Was in London 20 years, lived 5 in Sheerness. Now in Gillingham. Feels like an improvement. 🤣 We live a bit nearer the A2 but I'm in town once a week. Schools aren't too bad round here. I'll bet Aus is lovely though, we are hoping to go to sunnier climes one day.
I was living in Rochester until i was 5 and Gillingham until we moved to Australia in 2012. Gillingham has a lot going for it but it gets a bad wrap because a lot of the people there are stuck in a rut. There are so many great things to do there, Ice rink, bowling, skiing, river walks etc and all so close to London and the countryside. It's a great little spot but needs to be warmer. At least it's easy to get to warmer climates from there. We've often done days to France and weekends in Spain.
That something I'd never noticed before. You didn't live too far from me then. I was on Nelson Rd in Gillingham which is the road with the bus depot on. Lived in Rochester before that at Cecil Rd. Kent has some beautiful parts. The Oasthouses etc are lovely. Need deep pockets for those though
Yes very happy with the decision. I miss friends and family and wish we could visit more but i don't regret leaving. Even if we decided to move back we've had a hell of an adventure. Do you live there?
Thanks. I was a postman there for 7 years. Every street brought back memories.
Fantastic, glad you got a lot out of it and thanks for your service.

What part of Kent? I used to spend nearly every summer in Cornwall at Redruth. Lovely place but Kent is great too.
