"A little bird" told me that no "Cummings" [sic] engines are made in the United States. Doing a little research, I found at least 12, from Jamestown, New York to Clovis, New Mexico.
Same birdy told me there aren't any Caterpillar plants in the U.S. I found at least 2:
    Seguin, Texas and Griffin, Georgia.
Just thought "Ron" would be interested.

wonder if enclosed one that looks to have the air cooled engine covered in the exact same way and insulation as the chines ones will still cook its self like the chines ones do under 3/4 load

Well I own one of these 'other' generators, and I have to say they aren't that bad! Like you say, mine has the simple capacitor to smooth the output. I specifically bought the generator because of this, as I see the AVR as something complicated that will go wrong! The generator in the clip at 4:13 is being started for the first time, so has airlocks in the Injection system. It is nothing to do with the cold weather. A bit bias I think......

You can judge the quality of this Chinese junk by the wording on the stickers:
    "...unfix the fuel joint..."
    "At last please..."
    and my personal favorite:
"...when there have not any air bladder..."
Don't buy this junk, people. First time it quits producing energy, you're screwed unless seller has proof of extensive state-side parts inventory. I mean PROOF, not his word.
I'm talking pictures of stock w/proof it's in the US and even then I'd be skeptical.
    Solid plastic wheels..?
