Hey Cam, just wanted to say thanks for your takes and commentary. It’s been rough out there for me. Lost my dad on Halloween he was 57. Couldn’t keep out of the bottle. My mother in law is living with my wife kids and I. She is 76. Got the Alzheimer’s Parkinson’s dementia combo. I say that to say your commentary always takes my mind off of it for a bit and reminds me of things. Everything will be perfect 👍 Thanks mate.

Take care @bradpittman5075. You're part of the Cam Community here and there is support. Yes, Cam is great for pulling us into his F1 world in brilliant individual style. Keep strong; my Uncle has dementia and it takes a big toll on the family, so I get that you and your family will be struggling too. Love and strength✊⭐⭐⭐

    - he's cost the team more in damages than he brings in from the Mexican government/business.
    - he's crashed more times than mazapin.
    - he's cost the team the constructors whilst max ran the show AGAIN!
    - he's been keeping a seat from younger drivers who are far more worthy of it.
    - he's been lucky to have been fired by COTA, the usually ruthless redbull have been VERY lenient with him.
Sooooo remind me again how people are sticking up for the Mexican minister of disgrace?

All true but what Max said made sense. He said i had jt very difficult with this car so it was much harder for Checo and that is also true.

As an overall career , Checo deserves respect.
Like Mansell at Ferrari doesnt make him a less of a pilot either.
Im contrarian and Im sticking to it.

      He does.
So many drivers compete without a podium let alone multiple race wins.
Just feel the decision would have been cleaner if they had not re-newed his contract.

Wasn't Hadjar the slowest rookie FP1 at Silverstone even slower than Alpine.
Hadjar's biggest issues are temper, lack of awareness of others on track, and incredibly whiny. He needs a year in Japanese Super Formula. My fear is being dropped in now to F1 will doom him.

F1 is hard. 98% is preperation. 2% is finishing the race.
Why else do you think Max only will stay to serve his contract and keep his promise ?
He is going to do WEC and enjoy life. (Just like the family man did)

No doubt Horner signed Checo because of the conflict thus ensuring his loyalty but it wasn't because of Max. In my view Max distanced himself from his dad publicly, in a respectful and subtle way, when he started that press conference by proclaiming his father was part of his team and would always be so to then go on and set the whole affair aside as unwanted unnecessary commotion he could very much do without. Max talking about how he had to overcome things by himself this year and mentioning he was proud of himself he managed to do so, I took as alluding to that. An idea strengthen by the fact this is the first time they didn't do an interview together after winning the WC.

I cant understand as well, why so many people feel sorry for Checo.
Schadenfreude is maybe a bit to much, but the decision itself is 2, maybe even 3 years to late, imo.
But in general the management from RB was awful during the last years and even that season would have been a complete exposure of that, if Max would have left.
    But of course he didnt.
So the best teammate for Max would be Hulk imo. Nico was not patient enough this year. The Sauber deal wasnt running away.
He has a very good relationship with Max (they are both speaking dutch and german) and Hulk gave Max even a slipstream in Imola quali this year :D
And the best side effect: Nico would have achieved a podium in F1 (effing finally ;)

32:48 I know a lot of people were hoping to rekindle the Sainz interest in Red Bull, but I seriously doubt they will be able to afford paying Checko out of his contract plus a premium driver like Sainz. They will definitely have to go with Yuki or Lawson which they can pay significantly less.

Lawson has forever earned a place in my heart for giving Checo the finger. Whether or not I like the guy remains undetermined, but I'm willing to give him a lot of leeway as a fan just because he gave Perez the bird. I've says it for a little while now, Lawson is willing to play the villain and the heel if he needs to do so to get ahead and to get attention in F1. I'm not sure he can pull it off, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now because that bird was worth a lot of brownie points for me as a fan.
Still, I'd give him a full season at the junior team before promoting him straight into the factory team. It's ludicrous that they're seemingly going to give that seat to Lawson first. That's asking for more trouble than I think they realize, and I think they're overestimating the trouble they think Tsunoda will bring.

RB was more than fair to Perez and was given a good chance to improve. He is nice guy but being nice don't bring in and if you don't deliver that is it.

Perez - we have to remember when Perez was extended, McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari were not looking like winners, then that changed. And Red Bull did not realise the extent of their problem, likely believing they were soon going to be right.
Then it all unfolded, Red Bull went backwards, McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes all stepped up. Had just one of them stepped forward. Then they would have picked up the Drivers and Constructors.
i can see Red Bull thinking back then that they would be all good with Perez.

Has there ever been so much coverage of a moderately talented driver with a long career losing their ride after more than a year and a half of unacceptably poor performances? What is really going on here? Why is everyone supposed to care?

    • @twanheijkoop6753

Because it was long overdue, if they dropped him in 2023 there wouldn't have been as much to talk about.
Plus redbull being known for their ruthlessness in making driver changes makes them holding on to checo for this long stand out.
