Das Wetter war während dieser Südtour extrem schlecht. Starkregen, kräftiger Wind und kühle Temperaturen. Aber dadurch entstanden auch Aufnahmen, wie sie nicht jeder zu sehen bekommt.
Start war in Le Morne. Von dort ging es zum Aussichtspunkt Maconde. Dann ging es weiter an die Südküste, wo kein Riff existiert und die hohen Wellen ungebremst auf das Land prallen. Der aussergewöhnliche Wellengang läßt sich gut in Gris Gris und La Roche qui pleure beobachten. Die Teeplantage fiel wie die pitoresken Rochester Falls sprichwörtlich ins Wasser.
Das Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao), eine bedeutende hinduistische Pilgerstätte und die Alexander Falls waren in strömenden Regen zu erleben. Von den Black River Gorges war wetterbedingt nicht viel zu sehen.
Besser wurde es Richtung Westküste in Chamarel. Sowohl die Wasserfälle als auch die siebenfarbige Erde konnten wir ohne Schlechtwetter erleben.
