    The annual Christmas show at my barn took place December 15th 2018! Thanks a lot to my friend Hanne Wilhelms (www.hannewphotography.com) for filming and editing this video ❤️😍
    Puissance/Chase me Charlie dec. 2018
    Yep, we jumped a fence bigger than my horse!
    The annual Christmas show at my barn- and we took part in the costume jumping/puissance (height jumping)! Cara is only about 1.56cm (15.1hh) and we won the puissance by jumping 1.60m 😱 we knocked down the 1.60m jump, and I decided not to give it a second try since she already performed so well and actually jumped a fence that’s bigger than her. But we still won by clearing 1.50m. Such an awesome little horse, and an amazing experience
    We also did the costume jumping, dressed up as.. Christmas 😂🎄
    Thanks for watching!

    I am wondering why they didn’t widen the oxer? What an effort with it that narrow 😅

      I mean, it's still quite difficult to jump 1.60m on it's own without the last pole

    • @kbequestrian128
      @kbequestrian128 5 лет назад +5

      Cassandra Lauren horse’s naturally jump wider than they do high, so to make the effort easier and more natural over the fence, the back pole on the oxer should have been pulled out to widen the jump to give the horse an easier time.

    i dont know why your puting your horse through high jumps with so much impact this is why jumpers who jump this high thair horses dont live long and i think 3 foot should be the limit

    Why would you even jump that high?! Yes, it looks cool but it's not at all good for the horse. And don't come at me with "the horse wouldn't do it if it was bad for it" a horse doesn't know that it will get arthritis in its legs from this. And they are flight animals so they'll do something if they trust you and you want them to do it even though they might not like it

    • @ThereseMoser
      @ThereseMoser  5 лет назад +3

      Jesus Christ i did it once. One time. One fence. If a wild horse panicked I’m sure it would jump a huge jump too to survive. And I’m sure it wouldn’t kill it 😂😂😂

    • @beepbeepimasheep7347
      @beepbeepimasheep7347 5 лет назад +1

      @@ThereseMoser literally in every video I've seen from you, you jump pretty high. Every jump, especially the ones over one meter, can and will hurt the horse over time.

    • @beepbeepimasheep7347
      @beepbeepimasheep7347 5 лет назад +1

      @@ThereseMoser and if a wild horse panicked, it would run around the jump, if possible, as the jump would slow the horse down and might even lead to injury and a horse knows that.

      @@beepbeepimasheep7347 If managed properly jumpers live well and sound in to their twenties, you can jump your horse quite often and have them sound for a very long time afterwards as long as you do it right with periods of rest. Plenty of GP horses retire from elite shows at around 17-18 to become junior horses at 1.40m not uncommon at all! Which you'd know if you actually bothered to look into it. Not every horse has the material to be a sport horse, but if you train responsibly jumping over 1m really isn't that big of a deal. Or at least it shouldn't be for a fit and sound horse.

    • @Amanda-rv5hz
      @Amanda-rv5hz 5 лет назад

      also Therese barely jumps Cara at all since she can't pay for lessons, she literally spends like 99% of the time on the flat which you'd know if you actually bothered to watch one of her videos. Having a montage from different lessons and shows isn't representative for all of her training. We only get to see a fraction of it and of course she'd rather show us the high jumps rather than all the flatwork she is doing. You can't judge from the very few moments you get to see on yt since all the other countless hours aren't being filmed..
