I don't even have words for how amazing, mature and well-rounded these guys are. No wonder they've been able to create their own company at 5-years-young! They are sharp, good judge of characters and very quick learners. I am really taken aback by the sorts of discussions they've been having. I am so grateful to SB19 for bringing us such engaging content!

I love how Ken has been very protective when it comes to other members especially of Stell. He's quiet most of the time but when he heard things that are against his SB19 brothers, he's not afraid to speak up and say what's on his mind.

I'm glad Stell brought up the OT1 toxic fans issue, and coming from him who's almost all the time the target of the said toxic fans alongside Ken. The fact that he did some deep diving in the fandom...we all know that he learned more than the toxic fans issues. So, so happy that he was able to vent out his angst, resentments and was able to say his piece in this episode.

I remember when 1Z Entertainment was officially launched during their live, fans praised Pablo being the CEO. And here comes others who didn’t like the praise and blah, blah. Nothing was said to put down the other members but they ran with that notion. Stell is my bias, Ken is my bias wrecker, but Pablo deserved the praise and compliments he was getting. So, these toxic fans need to - in the words of Stell “grow up”. ✌🏻💕

53:24 i had the same reaction 😆 i loveeee how stell called out the toxic ot1s plssss we dont need the negativity in the fandom.
i also love rewatching vids like this w english sub haha.. stell often use slangs and i dont get them sometimes, so the translated "it's not giving" after saying "guys grow up" made me laugh out loud
AND OFC i love how real and unfiltered they get in every episode.. if only we can have this podcast ongoing forever 🥲

I am so glad Stell was brave enough to bring out the OT1 issue. But it's just so disappointing that it came from the fandom. I think they are not true fans. It's even a possibility that they are trolls. Stell already blocked one of them on X although rumors have it that Stell won't do it on his own. Some were saying that Ken read the posts and asked Stell to block that person. It's not really far-fetched if true.

To add, we didn't hear Stell comment about fans taking the shortcut through their family members, when in fact, among all of them, Stell was most probably the most abused member in that situation. Stell's family are so accommodating of A'tin coz, perhaps they're the most friendly and it's obvious in their personalities. Stell's grandparents (even parents) accommodate fans through chat and they can be overly friendly that fans can get some favors like video greetings and video calls from Stell. But surprisingly, we didn't hear Stell complain/say anything about it. So I was thinking, he doesn't really mind it at all. It's just another proof that our sunshine is THAT person who doesn't mind being bothered by fans. Just my assumption though. From the years that I've been a fan, I've never heard any issues with Stell snubbing fans/turning down fan requests for selfies coz he's so accommodating. Like he's the type of person who doesn't have a downtime when it comes to fans. Other members have been the subject of being misunderstood as snub in several occasion, mostly in airports (because shallow people call SB19 snubs for not smiling/waving back to fans). Stell is always crowd ready. His social battery never dies.

I remember a post from a fan. They saw Stell having dinner in the same restaurant and ask Stell if he can accommodate them for a photo. Since Stell is still eating, he politely ask them if it's okay after dinner since he's still eating. Before he and his friends left the restaurant, he looked for the fans who requested for a photo opportunity earlier. He really is a sweet person

Ooh! This was juicy. Glad the OT1 thing was brought up. I actually only experienced that after last week’s episode of their podcast. I was quite shocked at the stuff stans from the coop were saying. I get that they were feeling defensive about Ken, I mean I think to a certain degree, everyone was, he’s our baby, but a lot of those comments came out of left field for me (someone previously clueless about OT1 toxicity). I found a lot of it overblown, hurtful to the other guys in the group and also to their “OT1”, and pointless. This conversation highlighted all of that and I’m glad all fans can hear it directly from the boys’ mouths. They don’t want that kind of “support.” The kind that builds one up by tearing the others down isn’t for them. Hurray for brotherhood! And don’t we love how they all jumped to defend Stell? That made my very, very early morning. I’m literally losing sleep and I’m blaming Hurraira 😂

This was another fantastic #AtinAtinLangwithSB19 episode, a most meaty conversation, so full of substance. I really admire your commentary too, as always, Hurraira.
I haven't fully processed why, but since I started following #SB19, I often find myself itching to write in the comment section of posts that have something to do with them: their own things like vlogs and this podcast, tweets, and RVs from very select good-hearted advocates (like you, Hurraira, I have great respect for you). I tend to stop myself from engaging in any negative exchanges though, as difficult as that may be. And, when I do write a comment, I end up making some sort of dissertation. 😅 I noticed that whatever this group does somehow induces serious contemplation and reflection, and sparks discussions.
If I may share my SB19 story (which has a lot to do with social media, I promise): I first heard of SB19 from a clip of an interview of #ChitoMiranda (an artist I have liked since my teen years). He was asked about #Stell, who as we all know is his co-coach in #TheVoiceGenerationsPH. He was all praises for Stell and Stell's group SB19, most enthused so, that his words came across as more than mere compliments but rather a clear endorsement. So, I went and searched for SB19 on RUclips, clicked on the #Mapa lyric video, and found myself SOBBING! I then watched the #What? MV and was hit so hard by the words and feel of the song. I don't know why but I was so affected by the lyrics, the delivery of the lines and choreography, the scenes, and the fiiiire in their eyes in the MV; it was just so full of HEART, it gave me serious goosebumps and of course, made me all teary-eyed. After, I binge-watched any and all content of theirs and on them, and down into the rabbit hole I went.
A little later on, I got to watch their interviews on Toni Talks and #KwentoJuan and that's when I couldn't deny anymore that I would be behind these gentlemen, supporting them, in any way I could, as long as I could. The point when I most empathized with and was most inspired by them was when they all told their stories, no holds barred. Their words put a depiction in my mind of someone who is just so achingly tired and running on empty and in addition was being trampled down by bashing and ridicule. A picture of #Pablo came to me so vividly when he said he would go to work at 3 am, I think it was, do an 8-hour job, then go straight to a gruelling mental and physical training until 10 pm, travel and get home at 12 am, then start his day again in a few hours. He said his body felt like jelly. I imagined all of them being in that state AND THEN they would hear cruel cutting words; it became so real how that could make someone just want to give up on life. I mean, here were these men who were just working and persevering, trying to make something of their life, dying from exhaustion. I could just imagine how one word could have triggered a mental breakdown, to say the least. They laughed and joked during those interviews; you can tell though how dark, heavy, and wounding the situation was for all of them, but they kept going and stayed kind while bettering themselves and pursuing such noble goals.
I was first taken by the heart in their songs; I was captivated by their resilience, passion, goodness, their character. It was later on that I fully appreciated their talents and wisdom. But what endeared them to me the most, which I hope they never lose, was their humility, with how they were so open about what they lacked and determined to work toward learning and upskilling, how they let themselves be vulnerable by being as transparent as they can be hoping to inspire, address the wrong, and challenge the norm, how they are inclusive of others in their aspirations, how they respectfully regard others, just to name a few. With that, if somehow this lengthy essay reaches them, I just want to also send a HAPPY HALF A DECADE ANNIVERSARY greeting. You all are doing great. Please continue to be humble and respectful. Keep an open mind to constructive reprimands while staying true to yourselves. You make people dream and motivated to work for their dreams. Also, you have no idea how we dream for you, want all the best for you, root for you, and pray for your success, protection, and your very person. God bless you all. Please continue your prayer huddles.
To Hurraira: thank you for creating a healthy and fun space to exchange thoughts like this. You are equally inspiring, an example of kindness. To more discoveries and exploration of great music and great people.

Poor Stell. I had never heard about OT1s before this episode and I honestly don’t get it!? I admit I have favorites in the group, but I’m still Mahalima, I love all of them. I love their brotherhood and I honestly wouldn’t like my biases as much if I didn’t see how they interacted with one another. Them being together is what I love seeing most of all.
And toxic OT1s out there, just to reiterate what your bias said, they don’t like the negativity. And being as close as they are, you are just hurting them when you talk negatively about the others, so stop it.

One time an OT1 tried to engage me in a comment war, saying how her bias is an untouched, all natural beauty. She didnt name any member but of course we know who she’s alluding to. She was obviously naive or blinded to know that they all have “jobs” done except for the original visual, Justin. I wanted to defend Stell but I didnt give her the pleasure of a reply from me. It’s pointless to argue with them. I feel bad for Stell on episodes 2 & 3. Throughout their 5 years, this is only the second time I’ve seen him this low infront of the camera. 😢😢😢 And yes, I cheered him on when he issued that stern warning towards these OTs. Deserve!

  • @msl8blo0m3r4
    @msl8blo0m3r4 10 месяцев назад +33

This topic is absolutely suited for Stell being the most active member on social media. And too bad, he had been in the center of most of the issues they tackled here. 1st, when he was called out for impersonating a character from a drama which I think was absurd and this is coming from someone who has a family member with autism. That A'tin claimed that he/she was offended and a lot jumped on the bandwagon and bashed Stell as if he was the most insensitive person on the planet. That's why he's so quiet here coz it happened a day before this podcast. My poor Stell. 2nd, Stell was a victim of a video clip from his tiktok live that was taken out of context that resulted in bashing from some members of A'tin Canada who accused him of generalizing them as stalkers, when in fact, he was teasing one of their staff that if she ever was a fan/A'tin, she would have been a stalker. Canada was only mentioned because that staff shared that they almost migrated to Canada but didn't push through. 3rd, that toxic OT1s he mentioned, sad to say, he was mostly the target of mocking by toxic OT1/F stans, mostly attacking his visuals and for having a nose job, calling him fake, while their bias is perfect, untouched, all natural beauty (not realizing that all of them had some form of facial enhancements, except for Justin). He also mentioned about some A'tin/solo stans trying to overshadow a member being highlighted. Again, he perhaps saw some comments about him when he was introduced as a coach of The Voice Generations where some Pablo stans flock TVG-related contents flooding comments that Pablo should have been the coach and not Stell because Pablo was a songwriter/composer so he's better at choosing the best singers. Even when Stell was being praised as coach, they would still try to insert Pablo into the conversation by saying that Stell was only tapped because Pablo was so busy to take the project which is utter BS because Stell was THE ONLY CHOICE since last year. They've been keeping an eye on him and never any members. Even up to now, when TVG showed that Stell tweaked arrangements of songs, they would comment that they see Pablo all over it. Some stans are just so downright insensitive and have superiority complex. They can't wrap around the fact that the world doesn't revolve around their biases.

So petty!

I KNOW coz I had arguments with them and replied to these nasty comments from them here on YT and Facebook. Saying that STELL is nothing but A SECOND OPTION. Twitter stans are a bit subtle but hit harder coz they pretend not to be hating but makes you feel it SHOULD be Pablo more than ANYONE. I even encountered a few who said they would go over every TVG-related content to bash Stell because they can't accept the fact that it wasn't Pablo and that they HATE Stell so much for it.

I don't really understand why its wrong. The purpose of stell is to portray a character due to a colleague request. If Stell refused to do it, what would be the reactions of the senior colleague who requested it. Most probably many would conclude that Stell already starting be a primadonna. Some fans are just so overacting and they think they know better than the person himself.

  • @mavicpulmano6574
    @mavicpulmano6574 10 месяцев назад +4

As regards the character Stell was asked to portray during the tv show...I think the character in the tv series was about an adult w autism portrayed by Ken Chan (d actor who was w stell on the stage during the time he was asked to act the part of Ken Chan in the series). He only mimicked how Ken Chan acted the character, (that's it, only mimicked Ken Chan) but not really about people w Austism. I really appreciate Stell for being straight forward about topics wc some artists are keeping it safe to give their opinion at. As regards the OT1 issue, I like Stell when he said that it was ok if a fan only likes one but not to bash the other four Bec for me, it is important to HEAR IT straight from the mouth of our bias hence if we are the fan who is like that, he/she would probably be more mindful not to be like that next time Bec his/her bias doesn't like that particular action. To acknowledge that the toxic act exists is one thing, but it's a different impact to the fan when their main bias straightly STATE/UTTER that he doesn't like that kind of toxic act.

When they were talking about boundaries regarding their families, Stell didn't really commented at all as I think he really doesn't mind. His family is very sociable and just welcomes everybody. Perhaps because they are really like that from the beginning. They have a Sari-Sari (Community) Store and here in the Philippines, it could be the center of the everyday on goings in the neighborhood. Nevertheless, it shouldn't be an excuse for any fans to just barge in on them any time of the day or night. But then again, most of the A'tin knows how to give them space as well and keeps distance (except what happened during the PPop Con where Pablo and Ken got mobbed).

Yes, I agree with you, Hurraira, that these boys would inevitably have become famous some other way, but fortunately Lyra was the catalyst that made it happen faster. The boys are adorable that they remember her though.
I can’t help but hope that those “A’Tin” who can’t love ALL of these boys would just stop stanning SB19 (because this group is ALL 5) and instead only follow their OT1... so they don’t hurt our boys and their brotherhood. I mean A’Tin are the group’s fans, for goodness’s sake.
I love that Justin and Pablo seemed genuinely unaware of OT1 and the toxicity it brings. It’s quite refreshing to see this kind of “innocence” in this day and age of so-called “knowledge”.

This episode hurts me so much. My heart is crying for Stell. I will never forget that day because I defended him on X as soon as I saw the call outs.
As a mom of a boy with Autism, I know what Ken Chan and Stell was doing is not the same as most of under that spectrum. Most of those with autism could not defend themselves, rarely fall inlove and have a child.
How I wish my son is like that. Knowing that when Im gone, he could defend himself and have his own family.
The person who called out Stell messeged me and telling me that its still not okay with her. I told her I understand coz it took me 4 years to accept that my son is different. Every topic about autism felt like they are there to attack my son. So I get her point. I remember I tweeted that Stell is just acting the character and not the person with disability. I also told him that those under the spectrum is more sensitive and for my son to cherish SB19 and Stell so much...he knows that Stell have the purest of heart. Coz he knows really if the person is not positive just by listening to the voice and looking in their eyes. The thread is like 7 posts long and I know Stell read it coz its like 83k views and almost 2k likes I think.
    Everytime I watch this episode, I cry....seriously! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
We love Stell so much and I know I have to speak up for him that time, eventhough its so hard to open up to others what you are struggling with your child.❤❤

Pablo is accurate, we are sometimes late on trends years back then. but not three years.. maybe there will be some months gap, but not three years. but if you grew up with MTV and cable TV like me, you will learn about the trends back then earlier than our peers.

1:00:10 you know, sometimes, i think this might be due to being to free and careless in soc med. sometimes, people be just asking all sorts of invasive questions about schedules and locations without thinking of privacy issues just to be nosy and not out of deliberate malice/stalking. people, we should not be broadcasting our exact time and locations to strangers!
also stop bothering your idols' parents through their unofficial channels -- that's weird.

I was so surprised that his has become an issue as this was just an impromptu moment. Stell impersonated Boyet and he did not make fun of the mental disability per se. What would you do in his place?

The earrings that Ken is talking about is the Hanafuda earrings in an anime called Demon Slayer and it has similarity to the flag of Japan from their imperial era (Rising Sun Flag).. Main reason why that particular fan (it's not me by the way lol) is calling out Ken is because, the history of Japan and Philippines (particularly WW2) is not really pleasant to Filipinos and kind of reminding them the atrocities of Imperial Japan has done (to Philippines and other Asian countries like China and Korea).. It's like the Swastika flag of the Nazis to Asians.. It's really not remotely connected or similar to what Pablo is saying after (about non-Mexican people being offended in behalf of them) It is very far off lol..

It's not about the issues that arises from SB19 that stresses me when I engage with soc med.. It's the fandom 😆 I see people that are so entitled just because they've been in the fandom longer, or just because they're a "bigger fan" (also the craziest haha) than the others, they think everything they say or do is ok and acceptable. These are the people that attacks in the comment section even if the comment doesn't really trigger or invite an attack (I think we can include the OT1s here too because they're also aggressive). Then there's the people who became fans just because SB19 somehow fed the pride in them. These are the most likely to complain in the comment section about stuffs without even understanding the possible causes they're complaining about. They usually don't have any idea who is SB19, what are their goals as a group, how are they as a person. I think they are also likely the ones who have failed the Marshmallow Test as a kid 😆 They want everything now now. They want their pride constantly fed. Not tomorrow, not later, they want it now. If they don't get it, they tantrum. I wonder too if they stay as a fan or leave or even renounce being a Filipino after the tantrum 😆
People should keep calm, maintain their dignity, and be respectful even if we engage behind our keyboards.
Also I think, RUclips has less toxic comments than other platforms. But I maybe wrong.

I remember the incident that Pau is talking about. Its during pandemic when he went home to his family. I think the girl is just in their neighborhood and went there with her mom.
Its really inappropriate. Even messaging Justin's mom. As for me and as a Mom, I really wanted to reach out to them but I chose not too coz I know it will be taken out of context.

All I could say about social media is that before you enter the world of social media, you have to train your mind first that not only the positive you have to accept but the negative as well so that you can distinguish which is good and bad for you and to others. Social media is actually good and so much advantages rather than disadvantages because social media it teaches us of how to be self-controlled by being be mindful and watchful of our words and actions and to train our mind of how to ignore negativity. I know it's hard to be a positive person but if we train our mind to turn the negativity into positive then realisation within us begin to comes in eventually that whether good or bad, both is actually beautiful ❤

Stell got the flak with that issue but the real deeper issue about this in the Philippines is the utter lack of awareness about disabilities. Probably goes hand in hand with poverty, but it really is seriously bad for the average disabled person. Seriously seriously bad. If you're born with a disability you literally have no option unless you were lucky enough to be with a rich family.
& I think they misunderstood the Sun issue with Japan. It's actually about the sun symbolizing Japan's imperialist war-crime loving past (Nazi allies) that colonized the Philippines... and like a third of Asia. There's a rising right-wing issue in Japan where the politicians are kinda pushing for that rise (of their party) again. It's a tricky issue because the Japanese are raised & only taught about their being a victim by the atomic bomb, glossing over the part that led to it. That leads to content that are highly questionable for the eastern third of Asia who were massacred & tortured under that symbol.
