Thank you very much for this. It was great to see the purple on the wrist. It’s the one I’m getting in honour of my dad who died this year. Purple was his favourite colour 🟣
Seems to be a trend with CW that if you want the COSC version of a watch, they also force you to go with oddball colors. In this case the 2 saturated colors, for others the bronze case.
Colors in camera shots may be deceiving. It may be worth to see different colors in person. CW have 60 days returns and 0% finance may allow to take 2 or more watches and make decision which color you like the most, then send back the other ones (or all of them if there is no joy).
It's nice the titanium has a good power reserve but at least CW should give a better choice of materials for the bracelet and case a 925 or a gunmetal steel would be nice.
Reviewer seems to be leaning to Ti but this is personal joice. If you prefer lighter watch then Ti may be way to go. If you are after improves resistance fro scratches you may prefer stainless steel one. If it's more about look'n'fell... order both and send back the one you like less?
Tag used sw300 for their calibre 7s. and omega used the 2892-A2 which was the sw300 was cloned from. The movement is pretty fire which makes the watch more than worth it
I had the Purple Titanium on the top of my list but it unfortunately just dropped off due to the scratching issue that you helpfully highlighted. I buy titanium for the aesthetic but primarily for the hardness and durability. I don’t see the value (or point) in paying a premium for titanium and have it scratch easily. What a shame.
If I were you I wouldn't get scared off by scratches...I can't speak for The Twelve, but I have a Tudor Pelagos 39 which is also grade 2 titanium and I don't notice it scratching more easily compared to my stainless steel watches, doesn't matter if compared to the standard 316L, or 904L steel of my Rolex. Sooner or later, every watch will scratch anyways, so having the mentality of keeping a watch free of scratches will only make it hurt more, once that first inevitable scratch shows up...
Scratches annoy the shit out of me, especially when the finish gets marred by nothing more than resting your hand on a desk. It boggles the mind why manufacturers don’t bother to case-harden the material. I would gladly pay more for a watch that I don’t have to baby.
So I love the purple, the dial the looks etc but you’re telling me an 1800 dollar watch is going to scratch easier?!? I am wanting to get something “luxury” under 2k that has scratch resistance. Probably asking for too much.
which movement would you choose , the powermatic 80 or the SW200 ? I hear the powermatic 80 is part plastic and therefore disposable ? the reason I bought the quartz PRX . I would like to know more about the Swatch movement.
I'd lean to SW-200 but if priority is power reserve then powermatic 80 is still worth considering. According disposable movement... How much is service (overhaul of whole movement) and how much is the new movement? If they are similar cost then maybe there is no point in worrying about serviceability and from economical point of view it may be better to use watch for many years until it develop any missbehaviour/failure and then replace the movement.
The PRX is a toy next to this watch. It is not even a comparison. The build quality, the materials, the movement, the thickness, the price - everything is way up.
Surprised I’m not hearing more people draw the dial/indices comparison to the Omega Aqua Terra, it’s nearly 1 for 1 down to the color matched date at the 6.
why is that watch a step up on quality vs the pre? PRX movement is better, the dial is also amazing. I don't understand why you think that one is a step up in quality
Perhaps watch more close ups in YT clips of both watches to try to asses the quality yourself. Arms, dials, printouts etc. If you don't see difference there is probably no point to pay more for CW. According movement the PRX have 80h power reserve vs 38h of this watch, but... Powermatic 80 to achive the 80h lowered frequency from 4Hz to 3Hz (seconds arm sweep is less "fluent"/attractive), also people complain that Powermatic 80 have plastic components and is less or perhaps non-servicable and instead it's disposable. Good luck with research and making your own choice :)
I'm generally not interested in homage watches unless they are improved versions of its original part. In this case, I would prefer these over PRX and even IWC ones.
Prx is for rookies , this is a class watch Christopher Ward officially has 4 big hitting watches , the moon phases the bell canto, and the 12 , Christopher ward is making some mf, moves I love it all, it’s becoming one of my favorite brands in the watch world rn
If that purple was SS but still had the chronometer, I'd buy it. I've been looking for a purple dial watch and they are hard to find. If anyone knows of any purple dial watches that are reasonably priced, let me know.
Good attempt from CW, good-looking watches, and adding variety to their lineup. Two big misses to me, however, is not offering the SW300 with the stainless steel. Many like the heft of SS and prefer that over Ti. They'll miss a lot of sales with that omission. Also, grade 2 with no harding? Why pay for the upgraded movement and unique dial color if the case and bracelet will scratch up easier than the SS version? To me, another miss for sales. Maybe 2nd generation will have more cohesive thought.
I mentioned that at their booth at Windup watch fair in SF and they said they had ZERO plans on doing what you mentioned. It didn’t even seem like they cared even after I mentioned that they will get a lot more sales this way. Same way on Instagram in their comments section. They didn’t comment on it whatsoever whilst commenting on other people’s comments showing that they are only half listening to their client base.
@tupakveli That's nonsense to not even consider something that seems to make perfect sense. In the end, the consumers' dollar always wins out, so we'll see if they change their strategy.
You're not getting the finishing, facets, chamfers, and polishing on Grade 5 sub $2K. This will sell well (already back ordered to Nov) and CW will make a bunch of money
@@watchfalcon122 Then the flipside would be adding hardening treatment for let's say an additional $200. My $700 Traska has that treatment and i bang it up almost everyday that I wear it and no scratches.
