Lovely film. I have six of Stefan's masterpieces and still play them regularly. The earliest was made for me in 1978 and it now sounds even more amazing than when it was new.
Yes, a lovely little film. I have 2 instruments- a 10 string mandolin and an 8-string cittern, which Stefan made for me in the 1989s. I still play them all the time. They have been wonderful. As Stefan says, go with the magic!
I loved watching this. My Model 1 Cocobolo model (1999) is still fantastic, I’ve never played a nicer instrument. It’s as well that I can’t justify one of Stefan’s more recent models… Thank you Stefan for 22 years of great pleasure!
I also have a 1999 Model 1 Cocobolo! I have to admit I only bought it more recently but it is a fine guitar and sits very well with my Steinbeck S. Both wonderful and never to be parted with
What a pleasure to get a glimpse into the mind of an amazing craftsman. One of these days I'm going to buy one of your Irish bouzouki's because I've heard yours are the best!
Remember Stefan when he was at the Blackgate Museum with Liz--He made a brilliant dulcimer for Bill Patterson, a guy I know--I wonder if he still sings "She was very fond of dancing but allow me to remark-that one fine day she danced away with a Calico Printer's clerk "
If you contact him he’d probably tell you but from a quick glance it looks like it’s been machined and custom made. Either by him or likely by a colleague with those skills.
Wonderful, you see what goes into Stephans Instruments . What an amazing man
A lovely video about a lovely bloke. Who just happens to make astonishing guitars.

Wonderful interview with one of the finest guitar makers of this golden age. Or indeed any other!
