It's so otherworldly!......he's my absolutely favorite male vocalist and arranger....he was touched by God spirit....and always had soulful musicians with him....

The original version of "Life's A Game of Give and Take" from the "In Our Lifetime?" sessions. The tapes/reels had ended up in a private collection and were UNLABELED!!! The person just happened to listen to them one day and had an "OH, S###, I THINK THIS IS MARVIN GAYE!" moment. They made a phone call and the rest is history. The entire original sessions could have ended up in the trash.
The dj mixed elements of the unreleased material that came out in the 90s and the original released track 1981, with some other goodies. Dope mix no doubt...

But he realized he had to battle newer cats like Teddy Pendergrass, Frankie Beverly, Prince & Rick James for his fans, so he regrouped and decided to make a straight ahead funky dance album. He changed the lyrics to every song he'd recorded for it, including this one.
