About MINI USA: Since its introduction in 1959, MINI has stood for intelligent design, iconic style and unparalleled motoring thrills. The original Mini was developed in response to a fuel shortage in the wake of the Suez Canal crisis. In 1957, Alec Issigonis, the top engineer of the Morris Company, was challenged to design and build a small, fuel-efficient car capable of carrying four adults, and what he built was a perfect balance of fuel efficiency, functionality and fun. It’s from this heritage that the philosophy of MINImalism was inspired. MINImalism is a commitment to doing more with less, and these virtues were not lost on the endlessly inventive mind of racing pioneer John Cooper. He recognized the performance potential in the Mini’s uncompromised simplicity and turned it into a world-champion rally car.
The current MINI family builds on the tradition of the classic Mini, adding state-of-the-art technology and modern levels of safety, quality and reliability. And now there is a MINI model to suit just about everyone. Drivers can choose from the iconic MINI Cooper Hardtop, the open-air motoring experience of the MINI Convertible, the versatile MINI Clubman, the surprisingly roomy four-door MINI Countryman, available with all-wheel drive or the new sporty, two-seat MINI Coupe. And all are famous for their creative use of space and nimble go-kart handling.
This is the place to get the latest news about MINI. You can let your opinions be known, connect with other MINI enthusiasts, share your experiences and post your best pics and videos.
At MINI, we believe that if we all respect each other and remember to laugh a little more and be nice, the roads and the world they connect will be more enjoyable places. So, let’s keep it clean.

Man, I just bought my Cooper and I was like "The turn signal has a mind of its own!" I needed to know how this worked. Thank you.

Just got my cooper and the blinkers were very confusing for me. This tutorial helps me understand it better now.

I have a mini 2007 and I am not getting these symbols when i do this. I can only change the time and date. Nothing else comes up.. what do i do? I've tried doing it with just the key in and car off. But nothing changes. HELP! :(

If I put the blinker on but didn't take the turn how do I get it to turn off

Do about a half tug down or up (the opposite of whatever direction you're turning). That will turn it off.

The "half tug" isn't really a solution in my opinion. All that does is active the lane-change signal for the opposite direction. Of course it means that the indicators will flash 3 times and then all signalling finally stops, but all of that can be confusing to other drivers, and even dangerous.
Fact of the matter is the turn signal design is asinine and not fit-for-purpose. There was nothing wrong with signal stalks that stayed up or down, and self-cancelled after making a turn, or by the driver manually returning the stalk to center position. It did not need to be reinvented period, and worse yet, in one of the most user-unfriendly ways.
How a panel of engineers and testers allowed it to go into final production, is beyond me

How do you make it make the clicking noise though?

Do you mean when you activate the signal and it makes a sound? If so, you have to have the vehicle on for that to happen. The car is off in this video.
