- This past summer Freya Fennwood traveled to Greenland with a three piece take-apart kayak designed specifically for her by her father, John Lockwood, to participate in the 30th Anniversary of Greenland's National Kayaking Championships. The film, "Namesake", follows along as John and Freya experience first-hand the beauty and rich culture of kayaking in Greenland.

What a cool video; I can see why she got the highest score. She's very graceful with her rolls
That last roll is amazing! How is that even possible?
My left ear liked the video.
Love this story!
Those old school skin covered boats are so cool! 5000yr ago, Inuit paddled that design made from bone and skin, miles off shore to hunt for food. Original badassery.
A joy to witness the Greenland tradition and festival and especially the daughter and the father enjoying it together. Loved Freya's child-like jolt of surprise and joy over the successful straitjacket roll. Yeah, Freya, we all saw it! Nice editing!
those kayaks are just beautiful
Enjoyed this very much. I grew up on the River Murray in Australia and I taught myself to Eskimo roll left and right handed, without a paddle, using an old pair of shoes or just my hands. The awesome thing is, that particular skill for inverting has translated awesomely well into Jiu Jitsu, which I've taken up in my mid forties. My body remembered how. These things stick with you. Kayaking Tasmania in a Pittarak kayak was the highlight of my kayaking life. Planning to retire on a boat, which I'm building, so there's something about the kayaking life and the water which gets in your veins.
I appreciate your humbleness!
Way to go Freya! Such a cool video.
Wonderful experience, thanks for sharing. I am hoping the Pygmy company get get its doors open soon. You guys have some tremendous designs
Amazing! Thanks for sharing Freya, very cool and interesting. Amazing and artistic skills!
Great story and superb skill all the way around. What a treat to share that with father and daughter. Thank you.
Love this... thank you for sharing I too got my daughter into kayaking when she was 12 years old, that was a long time ago.
Thanks for sharing! Phenomenally skilled people. Everyone who trains to compete and improves as a consequence "wins".
Amazing on so many levels. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
I loved this video. Thank you for your efforts.
Very cool! I built an Arctic Tern17 and wanna do a SOF next, but I really should learn to reliably roll first...
Right on. Qajaq FTW!
