You didn't know if you hold the throat gauge key, you'd get a variation of it which is teleporting behind the opponent and using the normal throat gauge huh (・-・;)ゞ

Just practice. Pick the spec you wanna learn and hop on in 1v1. At max look up some combo guides to know what combos are true. But with time you will learn to land most moves and how to open a combo.
