They were real to me the moment Sanemi used his style. How is he ranked lower than Tengen in strength and can just create “air” able to destroy an entire area??
Also lets not forget the prime moment where the fire from tanjiros sun breathing slows down a demons healing process and gives them the feeling that they were burning
Sure, that could be caused by shock-waves that are just likened to the elements for a visual metaphor. But, Tanjiro literally trains with dead-people he's never met in basically the second arc of the series. At that point I'd just let you believe whatever.
And by breathing properly he can... magically enchant his katana with the durability to withstand a full powered swing at a boulder..... And also cut a giant boulder in half with one swing of a little sword.
The show isn't /devoid/ of supernatural things, demons themselves, aside from the transformation process being "purely biological" are supernatural creatures since, for the most part, the blood demon arts are magical powers. Just because the human characters can't create fire out of thin air (which wouldn't be able to block air shockwaves in the first place), doesn't mean they can't do ANY supernatural things. Their speed & strength are supernatural, being born with 8x muscle density is supernatural, the slayer marks are caused by them /somehow/ heating their bodies up to over 200 degrees, and then spreading that heat to their blades.
@@jeff3221 The durability of the katana is quite literally just "oh the sword is made of [insert fictional metal] so its way more durable than ordinary weapons". This is VERY common in fictional settings such as marvel's uru, vibranium, adamantium, etc.
and cutting the boulder in half is again, an example of the supernatural elements of the story. The humans are by no means 'ordinary', however that doesn't mean they can just magically conjure fire & water.

Not all of Gyutaro's slashes seem to explode but all explosions seem to because of Gyutaro's slashes case and point during their epic last clash when the camera is rotating around them the ground that's exploding is first struck by Gyutaro's slashes. @@stealth6375 The problem is the author themself stated that water breathing isn't real water. I'd be fine if it was real as long if it weren't for the author's statement. As for the speed of demon slayer characters. Tanjiro was casually dodging Kyogai's claw marks which were speed of sound. When a slayer becomes a hybrid, their blood demon art enhances their breathing, and the two hybrids seemed to create real elements because of this. That would mean the high tiers in the show are faster than lightning, including Zenitsu who was faster than Kaigaku.
For moment's like when tanjiro redirected the arrows or when rengoku block that attack, I think that is the pressure from the swinging of their swords and the air pressure took form of their breathing stances.
Sun breathing may be the only “exception” from this since it “burns” demons through the bright red nichirin sword. Its like being sliced with a really hot iron sword Daki felt burning not because the hinokami fires are actually there but because the sword is literally burning her since tanjiro is tapping into his hinokami powers
They explain that the reason the swords burn is because the immense strength of the user gripping the sword heats up the metal. This is achieved bc Breathing gives users a huge increase in strength at the cost of decreasing their lifespan. This is just physics. When the users get their black marks on their skins they've unlocked the most powerful level of Breathing at which point the metal is so hot it burns. This is true of every style, not just Sun breathing.

The steel has the power of the sun. Additionally, masters of breathing styles can put so much power into their swings that the blade heats up which is why they change color. This is explained like 7 different times.

I believe this is just anime logic to what is "real", but in concept, most of these things are anime-only features. There is some unholy logic sometimes but its like Sword styles in OP not being "powers". This is only Breathings tho, actual paranormal things in Demon slayer can be listed: - The Demons themselves - The Demon Blood Arts - The "Slayer Mark" technique - The "Bright Red Nichirin" technique - "See Through World" - The Breathing technique as a whole. Not the styles, but the technique to breath to enchanted your styles, which lets them move at auperspeed, superstrength, etc. They are necessary for the Breathing Styles to work and yet the Author feels like he was lazy to explain it properly, which causes most of the confusion. - ... Ghosts.
I have a simple theory for this. It is represented with elemental stuff as fire or water, but what if it's actually just wind pressure produced by their intense swordsmanship. That would explain why they can do stuf like Rangoku blocking attacks with the "fire" he generates or Tanjiro's redirecting arrows with "water" and saving his life from a free fall. So in conclusion: it's just wind pressure with skins reflecting their fighting style. I could be wrong tho, there are things I'm not too convinced about, so feel free to correct me on those.
Or the element is just mimicked effect of the REAL element that only works on demons, not the environment. Like when Rengoku blocked Akaza's air attack, yes AIR ATTACK. If it mimicks the effect of the element, then that would mean: "Fire needs air = Fire survives with air" Now I posted a half theory on a another video, it is a long comment. If you want to read it, just tell me and I will post it here. Another thing when people start implying science into this, (not you, you said you could be wrong😊) I think those people don't think about the author. I'm preaty sure the author wasn't like: " I will put in this manga air friction, shock waves, breaking sound barriers...". SHE IS A MANGA WRITER/ILLUSTRATOR, she dosen't have a PHD in science Also when people explain how the attack is performed, you know "He Is JuSt DaShIng". Those people are pulling that s**t from wiki FANDOM, The author has never said how every individual attack works, she said in that note about the elements "they think they see and feel it" (chapter 151.5 ). And peope say IMAGINING. Imagining and thinking are not the same, she said the think they see it. She also said they FEEL it, people leave that part out. Now if you want to read my theory, just say it. I have some proof there that backs me up. Again for all those, theory is about THE ELEMENTS NOT BEING REAL, IT IS A ENERGY THAT MIMICKS THE EFFECT OF THE REAL ELEMENT. It is based on the authors words.
@@lucianvukusic795 Hmm, that does sound plausible, it's not exactly how I put it in my theory above but it's more or less how I figured in my mind. TBF I never really paid much attention to the elemental stuff in the show in the first place, since the first time I saw Tanjiro doing water breathing techniques all I thought was "hah, rule of cool, nice" I never really thought to myself that he was summoning water or any of the others respective elements, since from my point of view it was more about visual representation of what the technique itself is doing without necessarily being exactly what's happening on the spot. That being said, now that the question was posted I still find it fun to theorise and see what people, such as yourself, come up with to try and explain this stuff, either scientifically or philosophically since both could apply to an extent so I too felt inclined to ponder about what is it they're doing from my personal perspective and inviting others to share their thoughts for the sake of argument and, of course, for fun. And on that same token, sure thing, I'd like to see your theory. ^^ As for me I personally don't have much else to add since my knowledge of this series is currently limited to the anime so I might be missing some stuff, but I'd still like to discuss this kinda stuff.
@@pepenaman This is the theory, I hope you like it. Share to me your thoughts after you read it. At the end of the day, everybody has the right for their own opinion😊 The author also said that they can see them and feel them, they are not real elements. It is like mimicking the effect of the real element, the mimicked effect only works on demons, not humans or the enviroment. That is because the breathing styles were created only for killing demons and helping demon slayers, not killing humans and destroying places. When Tanjiro had that water dragon (Enmu fight) people say " the dragon riped his head of", no it didn't. If you look caerfuly the dragon pushed Tanjiro's blade deeper. If the elements were real, then Tanjiro's dragon would fall because of gravity, fire would burn everyithing.... The mimicked effect of the element serves demon slayers as a booster for their movements and attacks, like mimicked lightning incresing Zenitsu's speed, mimicked water incresing flexibility, mimicked fire dameging demon's bodies and making shields. But the mimicked effect works only on demon's attacks and bodies. I think they can see the mimicked elements because of their fighting spirt and confidence. You will ask me " If it is a mimicked effect of the element, how did Akaza and his clothes not get burned?" He did but his clothes regenerated too. Let me explain. When Tanjiro goes berserk and has blood eyes he uses hinokami to fight Daki he catches her leg and cuts it of with her sock and shoe, she regenerates her leg and clothes/shoe. She is UM 6 and Akaza is UM 3 so he has greater and faster healing factors then Daki. Ofcourse not all demons do this, but most of them do, in the manga and anime. Kokushibo's kimono gets torn to shreds, he had the same thing for 490 years and he was a good swordsmen so he probably didn't get hit that often and didn't see the need to repair it. When people say that Rengoku didn't make a shield of fire and was actually swinging his sword fast like Flash, I think neither is correct. First it is not real fire, it is energy (ki energy/spiritual energy) mimicking the effect of fire, and Akaza's attack was an air attack. That is right AIR. If it is mimicking the effect of real fire then that would mean: Fire needs and cons1umes air. That is probably how he was blocking it. Now if he really did move his sword that fast he would have probably killed Akaza, because no one moves that fast except Giyu when he uses 11th form but has to stay still to keep his calmness. This manga is in my opinion half shonen and half realistic. There are ghost children, transparent world, marks that increase power, movement, flexibility, mimicked effect of the real elements. Yorrichi was born with the mark and was the stongest demon slayer, people referred to him like a spirit, so he was probably some kind of demigod( hafl human, half god), he lived above 25 and was still in his prime at 86. So if he existed and all the other things that I said, we can probably say that some kind of higher force (God) gave him the mark and the ability to mimic the effect of the Sun's fire. It probably made Yorrichi so he can scare/kill Muzan to end his tyranny. It probably made the ability only to mimic the elements and hurt only demons because demons are evil and no one should have the power like Muzan and the power to destroy everything with elements. Now the last two things before I end this essay, due to the Japans belif in many Gods it was prbably Hinokami (fire god) that made this mimicking ability. 2nd thing is Akaza did have burn marks in the anime and the manga. After he put his fist through Rengoku, you can see the side of his face has burn marks, in the anime they are colored and in the manga they are black. Due to the fact that Rengoku used a large amount of mimicked effect of the fire it realy burned Akaza. Both addaptations are correct. When you really burn something in real life (meat, flesh) it is black and burning yourself when you lose a limb can stop 90% of the bleeding. That was why Akaza wasn't bleeding so much. He didn't burn all the way because he is a demon and has high resitances but he is not invincible. He didn't feel pain because the sun only causes him pain. Now this whole essay was based on the authors statement and a little bit of theory. And again: THOSE ARE NOT REAL ELEMENTS, IT IS PROBABLY AN ENERGY THAT MIMICKS THE LOOKS AND EFFECTS OF THE REAL ELEMENTS.
@@lucianvukusic795 Hmm, that's a fairly interesting concept for the series, and it does seem to fit with the theme of Demon Slayers using techniques exclusively for killing demons and demons only. I could also be a way to explain how certain characters seem broken in comparison with other supposedly powerful characters. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it was an informative read. ^^ Now I don't 100% agree with everything stated here, but I also don't think there is a definitive answer unless the author explicitly states so, but even then it's always fun to theorise and discuss so I don't really have much of an objection to that, so thanks again for this exchange, twas a pleasure. 👍

It’s vary confusing cause sometimes demon say stuff like they can’t see it like when daki was confused by the way tanjiro cut her belt and she commented that it was burning and was not Regenerating normally
I still believe that the elements are moreso a representation of the movements, force, and techniques behind there actions rather than actually being there
Not to mention Tanjiro hears Zenitsu's Thunderclap from a distance twice. Once when they're at the woods with the brother and sister demons, and again Tanjiro hears Thunderclap from outside the Mugen Train
The elements aren't there. This can be explained by multiple powers that exist: Expanded Force: The user can exert forces onto other things and people that cover and affect more area of their bodies than the usual force, meaning instead of exerting force on a certain area of that body, more parts, such as a whole torso and the head can be affected with the same strike or push. Pressure Strike: The user can strike from a distance by generating with a wave of pressure/shockwave. Slash Projection: The user can project the slashing effect of bladed weapons as if they were a projectile. Rather than simply creating razor-sharp air currents via movement pressure, this actually acts as an extension of the blade, carrying its sharpness and properties to a range longer than the physical weapon. Cutting Wave: The user can project matter/energy in a way that allows them to cut through matter from a distance. Although this attack does usually slashing damage, some users are able to focus it into single piercing stab like immaterial bullet. All of these can be covered artistically with the elemental affects. As for Rengoku- Enhanced Leap: The user can jump farther than average members of their species. They can leap farther than even the greatest human athlete. Impressive feats include being able to jump over large fences, clear big holes in the ground, jump from building top to building top, and etc. Supernatural Leap: User can jump incredible distances and land safely, covering frighteningly tall heights and long distances. Usually comes with extremely strong and durable legs. In some cases, a jump can fool an observer into believing the person is "Flying", such as with early Superman comics. The distance of how far a user can jump can be across neighborhoods, canyons, cities, or even across a planet. Height will be equivalent to buildings, mountains, the mesosphere and eventually reaching space. Enhanced Speed: (go to superpower wiki, he literally in the main user of the power) Supernatural Speed: Users can move at speeds drastically beyond what is naturally possible over other beings in their universe because their capabilities are pushed far beyond the natural level, making them immensely faster than regular beings (in that verse) as they can travel anywhere from supersonic to hypersonic speed or even lightspeed and infinitely beyond.
this is some high level cope if ive ever seen it. If they're all ready super human, why not give them the ability to harness the elements??? It's so boring if it's trying to take the elements out of the show
Gaining super human strength, speed, senses, etc is completely different from learning to summon FIRE. Real life people have learned ways to push trucks over with their bare hands, & pull large planes (G Would of Records, look it up) so yeah learned to to do that makes more sense than learning to breathe & cut with water. Heck, with peak human strength we can kick a tree in half, with a SINGLE kick.
@@sloantempest9421 or Gotouge just sucks at differentiating normal sword techniques as she admitted. And byproduct failed on making it look like real sword techniques and instead anime bullshit powers
I guess. Because if the elements are there all the time, a lot more damage would be done. Everyone on the train would be dead cuz the whole train was wood
Then you have Daki, who didn’t have ptsd from Tanjiro’s Sun breathing fire, but did when Nezuko used her blood art. Sure elements may exist, but even if they do they’re still so fucking inconsistent.
i mean, technicaly, its not the fire but the air, since yknow, there is this whole breathing tecnique deal, so maybe the air that powers them up is represented by an element that acts similar
Didn't one of the demons once said he heard a thunder boom when zenitsu used his sword technique, I don't buy that it's not real nonsense because there been numerous times were the demons acknowledged the effects.
Yeah from I remember manga spoiler also when Zenitsu used a more powerful version of thunder breathing first form the brother said “the air is vibrating” When Muichiro was fighting upper moon 5 after he got his mark up5 said something like “the mist is too thick I can’t see!”
@@elfumidoreviscaratoroflung You can vibrate the air by just vibrating your body really fast, and the demon said "it's as if...as if this whole placed is enveloped in mist". Key word being "as if", meaning there's actually no mist there and it's just his techniques giving off the same confusion a thick mist would.
@@elfumidoreviscaratoroflung There are plenty of explanations for Zenitsu and the vibrating air (The strength of his leap created a shockwave etc) but idk about Muichiro. I'm gonna assume the mist is either caused by dust kicked up by Muichiro or Muichiro is exhaling so much that clouds of mist are actually being formed. I'll just chalk it up as an inconsistency.
@@elfumidoreviscaratoroflung firstly zenitsu coudlve just been moving rlly fast causing the breaking of the sound barrier and in that exact same scene there is so called lightning around zenitsu but that same demon doesnt acknowledge it
Let us not also forget that Zenitsu's hair used to be black and turned yellow when struck by lightning, some say it enhanced his thunder breathing plus Tanjiro heard his Thunder Clap from afar. Zenitsu can also break the sound barrier. Now if any of these demon slayers are normal human, they would not be able to do these things not even under intense training. So say the elements are real.
Fr, no way a dude is making a regular sword slash so deep and loud that people halfway across the forest think it's thunder. I understand if it's a few meters away, but they were in a whole other part of the forest with tons of trees between them, and I'm supposed to think that's not real lightning? Okay.

Honestly the only breathing style ( that has special affects and is not used by demon ) I think is really is wind. I may have to reread just in case but at the moment that's what I think.
EXACTLY MY POINT AND IT'S NOT EVEN RENGOKU BY HIMSELF THAT THIS IS PROVEN. When Zenitsu was fighting that spider demon he literally killed the demon and hit THE WOODEN HOUSE SO HARD IT SOUNDED LIKE LIGHTNING and Tanjiro actually acknowledges the sound and wonders if it was actual lightning. Same goes for the Mist and Wind Hashira with some of their attacks actually affecting the area around them from a distant and or making the Demon themselves acknowledge the very element is actually real... EXPLAIN THAT SO CALLED CREATOR This is literally the first time you can't take wat the creator of said as Truth with their own work
It's called jumping really hard. Lightning is just the sound of something travelling through air really fast so if you jumped hard enough it would sound like lightning.
I can actually excuse most of the actions shown here with air Since we can see how ridiculous some breathings are, you could make a point that rengoku moves are just him using his breathing to move that fast and fire himself Same goes for tanjirou, rather than using actual water to re direct the attacks He's using the wind created from the blade to redirect it But I seriously can't explain rengoukus fire block
Probably just style, and that scene where he blocked probably lasted just 1-3 seconds, i mean akaza was floating So that block just blocked akazas attack not by making a fire wall looking thing, just by normal blocking and the reason why it showed that is because of style and for us to better understand what happend it just showed that fire wall looking thing
I think the fire block could just be he blocked all of them at the same time I don’t know like you know how an anime the block a attack when they send multiple act them in like one swing it might’ve been something like that idk Don’t make sense how he blocked it I’m just trying to make sense of it myself

Yeah although tengen, kaigaku, and kokushibo are the main ones that actually manifest their breathing styles. Kokushibo and kaigaku because they're demons. Tengen because he using actual bombs and explosions. Although I wish all of the effects were real, I mean that scene were tomioka is with tanjiro and nezuko, there were butterfly effects which tomioka noticed before shinobu came in to attack. If the effects aren't actually meant to be visible how would tomioka have known shinobu was coming? I mean if it's basically not actual sun effects then muzan should have been able to regenerate from it since its just swordsmanship, along with flame breathing like he said in the video. Unless they spin it with anime/manga logic like "you can see the effects but they just don't effect the environment, just the opponent" sort of direction with it
Even if it was the actual sun, Muzan would've been able to regenerate. I'm pretty sure Muzan didn't regenerate because of the mental impact Yoriichi had on him
its cuz of red nichrin blade thats how they defeated upper moon 1 and how they basically defeated muzan by exerting enough pressure snd grip into your sword you can in turn rapidly heat up the sword however unlike styles it has a actual chemical effect against demons (cuz nichrin is just a sunlight enhanced metal) thus why yourichi was able to scar and heavily damage muzan

The only weird things are rengoku floating and tanjiro not taking fall damage and even then tanjiros can still be explained by some technique to help you land safely while rengokus could literally just be the time slowing down for dramatic effect, remember it’s still an anime, not a live stream. I think it’s plausible and a very cool idea that the breathing techniques are nothing more than techniques. Rengoku blocking pressure? maybe he just swung his sword at the exact point in which the pressure was gonna hit. tanjiro changing the arrows direction? I mean fuck if you’re gonna hit something it’s gonna make it go in that direction that’s just how kinetic energy works.
Supposedly, these effects are just the wind or shockwaves with the elemental effects overlapping them, like One Piece but with extra flair. The only time these things are actually real are if blood demon arts are included with the attack.
Absolutely not. There's literally a thunder breathing form called distant thunder, that shoots lightning from the sword. Kaigaku did not invent a new form because he had demon power. The elements aren't there. This can be explained by multiple powers that exist:
Expanded Force: The user can exert forces onto other things and people that cover and affect more area of their bodies than the usual force, meaning instead of exerting force on a certain area of that body, more parts, such as a whole torso and the head can be affected with the same strike or push.

@@theonewayroad3867ok but what about Teagan blowing stuff up during his battle he only had one hand so he wasn’t throwing bombs mid fight
@ZmeiTheDarkdragon whelp, first off you really can't say he wasn't throwing bombs because he only has one hand, Tengen has shown that he's _really_ good with that one had just look closely at how he's handling his swords during the fight.
Second, if you also pay close enough attention, you'll notice that all the explosions occur at the point of impact of Gyutaro's slashes meaning it's possible it's coming from him but not likely. Not all of Gyutaro's slashes seem to explode but all explosions seem to because of Gyutaro's slashes case and point during their epic last clash when the camera is rotating around them the ground that's exploding is first struck by Gyutaro's slashes.
Third, Sound Breathing has only ever been depicted as Uzui reading movements as soundwaves and musical scores and never about generating explosions, the bombs are always something he physically carries on him so unlike the other Breathing Styles it kinda impossible to confuse it for being part of the Breathing Technique.

He's simply blocked it by spinning the sword, the fire is just visual flair Flame Breathing along with every other Breathing Style does not interact with the environment or Demons like said element should they don't even acknowledge said elements outside of saying that their attacks _are like_ said elements.
The explosions are easily explained as the same thing that causes the majority of this debate "animated spectacle", the anime extends the fight scene adding in their own interpretation visual flair to spice it up this case with this fight as well because Gyutaro and Uzui's "last dance" takes place over a whopping 5 pages and on those 5 the explosions only appear once and the majority Tengen's body obscured....

Thank you. Actions are louder than words. Thank you
For moment's like when tanjiro redirected the arrows or when rengoku block that attack, I think that is the pressure from the swinging of their swords and the air pressure took form of their breathing stances.
Sun breathing may be the only “exception” from this since it “burns” demons through the bright red nichirin sword. Its like being sliced with a really hot iron sword
Daki felt burning not because the hinokami fires are actually there but because the sword is literally burning her since tanjiro is tapping into his hinokami powers

I fully agree with you on this one my brother
I believe this is just anime logic to what is "real", but in concept, most of these things are anime-only features.
There is some unholy logic sometimes but its like Sword styles in OP not being "powers".
This is only Breathings tho, actual paranormal things in Demon slayer can be listed:
- The Demons themselves
- The Demon Blood Arts
- The "Slayer Mark" technique
- The "Bright Red Nichirin" technique
- "See Through World"
- The Breathing technique as a whole.
Yeah that's my guess too.
Or the element is just mimicked effect of the REAL element that only works on demons, not the environment. Like when Rengoku blocked Akaza's air attack, yes AIR ATTACK. If it mimicks the effect of the element, then that would mean: "Fire needs air = Fire survives with air"
Now I posted a half theory on a another video, it is a long comment. SHE IS A MANGA WRITER/ILLUSTRATOR, she dosen't have a PHD in science
Also when people explain how the attack is performed, you know "He Is JuSt DaShIng".
As for me I personally don't have much else to add since my knowledge of this series is currently limited to the anime so I might be missing some stuff, but I'd still like to discuss this kinda stuff.
@@pepenaman
This is the theory, I hope you like it. Share to me your thoughts after you read it.
At the end of the day, everybody has the right for their own opinion😊
The author also said that they can see them and feel them, they are not real elements.
@@lucianvukusic795
Hmm, that's a fairly interesting concept for the series, and it does seem to fit with the theme of Demon Slayers using techniques exclusively for killing demons and demons only. I could also be a way to explain how certain characters seem broken in comparison with other supposedly powerful characters.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it was an informative read. ^^
Now I don't 100% agree with everything stated here, but I also don't think there is a definitive answer unless the author explicitly states so, but even then it's always fun to theorise and discuss so I don't really have much of an objection to that, so thanks again for this exchange, twas a pleasure. 👍

It could be some kind of invisible energy or something, and the fire, water, ect is just to visualize it.
Expanded Force: The user can exert forces onto other things and people that cover and affect more area of their bodies than the usual force, meaning instead of exerting force on a certain area of that body, more parts, such as a whole torso and the head can be affected with the same strike or push.

As for Rengoku-
Enhanced Leap: The user can jump farther than average members of their species.
Enhanced Speed: (go to superpower wiki, he literally in the main user of the power)
Supernatural Speed: Users can move at speeds drastically beyond what is naturally possible over other beings in their universe because their capabilities are pushed far beyond the natural level, making them immensely faster than regular beings (in that verse) as they can travel anywhere from supersonic to hypersonic speed or even lightspeed and infinitely beyond.
this is some high level cope if ive ever seen it.

??? Yes she did we even get a full on explanation about how muzans cells are scared because of Tanjiros sun breathing
i mean, technicaly, its not the fire but the air, since yknow, there is this whole breathing tecnique deal, so maybe the air that powers them up is represented by an element that acts similar
I could not have said it better myself.
This is one of the only things I refuse to consider canon even if said
Yep totally agree
?
If the breathing styles were real Sun breathing would kill demons instantly but It doesn't do shit unless the blade touches them.
Didn't one of the demons once said he heard a thunder boom when zenitsu used his sword technique, I don't buy that it's not real nonsense because there been numerous times were the demons acknowledged the effects.
Yeah from I remember manga spoiler also when Zenitsu used a more powerful version of thunder breathing first form the brother said “the air is vibrating”
When Muichiro was fighting upper moon 5 after he got his mark up5 said something like “the mist is too thick I can’t see!”
@@elfumidoreviscaratoroflung Muichiro moves his body & baggy clothes in a specific manner to create the /illusion/ of mist, it isn't real actual mist.
Okay.
The Demons Slayer devoted their life to killing demons so my head canon is that the Sword techniques are hallucinations caused by harsh training.
That it so dumb that it makes sense, that’s my new take on this lmao
Doctor: Uh tanjiro, u realize ur not actually using water right?
Tanjiro(head cocked to the side swinging his sword trying to drink the water): Y-yes i am!! I worked too hard for it NOT to be real.

Exactly. Demons are a very real thing in this universe, these characters using the elements isn’t a crazy idea 🧐
They could easily could say it’s the stored energy from the sun in the nichiren that creates the element too
EXACTLY MY POINT AND IT'S NOT EVEN RENGOKU BY HIMSELF THAT THIS IS PROVEN.
EXPLAIN THAT SO CALLED CREATOR

Same goes for tanjirou, rather than using actual water to re direct the attacks
He's using the wind created from the blade to redirect it
But I seriously can't explain rengoukus fire block
Probably just style, and that scene where he blocked probably lasted just 1-3 seconds, i mean akaza was floating
So that block just blocked akazas attack not by making a fire wall looking thing, just by normal blocking and the reason why it showed that is because of style and for us to better understand what happend it just showed that fire wall looking thing
I think the fire block could just be he blocked all of them at the same time I don’t know like you know how an anime the block a attack when they send multiple act them in like one swing it might’ve been something like that idk Don’t make sense how he blocked it I’m just trying to make sense of it myself
Don't forget that Rengoku went through a door without even moving it after talking to Tanjiro
You can't explain the Fire Block bcus he swung his sword 1 time and he blocked multiple hits from Akaza AFTER he already swung and he kept his arms in the air while the other attacks were coming at him

Not to mention Sun Breathing has an actual effect on demons causing them pain something no other breathing technique does
SUN BREATHING is the strongest breathing style for a reason their's no elements its just because of sun breathing
It's not the flames themselves that cause it. it's the sword itself changing it's color to red while using sun breathing. The red color transfers heat which mimics the sun's shine that's why it halts the demon's regeneration.
@@mysteryman9488 I find that to be incorrect as the blade didn’t turn red in entertainment district against Daki yet still interfered with regeneration

Plus if the effects aren't real, how would yoriichi have been able to scar muzan with sun breathing?

It’s fandom canon that they are real
That’s because the sword style are like this element to regular people like how yourichi looked like a spirte rather then a human while performing his techniques
I agree, people are thinking too much about it, elements coming from breathing different doesn't even make sense anyway.
Supposedly, these effects are just the wind or shockwaves with the elemental effects overlapping them, like One Piece but with extra flair. The only time these things are actually real are if blood demon arts are included with the attack.
Those Demons literally generate those elements & then use their Breathing Styles in unison.
Absolutely not. There's literally a thunder breathing form called distant thunder, that shoots lightning from the sword. Kaigaku did not invent a new form because he had demon power. The form actually exists and was just corrupted.

Tanjiro's sword burnt the spider demons threads. They weren't cut, they were burned. That fire was very real. Giyuu actually saw the butterflies from Shinobu's attacks. And the demon hit by her slashes also saw the butterflies.
The demon slayers could actually see the crescent moons in Kokushibo's slashes. These were actual breathing techniques, not blood demon arts. His demon art just regenerated his sword
