You can tell Elco is putting a lot of effort into distilling all the complex technology into Laymans terms. It is greatly appreciated. Although I can’t pretend to understand everything, I could listen to him talk and learn all day long. Thank you.

"By integrating, we buy freedom." Grimm isn't the only manufacturer to combine functions in one chassis, but a streamer + DAC makes a lot of sense and their MU1 streamer is all about music. To optimize the MU1 by adding a DAC (was a pro audio DAC their first product many years ago?) should yield something worth hearing.
grimm is not a manufacturer they just buying parts from somewhere else nothing else
@@I-tg4dr I had forgotten I wrote that but the MU2 is indeed an extraordinary streamer/DAC. Many, many hours of daily listening has confirmed it. :)
I think it is accurate to say that most of the recent advances in more realistic sound from DACs results from software implementation. Even for those manufacturers who use part of the functionality of off-the-shelf D/A chips while customizing software for the other parts of the functions, software has led the way. Even more so for "chip-less" designs like the MU2. But the best way to test any theory is to try one at home.
