The pathos n d pain n d craving n d pininig "_____for piya bin"____can b felt in Guruji 's voice....the Patiala gharana is slow but steady n d sweetness of rendition while singing d swaras is a characteristic feature. But Kirana gharana is fast n energetic...which is equally soul touching as Begum Parveen Sultana Ji ....Both the Stawlwarts are legends each singing n creating their own style creating History in their own gharana...so how does question of comparison comes...Both are Masters❤❤❤❤❤
Such Beautiful n aesthetic rendition total sublimity when u close yr eyes n d dividence of Taal n lot.....showed n categorized by Panditji.....Pranam Guruji🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This very good presentation. I have one doubt about the sentence "Kalana paratha mohe ghadi pala china dina" what is the meaning of "kalanapadat" is it karna padta? Or kar nafrat? Or khal na parath or something else? I have came across the same wordings in Bhupali Bandish Jab se tuma sanga Any Hindi/Urdu experts??
It is “kal na parat.” I believe the whole line (kal na parat mohe ghari pala chin dina) means there’s isn’t a single moment with rest or something alike.
Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty's compulsive habit of talking in-between his rendition is very disturbing. He is a legend no doubt and his knowledge is immense but it breaks the flow and rhythm of the rendition. To a listener, it is jarring! His daughter has followed his footsteps and many of his disciples follow that practice too even though they have not attained that stature to impart knowledge in between their rendition.
A performer on the stage is supposed to employ every possible means to connect to the audience; it's not always just imparting knowledge... And even if it's for sharing some knowledge, they for sure (whoever the performer is) are more knowledgeable than the audience (that's why they are on the stage in the first place); and hence have every right to share what they feel like sharing... Don't go about creating such frictious notions in your head please!
Even I listen with the involvement leading upto tears... So the same recording when I too listen with equal involvement - if I don't have a problem and you face some problem - you should see what you're doing wrong! You should accept the singer's mind and personality, and of-course singing... If you just wanna accept someon'es singing but not their mind/person which is behind that singing - then it's not going to work!
There's no energy in his singing and he's emoting too much, as a result his pronunciation sounds off. Listen to Bhimsen Joshi such well pronounced and energetic singing wakes you up from deathbed.
lol.. another wannabe pseudo music intellectual... this is patiala gharana of singing which has to be slow and wavy.. listen to ustam gulam ali saab, his singing is much more slow than this.. because he also comes from patiala house.. while pandit bhimsen joshi's style is from kirana gharana.. which is bold and energetic... pt ajoy ji is singing with expertise according to his gharana.. thats why there is wavy and high emoting and meends there... gharana differs that means style of expression differs.. thats why both are singing in different expressions..no one is less than each other.. first learn something about music then come to give gyaan..

first learn something about music then come to give gyaan..
Listen the bol of bandish. There should be viraha rasa into this composition. So why so much energy required at all?

I fully agree. He is too much 'technical'...singing science devoid of soul
