Last July I thought I would dabble a bit and got an S1 RTF...a week later ordered an S2 BNF and Tx16s w/AG01 gimbals. Took me a couple weeks but I got the hang of programing and converted my S1 over to the Radio Master. A month later, I got a Venom base kit and added HW80esc, Torq servos and Nexus FC. Over the next few weeks dove into the world of RotorFlight 2. Yesterday I wrapped up a Nimbus V2 and my Tron Gemini will be configured sometime this week. Next week I crack open the Genesis Mini my wife got me for Christmas, this is an amazing hobby! The S1 and S2 are fantastic starting points for sure! If you do get an S1, I encourage to get the upgraded Tail Boom, Boom Mount and Swash Guide from Micro Heli and even the carbon fiber landing gear. Especially the tail boom. The S1 tail is my most replaced piece hands down, with the swash guide being 2nd most replaced and gear 3rd most common thing to bend. These craft can take a hit and if your flying over tall grass....9/10 times you just wipe off the debris and keep flying. Blades are also a cheap easy replacement. Overall these are amazing craft and you wont be wrong with either choice. TBH you get one...and eventually you will probably get the other anyways so dont sweat it. The S2 is easier to fly because size/mass but also going to cost more when it does crash. And you will crash! Just get up and dust yourself off!. They are an excellent starting point and wont be devastating on the wallet to crash and learn on.
If you can find a place to practice with your S1 of S2 that has taller grass (4" to 6") it will cushion any mishaps and allow you to fly all day with out breaking any parts... (ask me how I know...LOL)
Thank you for all your knowledge and experience to help us beginners! Also, Carl has a great broadcast voice! Came here from Cleats channel. I'm glad I can see your mind-bending flighing expertise 🤯👍
Goosky are great helis 👍🏼 just flew one of my helis today. Got to get one more flight in before big snow storm hits. Great video and much better weather for flying 👍🏼
My wife bought me an old Revell helicopter years ago and I have been afraid to fly it but Ben you've inspired my to try and learn again. I'll let ya know how it goes 😃
This video absolutely made me confident with my Goosky S2 purchase I made about a month ago. It’s a bit too cold to practice outside where I’m at. I did get to take my Maiden flight but man did it just show me don’t even attempt indoors lol. Looking forward to learning over the next year and moving forward in life! Please keep the videos coming out! Would love to see more beginner videos.
Thanks for another great video! I used to fly RC heli's, but got out of it about 6 years ago or so. These videos are inspiring me to get back into it :)
What a coincidence! My S1 Ben Storick canopy just got delivered yesterday! I’ve flown 700 size Helis for the last year or so and the S1 flies so well it’s almost more fun than the big Helis because I don’t care if I crash!
nice! now i gotta get one of the bigger of the two heli's you showcased here because that auto level feature looks very very useful! and it will save me a lot of money! every time i hit the rotor on the ground with my 450 align im changing blades 🙄 thanks for this vid!
Great video Ben! Can you cover how to dial down the sticks on the controller so they are not so touchy around center stick? I know that it can happen on a spektrum nx8 I’m just not sure what I’m looking for. Thanks for the video bud! Great day for a flight with Carl!
Absolutely, if it’s a little too touchy for you around center stick all you need to do is add a little bit of EXPO and that will soften the feel up around center! Hope this helps and thank you for your support! 🙏🏻
I was googling s1 versus s2 to buy and the first reddit comment said the s1 is too small for anything outside, then right as I read that Ben started flying it in the video proving that redditor very very wrong, that was sick!
I'll be honest with ya Ben. I've heard of goosky but was always afraid of them because they were not "The brand" just like a lot of off label hobby products don't get the attention they deserve because they are "off " brand. But I think a goosky ( with the Ben stock canopy) has got to be my first real heli.
I totally understand! You’ll love the GOOSKY brand they really make some awesome Heli’s from their S1 all the way to their big model the RS7 solid birds!! I appreciate your support!! 🤗
Just a thought on some content for you,,,, Could you equip an FPV cam on that heli and get us some footage?,,, I think some milder moves showing horizon would be pretty sic?? HELLYEAHBROTHER!!!!!
Thank You so much 4 this. Been looking at them and there are so many available I wasn't sure where to start. Going to take your advice and order up 1 of these. Very impressive what they can do. Thank You..
Ben, have you flown scale turbine heli’s at all? We have an event in McMinnville, Oregon mid July 25’. It would be awesome to see a 3d pilot fly a scale unit.
My parents would buy me a remote plant when I was a kid… back in the 70s or 80s they lasted no more than 15 seconds crash and never flown again.. no self leveling… I think I could fly one of these
I probably should’ve covered this so sorry about that but this really varies to be honest. Depending on your flying style and setup you could get anywhere from 3 min to about 6-7 min.
It would be nice to show the switches on the transmitter. I have the s2 and I use the same goosky transmitter it came with for my s1. I also use the app.
@ perfect thanks. There will be a S2 coming my way soon!!! One more quick question for your thoughts, I have a Futaba 16iz but it has ratchet throttle that I use for airplanes. Can I just make that smooth and use it for heli? Thanks Ben
Of these 2 which one is more beginner friendly or are they same. Also what charger do you recommend. I think the S1 comes with one but the S2 doesn't. Last question I have a 50 X 100 X 16 shop is it better learn to fly inside or outside?
Yeah, these are fantastic for starters and advanced flyers. They are very durable for rc helicopters, but people new to the heli hobby might be surprised by how relatively fragile they are compared to rc cars and some rc planes. If you arr starting out, buy lots of spares 😂
The basic controls are pretty much the same but collective pitch helicopter need super precise control inputs otherwise things will get intense really fast.
Is the self-level feature available on the combo version of the RS4? I find that a better size to fly while still having relatively low costs to repair. I have an S1 and I don't have your skills so I crash it constantly. I think it's the size as I cannot see it as well and it is too twitchy so that's why I am thinking on the RS4. Oh, and would the discount code work on that as well?
Brother I love that you have managed to put a spotlight on this tiny little corner of the RC hobby! I genuinely hope it gets more people interested in rc helis.
I hope so too! 🚁 thanks for watching brother! 🙏🏻
I discovered you from Cleetus video and I'm glad to be here! Keep up the good work
Thank you so much, I appreciate the support!

You should start a RC-Heli School!
🤔🤗
Having crashed my gooskys several times worse than Carl I can attest that they are TANKS. Still not broken

They’re definitely an amazing little helicopter!
