Barrier has a mechanic that maxes at 30% of characters hp. Therefore for stryfe lvl 5 fortifier that is t4ed would be a waste as you would go above the 30% constantly. Without the t4s it's good but with t4s the skirmish probably better at lv5 due to other giving the healing. This allows the aoe ability block to stick on three characters. Emma is striker lv5 or healer at lvl4 Sinister is healer Mystique is skirmish assuming her ultimate is t4ed Sabertooth is benched unless he 6rs or more and blob is used as striker lvl 5 (skirmish doesn't work) or lvl4 healer. Healers are used on defence and striker on offence.
I believe active healing is clumsy wording they meant to use to exclude heal over time regen effects and should have been called direct healing instead. The excluded items seem to be regen and percent steal moves (not healing) and barrier (not healing) but include drain steal and innate regen. I am 100% sold on healing for emma her health pool is large granting sizeable heals to other characters instead of her built in self shield and heal capabilities. But then it gets better because most folks take out stryfe and sinister and emma is still rough to get through so they go saber/myst and the bonus healing on emma now pointed at herself on top of self healing in kit (w bonus mind you) letting her win. The now solo and super regen emma is tricky I have seen in war 300k teams losing to just 100k emma because she starts with defense down basically ignoring the first few turns as she slows them blind/murders them and goes into diamond form. The teams that are good at dealing with that are valuable war attack teams so now you are pulling a bonus decent team or getting several defense wins with just 1 character. Solo emma/cap marvel was a bit of a pain before but iso has allowed you to focus on those aspects. Mini regen/heal is an extra 10% max hp per turn and since she keeps going diamond you can only inflict decent damage on some turns. Its rude.

Stryfe is kinda in an awkward spot where there's no clear cut class for him that plays off his strengths.
I run fort tier3 right now. Sinister heals so much the shield gives so much more def since it goes above max hp. And it gets past heal block
I use him as a Striker because his basic attack steals buffs and sends them to Mr. Sinister. He also does the most damage on my team.
The iso attack wont steal buffs. It only deals damage
