@rinwhr I doubt it. If he really really had to, Sal would copy and paste the space character, or use osk.exe (on-screen keyboard). I'm not sure what this is all about, but some hardware malfunction is unlikely.
What the title promised, and if it was answered I missed it, is understanding the difference, or what is not different, between rate of change and slope. I didn't hear any mention of rate of change. I searched the transcript and neither the word "unit" nor the word "rate" are found anywhere in the video so the video clearly does not answer the question posed in the title. I'm trying to answer a question from Khan pre-algebra, unit 13, lesson 1, exercise 2, about slope and rate of change. It's not clear from the course or from this video, whether 0.4 slope is the same thing as 0.4 "unit rate of change". Just to answer the question so I can move on in the exercise, I'll assume they're the same. Hold on - submitting that answer; I'll do that before submitting this comment. Ok, I got the exercise question right so "unit rate of change" and slope appear to be the same thing but I completely understand what slope is and still have no idea what "unit rate of change is" other than it is the same as slope and appears to be the ratio of the deltas which seems like a relative rate of change. What the heck is "unit rate of change?" All the top google (technically, duck-duck-go) results for "unit rate of change" link to Khan Academy so it appears the phrase might be something made up, or at least only used, by Khan and not something real in mathematics.
I have uploaded a video jus this week where I go through exactly those exercises step by step, explaining everything I do along the way. You will be able to solve that one in no time :)

this helped tremendously
So is rate of change the same as a slope?
Yes, basically so if a question that ever asks about "what is the rate of change of this" you know that its asking for just the slope of that graph
Thanks...I had same question
