Very good, but does anyone have authority to prevent one from being baptized after the person has accepted the gospel? This is my little advice to all our preachers, yes you are doing wonderful job and we pray that the good Lord bless you all. But I think it should be polite rather than attack when you disagree with one another because it doesn't we the listeners. Thanks and God bless you once again.
Eihh, did you listen to the lesson? Sometimes, I wonder how we can successfully come to a valid conclusion. The Bible says believe, repent and be baptized. If someone says I will not repent, why should you baptize the person? This is very simple. If someone says I will not believe in Christ as the son of God but want to be baptized, why should you baptize him? What is the reason for baptizing someone who says I will not repent? Will that person be saved if he continues in that sin?
Repentance 1. Repentance is the change of mind or thinking. E.g Matthew 21:28-29. Repenting does not mean just stopping but change of the state of mind or thinking. One could stop sinning without changing of mind. 2. Repentance produces godly sorrow. 2 Corinthians 7:10. By repentance, one seeks godly way to turn away from sins. 3. Repentance means a change of life. That means if one has truly repented from the mind and heart it must appear physical in his life. A total change of attitude.
Is this different from the lesson taught or in support of the lesson. You said repentance does not mean stop sinning and come back to conclude that repentance means a change of mind and total change of attitude. Is this not what is presented in the lesson? Of course, if one is repenting because of the gospel he heard, how can that person not have the right change of mind to lead to stopping a sinful act or is change of attitude not the same as stopping an attitude and putting on a new one?
@@richmondg3705I was adding up to the presentation. I placed emphasis on not "just" stopping but a total change of thinking reflecting in the person's attitudes.
You can't go to school without registering your name at the school. The same thing happens when you decide to follow Jesus. You need to register your membership through baptism then the learning process begins after that. My question is, have you finished your learning and understanding all what it takes to be a follower of christ or not. If not why have you been Baptized? Peter said they should repent. Repent here doesn't mean that they should go home and come for Bible teachings. Could you please give us the time limit of the baptism of those people Peter baptized if not repentance of hearts and Believing in Jesus?
This school logic will not apply in this case. The reasons are that when one is going to a school, he or she is about to begin a process and till he finishes the course of study, there is no graduation or certificate for that person. For Christianity, it is not like that, the goal is to get salvation. A new convert who was baptized today has salvation if he dies today, a faithful Christian who has been in the church for 2 years will get salvation if he or she dies today, a faithful Christian in the church for 30 years will also have the same salvation. An unfaithful Christian who has been in the church for 30 years will not get salvation if he or she dies in an unrepentant sin. In fact, anybody who wants to go to heaven must not continue to live in sin. Whether you are in the world, a new convert or in very old in the church. Also, for a school, you have to keep attending and going up till you graduate. With Christianity, it is different. A new convert can be saved and a 40 year Christian will not be saved. Sin seperates us from God and if we continue in sin and not repent, we will lose our salvation The new convert can make mistakes more of the time than an old member. But the new convert must repent from those mistakes. This convert must repent and pray to God for forgiveness. The old member might make few mistakes but this person must also repent. If one is baptized to be saved, then that person must repent before baptism. If baptism is for the remission of sins, what good is it if that person does not repent of his sin? Will the sin be washed away?
God bless you Preacher 🙏
