We drive down the road and see the huge number of desperate, homeless people everywhere. With wages too low to ride out unemployment and rent too high, many realize how close they are to joining them. Why would a sane person living in OR want to risk having children in these conditions?

Also, the amount of same-sex couples we have here per capita doesn’t help these numbers. They don’t tend to be the highest baby producers, you know.

America's birthrates have fallen for decades, since the 1960s, and nationwide is far below the replacement rate of 2.1 or so. America currently has a birthrate of 1.6 births per female, which spells doom for our federal government's dependency on growing the GDP each year to outrun the exponential national debt. Many school districts across the nation are closing elementary schools.

Why’d the kids leave? Where the adults who want kids go? Hmm

It’s because families are moving off to different states. Those in charge *want* you to believe it’s all about the decline in birth rate. The reality is that families have gotten fed up with Oregon schools, the crime, and overall mismanagement by our blue government. They’re moving to red states.

I am so pissed off having to pay another property tax increase to pay for more teacher raises with a declining enrollment! I'm tired of having to pay for these measures that force me to pay for someone else's responsibilities. I'm a senior with no children and this crap is driving me out of my home! If you haven't noticed by now. The producers are fed up and leaving. The takers have now out numbered them. I've had enough too.

Taxes are high, but don’t argue to short change yourself. The student you educate today is your caretaker tomorrow.

Take a look at what the school administrators income is versus the teachers. Funny how this gets overlooked. 😐

Birth rates going down is the main reason why the boomer generation ended in 1964. And the birth rate for 1964 is 4 million while 1965 birthrate is 3.9 million.
