Love the music. I used to live in Sheffield, now live in Queensland, Australia. I had to laugh when I saw the cartons of eggs outside the shops. If anybody did that in our climate, the eggs would be cooked in their shells
I recognised so many places, but sadly none of the people were familiar. For starters most of them looked happy. The people of Sheffield were known for being friendly. My mother came here in 1963 from county Cork in Ireland 🇮🇪. She said the people were so lovely and welcoming.
nice memories. Most will probably disagree but when i was youger in sheff in the 80s i feel it had much mor character than the regenerated and trendy looking sheff of now.
Bonnie Cat The majority of them are pushing up daisies. Some of the children pictured might be grandparents or even great grandparents by now. But most of them would'nt have seen 1990.
Oh my childhood in Sheffield untill i spent the next 40 year's travelling the globe now iam back worn out 😅 Love my city as it used to be Now they the council have raped the industrial heritage
That’s how I remember Sheffield when I was a kid. 👍👍
The days when Sheffield was still a great city. Love this video thank you.

Significantly for the better

Frog man Luke spot on mate we have to make the most of it certainly
Agreed.
Character yes but it was is desperate need of a revamp. It was a urine filled slum once you looked beyond the rose tinted specs
Love it Thanks so much
Like the old pics , people walking in the street not littered by cars .Public toilets everywhere - that dog 2:09 .
People still walk. Bet you are the same person who moans about it being difficult to drive in Sheffield too is true hypocritical south Yorkshire style
excellent, thanks
3.30 - ruddy hell! There's flats built there now !
4.31 - is that Sharrowvale Road again - Roney's on the far corner? Still there ...
I would have been born in sheffield if my late dad didn't get off at stoke when he moved from newcastle upon tyne for a job down the mines
No road works?!???😮
Whats the music?
Zen koan Bjorn Lynne.
Just beautiful with great music too.
These people in the pictures just going about their business I’d love to know what they’re doing now

It might look a shithole... but it's my shithole. And I love it... especially when I see a car I once owned. Brilliant

The sty still looks like shyte to this day 😉
Uto!
Try growing up and being an adult !
@@michael7286 Apologies, just having a bit of banter.
You need to lighten up pal, life's too short.
I can only see a decline..no improvement of this.
Bustling town centre then now nothing apart from beggars
Sadly these days are gone...multiculturalism hasn't made the place any better for sure.
God it looks grim!
Haha
Leeds in the early 70's was grimmer.
Oh my childhood in Sheffield untill i spent the next 40 year's travelling the globe now iam back worn out 😅
Love my city as it used to be
