Thanks for the Debellation review!!! Loved hearing honest thoughts on the demo!! Gives an idea of where to focus. First attempt at self production lol. Never heard of Your Demise and will have to check em out!
Thanks for the love homies! To your question; I have a couple of different approaches to writing/recording that yield different results. In the past I would start with writing the guitar/vocal and try to have a tune roughly completed before starting to think about the arrangement more broadly. The basic drum parts are usually apparent to me based on what the guitar is doing. Once I get a scratch recording of the rough elements together I’ll start trying to hear where the decorative stuff like fills/riffs/percussion etc could go and then I just plug away at it until I’m happy with the details. These days I tend to write in chunks; I’ll start with a riff or a drum part and try to flesh out a part before moving to the next part and the next until I have an approximate instrumental track. Then I’ll use that to start thinking about the vocal melody (which I prioritize over the lyric) and then start trying to plug in the lyrics (which is by far the hardest part) once I have the bones there I go in and start fleshing out the arrangement with all the details. Sometimes (like in the case of deathbed and paradox) the process happens in a matter of 4 or 5 days and sometimes, like in the case of the one I’m working on, I’ll fuss over it for months (if I get hung up on something that isn’t working). No mountain of new stuff atm though! The three I put out recently was the mountain :) looking forward to finishing this new one so I can move on and make more! Thanks again dudes, love ya!

Fun fact: the spoken part in holotov is actually a sample from a Noam Chomsky lecture.
Thanks again for the love, homies!
