3 years later this song still makes me cry every time I hear it, I remember how beautiful it sounded at your funeral. I love you so much, I don't know where I'd be if you were still here with me today I miss you every day and not a day goes by where I can't believe you're gone.
I first came across this song when I was 17 and had just lost my father. Used to listen to it every night while soaking my pillow wet. Years later this song still has the same effect on me
Thanks for sharing. I really feel for your loss and I'm sadden to hear what you associate this song with. Maybe keep in mind that this song is about the struggle of accepting death and reality. Although trying to believe in heaven isnt scientific - the idea that heaven might exist made the loss easier to accept. He may have regretted not being able to say good-bye, but he ended up not killing himself and was able to keep moving forward thanks to that belief. This is a beautiful song and I hope you'll be able to keep moving forward too.
A simple, beautiful, poignant song. Great lyrics, amazing instrumentation. Yellowcard deserves more recognition for this song. One of my favorites now and forever.
This song, this album brings me back when I studied abroad to the US and listened over and over on the bus the way from school to homestay. Time passed, life stage changed I’m falling into my memories back in 13 years ago. Far memory I think of it sometimes from 🇯🇵
The juxtaposition between the sad lyrics and the upbeat music makes it even more sad... Almost like a feigned happiness trying to hide what he feels on the inside. The lady singing kind of detracts from the loneliness of the song imo, but this is still one of my favorite Yellowcard songs.
I'm just so tired Won't you sing me to sleep And fly through my dreams So I can hitch a ride with you tonight , And get away from this place Have a new name and face It just ain't the same without you in my life. Late night drives All alone in my car I can't help but start singing lines From all our favourite songs And melodies in the air Singing life just ain't fair Sometimes I still just can't believe you're gone. and I'm sure the view from heaven Beats the hell out of mine here And if we all believe in heaven Maybe we'll make it through one more year down here. Feel your fire when it's cold in my heart and things sorta the start reminding me of my last night with you I only need one more day Just one more chance to stay I wish that I had gone up with you too. And I'm sure the view from heaven Beats the hell out of mine here And if we all believe in heaven We can make it through one more year down here. You won't be coming back and I didn't get to say goodbye. I really wish I got to say goodbye. I'm sure the view from heaven Beats the hell out of mine here And if we all believe in heaven Maybe we'll make it through one more year down here. I hope that all is well in heaven cause it's so shot to hell down here. I hope that I find you in heaven cause I'm so lost without you down here. You won't be coming back and I didn't get to say goodbye I really wish I got to say goodbye.
I just lost my American friend about 2 weeks ago. She died after a heart transplant due to internal bleeding 3 days before her birthday. Asheley, I believe you are in heaven now, laughing at me for being sad. You really understand me like I understand you, our personality are just weird (: I'll always be your baby bro and you will be always the immature elder sister :) I bet the view from heaven is better than here. Watch over me will ya?
This Song just Made me shred my tears in happiness, in reminding of a girl i get to meet again by a year, but i did'nt get to say goodbye! MISS YA STILL!
My nana passed away on thanksgiving, just 2 days ago surrounded by 4 generations of family. I am so grateful that I was actually able to say goodbye and I just know that one day I'll find her in heaven but for now I'll be lost without her down here. This woman raised me and later in life I got the pleasure of helping take care of her. I've been a YC fan since '03 and every time I heard this track I'd think of my grandma. I knew that one day she would have to leave this world and this song always made me think of missing her in the future (similar to yc's Life of a Salesman reminding my of my papa). Not even a powerful song such as this could have prepared me for such a devastating loss but now that she's passed on, some of these lyrics, well, they just hit home harder than I thought they would. Plus, with the general nastiness of 2020 it really is "shot to hell down here".
I feel that it is rather appropriate that this song (and the album, for that matter), the song that reminds me every time I hear it of my late childhood friend, be released almost exactly on the one year anniversary of his passing. RIP, man.
I lost my best friend yesterday. And to say I’m lost is an understatement. During the day I can keep it together but as soon as the sun sets I lose it. I miss him so much all I can do it cry and scream. I know he’s in a better place than we are. I’m sure wherever he is he’s finally at peace, and he’s happy. But the ones he left behind are trying to pick up the pieces. I don’t know where to start. My heart is just gone..it’s not broken, it’s just gone. It’s like he took it with him when he left. I don’t know why I listen to songs like this because they just make me cry but knowing that I’m not alone in my grief helps a little. But god do I miss him. And I’m so angry at him. How dare he leave me here. After I tried so hard to help him, after what I did. How dare he. Drugs are bad. Drugs are so bad. Don’t try them, not even one time. You think they’re so cool until your best friend doesn’t wake up.
I'm just so tired Won't you sing me to sleep And fly through my dreams So I can hitch a ride with you tonight And get away from this place Have a new name and face I just ain't the same with out you in my life Late night drives All alone in my car I can't help but start Singing lines from all our favorite songs And melodies in the air Singing â??life just ain't fairâ?? Sometimes I still just can't believe you're gone And I'm sure the view from heaven Beats the hell out of mine here And if we all believe in heaven Maybe we'll make it through one more year Down here Feel your fire When it's cold in my heart And things sort of start Reminding me of my last night with you I only need one more day Just one more chance to say I wish that I had gone up with you too And I'm sure the view from heaven Beats the hell out of mine here And if we all believe in heaven Maybe we'll make it through one more year Down here You won't be coming back And I didn't get to say good bye (good bye) And I really wish I got to say Good bye And I'm sure the view from heaven Beats the hell out of mine here And if we all believe in heaven Maybe we'll make it through one more year I hope that all is well in heaven (I'll be singing in heaven?) This is the best album of yellowcard (the original) this albim ia amazing, but i prefer the original one. I'm from venezuela, and i known i never going to watch a live concert of them. Keep doing this lyrics, this kind of music with so much power and good vibe
Ahaha 6 years later and I’m here, it scares me a little that I’m reading your thoughts from 6 years ago and that you are probably a different person than then you prolly won’t see this but I hope you’re doing good lol I didn’t know people used :) at that time cause I was only 8 and didn’t interact in-line as much as now in quarantine lololol
I lost a friend at school two weeks ago, and for various reasons I wasn't there. She got hit by a car; they took her to a nearby hospital but either they made it too late or the blunt force trauma was too severe. It really sucks, because there were really shitty circumstances for both the driver and my friend. I was pretty close to getting over it. Whoops.
would it be the same thing if I said this song is dedicated to my dog? she was hit by a car last Sunday. We were together for 13 years. But I don't know if I'll ever get through this, and, truth be told, I don't want to know. Greetings from Mexico
EllisFlores you can dedicate this song to whoever you want to. I'm sorry for your loss. Pets are family too. I dedicate this song to my brother I lost 2 years ago. He loved dogs, he'll be playing with them all in heaven :) best wishes from Australia x
I wish they did a slower piano rendition for this song. I think it would be a better fit for the song considering how emotional the lyrics are. Anyone agree with me?
This song should goes out to the victims of the Parkland high school shooting. I hope Ryan plays it at the benefit he's performing with Dashboard Confessional and NFG.
3 years later this song still makes me cry every time I hear it, I remember how beautiful it sounded at your funeral. I love you so much, I don't know where I'd be if you were still here with me today I miss you every day and not a day goes by where I can't believe you're gone.
❤️😭
Who are you talking about?
Did someone involved in the band passed away?
❤
Album is a complete masterpiece....best album of all time!!!
This is, doubtless, the BEST (in violin aspect) Yellowcard track
"I only need one more day, just one more chance to say I wish that I had gone up with you too"........YC is awesome
I first came across this song when I was 17 and had just lost my father. Used to listen to it every night while soaking my pillow wet. Years later this song still has the same effect on me

Imagine listening this in 2023, and still getting goosebumps like it was in the beginning in 2003. 20 years later.... 😌😵🥳
this song helped me through lots of rough times... at a young age. i was 15. im 25 now
. and the view from heaven .. i believe will be.. perfect
This song, this album brings me back when I studied abroad to the US and listened over and over on the bus the way from school to homestay.

I just shed a tears. This song made me miss my Dad.. I love both version of this song!!
RIP Beth 👼 Wish you were still here but I know that you are happier in Heaven.
this one goes for my mom .. i miss you and i cant wait to see you again
C Jones The time will come man, lets keep our head up and enjoy the time we got left! Take care!
This just rocks my world all over again.
This song by far is one of the songs that makes me cry. And this version is just perfection. One of the best albums I could ever own.
I love this song. I dedicate it to my brother and father up there in heaven! ❤

Just three and a half minutes of awesome. To me its the best one of this acoustic set. A banjo! sweet! YC never lets you down. Amazing
This was such a great album. ❤
I personally think the banjo makes a great addition to the original song.
Female vocal with his is the best duo vocal Ive ever heard in a song, it just makes the song. awesome
Que pedazo de canción! YELLOWCARD FOREVER!
female vocal sounds so beautiful ❤️❤️😊

"Sometimes I still just can't believe you're gone"
That replay button doesn't stand a chance!
That "down here" sounds so great.

I always thought he was saying "beats the hell out of right here" until I heard this acoustic "mine here".
OMG I LOVE THIS SONG
Wow I'm still listening to this a year later haha :)

This is beautiful!
Perfection
The girl here, Tiffany Villarreal, can anyone find anything of her? I googled her but the artist I found is unlikely her.
acoustiception! still good! keep on rocking!
Muito bom
VIEW FROM HEAVEN!!!!
When I found out that my friend Vanessa died yesterday, I thought of this song. R.I.P Vanessa. I'll miss you homegirl.
Alieke Wijnveldt, I'm guessing because she was the one who did the vocals for the original View From Heaven on their previous OC Album :)
♥️
Rest In Peace, Early Birdie
Toca ir a verlos afuera, papá, reúne esos churupos, que underdog que se respeta, tiene que verlos en vivo.
I lost a friend at school two weeks ago, and for various reasons I wasn't there. She got hit by a car; they took her to a nearby hospital but either they made it too late or the blunt force trauma was too severe.

Rina Berman im really sorry .... i truly am...
female vocals kick ass
Who that?
Diego Ruiz lmao you’re asking 7 years later lol
would it be the same thing if I said this song is dedicated to my dog? she was hit by a car last Sunday. We were together for 13 years. But I don't know if I'll ever get through this, and, truth be told, I don't want to know. Greetings from Mexico

Definitely! Animals are people too they just come in furry form and with two extra legs!
Blink182Tomforever they're not people, they are way better
A fucking banjo. This is fantastic. Great job YC.
Are you singing in heaveeen? We need youu..
With this song I can make it though more then one more year
I always wondered who that female voice is at 2:23 - or is it a member of the band simply adjusting their voice higher?
It sounds like Cassadee Pope, but I can't get confirmation anywhere.
She is Alieke Wijnveldt. Check this out dude en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowcard
Also, sorry for being 6 years late hahaha
Actually, according to the booklet on iTunes, the female vocals is by Tiffany Villareal
rip richard
I wish they did a slower piano rendition for this song. I think it would be a better fit for the song considering how emotional the lyrics are. Anyone agree with me?

yijaaa!!! #cowboy
Has it really been ten years? 12 years old to 22. Lots have changed, but not my love for this song.
Sleep well, Tiesha. x
Wait, did they get the original female vocalist back? :O
Anyone know who they got to do the female vocals?
She is Alieke Wijnveldt. Check this out dude en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowcard
Also, sorry for being 6 years late hahaha
André Martins thanks dude appreciate it
Wellllllllll shit. You're right :)
I'm a HUGE Cassadee and YC fan, I wish this was her, but it's not. I'm not sure who it is, but it's not Cass.... /:
Who is that?
Well in this song they did have a female singer but it was just their old bass players sister
yeah i was thinking cassadee pope too
If you're referring to Tay Jardine, I don't thin that her...unfortunately :/
I thought it sounded the same just wasn't sure :)
Beat is really lively but the message of the song is really sad :'(
I'm thinking it's the girl who was on the original album. Alex Lewis's sister.
I thought it sounded the same, just wasn't sure :)
whos the female singer!?
Is that Tay?
Can someone make a guitar lesson here on RUclips? :D
20 people didnt make it one more year......
*Female vocalist
That's who I meant XD
I'm sure it's not cassadee.. but i don't know who...
Sounds like the same girl as in the original track to me. Not 100% sure though.
Beam me up Scotty...
They never had a fea
why he sounded like a chinese dude? tong ting tong
mountainofshithead hahaha idiot
Trump from heaven ?
I'm about to turn 64 and correct me if I'm wrong but YC's Rocket and View from Heaven are masterpieces of loving others while you can.
Mumford and sons wasn't even a band when this song came out, nice try.
Are you singing in heaveeen? We need youu..
