Welcome back everyone! I'm so excited to share this Project Mini Dragon update with you all! As you can see, the skinks are doing really well for the most part (with the exception of the unfortunate news regarding one red eyed baby...) and I'm excited to be rehousing and pairing 4 more white-eyed crocodile skinks (Tribolonotus novaeguineae)! Don't forget to answer today's Question of the Day and thank you so much for watching! I have captive bred baby croc skinks and some sub adults but I’m located in the United States. I’m in the process of setting up a huge 200gallon bioactive enclosure for my growing group of red eyed crocodile skinks. I’m definitely excited about this project and surely going to be absolutely stunning I’ll post some pictures and videos of the build process and finished product soon so stay tuned. Well I wish you and your family the best and hope you have a great day bud 🙋♂️✌️
This is so awesome! I love these updates! I think I started watching you around the time of the first red eye baby and your collection is growing so beautifully!
I always preferred red eyes over white eyes, until about 7 minutes into this video and that little boy's "smile" may have changed my mind!! Already can't wait for updates
I quite literally CACKLED when you said “it’s a pickle and a half” in reference to the murderous croc skink situation. You are so funny on accident. You were being so serious lol
QOTD: Absolutely, 100%, the Red Eye’s!! They’re so beautiful and CUTE! I’m obsessing over your content because I’ve decided to get a couple of Red Eye’s. I don’t want to breed them, just have them as pets but I don’t know enough yet to do that. I researched for 2 years before I got my first Ball Python. Lol! I know, I’m ridiculous…I just want to make sure I do everything right. 🦎❤️🦎
Hi Dayyon. I just wanted to say I really love your videos. The love you give to all of your critters and creatures is just unmatchable, they hit the keeper jackpot with you. I've been watching your builds and have learned a lot from the info you share. I just received my crested gecko hatchling and although he'll be in a tub for a while, I've started collecting my supplies for his tank. I really love how all of your tanks look like you grabbed a piece of the forest and brought it home. That's my goal for my new baby. I know this is a bit of a ramble but I hope you know how much your content is appreciated.
It is so awesome to see how far this project has come! It is always a relief to watch these and catch up on the progress. I have a healthy mating pair myself and the egg is expected to hatch over the next few weeks. Would you ever create a video on how you care for your juveniles? Or how to take care of them upon hatching?
Question of the day: I would choose the red, truly look like little mini dragons with fire around the eyes! i enjoy the darker color body with the bright color around the eyes also.
Both are nice if I had to choose based on aggression I'd chose the White 👁️ but based on overall looks id choose the Red 👁️ but both can be very territorial which is completely natural 💯
I'm so excited to hear about your Madagascar trip. It's my dream to go there and study the frogs there! As for which type of skink i'd prefer, I think it's a tough choice. Both are absolutely stunning, but I think I do like the red eye croc skinks a little bit more. The orange/red around their eyes is amazing, but I may have bias because orange is my favorite color.
Sorry lil bro I'm really late to the show lol. You outdid yourself with this one. I love your content and your animals. I still want one of your legendary dragons. I think they would do quite well in our project. Keep up the good work my friend.
Just to confirm for you as I've not seen it in the comments, that questionable skink is definitely a female. I felt a little from your wording you may have still been considering that it was perhaps a male.
I came here to say this! With the interesting coloring you can see now on the skink, it looks like the color was mistaken for the male markings. Beautiful markings though.
As for the question, Ooh I'll just enjoy yours from here! It's far too dry here for me to keep anything that needs a nearly semi-acquatic setup and I am not up to lizard care. They're super cool, but not for me. Great video!
I love these videos, so many people do not like these kinda of animals but I love them. I was introduced by someone I know who said her brother had this RUclips channel and I’m so glad I decided to search it up. As for the question of the day, I would probably like to keep a white-eyed skink, just because the red-eyes seem a little more aggressive, although they both have the ability to be territorial, and I do love the orange on the red-eyes, it’s very pretty.
I am not sure which one I would choose. I thought I liked the reds best first until I saw your photography of the whites. I had only seen the pics on Morph Market and your photos were way better and caught the subtle shades of the whites. I love the dragon like visages of both these little guys. I would like to breed a species of reptile that is in need of conserving. I am thinking of starting this year with garter snakes because I haven't raised reptiles before. I am attracted to the them because they are communal just like the your crocodile skinks. I have several times in the spring taken young garters away from my cats and put them in a breast pocket to warm up so they could move fast enough to get away from them. I find myself fascinated with them.
Yes! There’s def lots to appreciate about the appearance of the white eyed croc skinks too! Both are stunning! Good for you! I hope to eventually reproduce California red sided garter snakes! I may or may not have just sourced a male to pair with my female Sylvanite 🤫!
I would choose the white eyed crocodile skinks because I feel they are more uncommon than the red eyed crocodile skinks but don’t get me wrong the red eyed crocodile skinks are also hard to find but the white eyed crocodiles skinks are just a little more rare
well, it was the red eyed until I realized how different the white eyed patterns could be .. although I would probably choose the dwarf croc skink between the 3 Trib species that are on the market. Excellent content as always Dayyan! Can’t wait to see what those white eyed crocs produce for you!
I personally love the red eyes. White eyes are beautiful in their own way but the red eyes being typically a lot darker and the red eyes contrast it so beautifully and I'm actually getting on at the end of summer hopefully!
Hello @Reptiliatus I'm sorta new into reptiles and I found your videos very helpful and inspiring me into keeping my white eye crocodile skinks growing better. So thank you!!! My question is I've been watching through your Project Mini dragon and I can't find a video when you setup the leap racks behind you. Is it possible that you comment here with the link of the video how you setup the leap rack enclosures? I'm planning on having 2 more enclosures setup for some Red eyes. Thank you!
The project mini dragon stuff is awesome! Also I'd rather keep a red eyed crocodile skink because the orange around their eyes looks crazy cool! (by the way it's James not sure if you remember my user)
gracilis! I just love them so much :) I have been trying to add a published article I wrote years ago about these guys (back when they first came on the market), but youtube wont let me.
That one that passed looks like it was right with the egg shell. My guess would be either that it was one that had trouble hatching and ended up exhausting, or hatched out with some sort of failure to thrive issue… either way I’m sorry to see it!❤️
Yeah, sometimes things are just born with randomly bad genetics. It could be that one died very soon after hatching due to some issue we don't know about.
Do the new enclosures not have a water feature like the others? Is that OK if they dont have a water feature? Or do you just provide one for extra funsies?
Oh my gosh I've never seen these before, I'm in love ❤️ I'd definitely keep both, how can you choose? 😍 I'm sorry for the little loss. It's tje worst 😢 I look forward to seeing how they all do in the future, let's hope love is in the air for the new couples 🥰

Loving them so far! Especially as whole rack. I think as a stand alone enclosure they might lack the elegance of a glass tank but as a group on a rack unit they are incredibly durable, space saving and slick. Anyone wanting to maximize space without compromising their animals needs should look into them + lighting and clips.

the white eyed crocodile skinks are definitely underrated
Love this project! I think I'm swayed by the white eyed skinks, those subtle oranges and patterns are really neat!
The red eye skink is my fave as that bright red against that almost black is so pretty spectacular
White eyes! Love smaller!

For me it's the Red eyes. Just beautiful coloring
I love the project mini dragon series!
Me too!
Literally how to train your dragon 😂
Beautiful!!
Haha yes! Thank you for watching!
Red eyed because I like the solid color with attention directed to eyes by the bright color.
Orange. Bc it's my very favorite color. 😀
I love all the skinks. I can't choose. Can't wait to see the Madagascar content.
They are amazing! Two episodes of the Madagascar trip are out now! 3rd drops end of this week! Hope you like them!

I love seeing the novas! You do such a good job with your animals ❤
I’m going with White Eye. I love the blotchy colors and tend to live longer from people I’ve spoken to.
