I love the rice growing segments. I had a brief period of agriculture in a previous life (apple orchard) so your tales bring back a lot of terrifying memories!

I agree the worst about 1/3 is the 70 yr olds who hold up a seat and literally play one hand an hr and drink coffee. I am glad your on retirement now either play or go home.
Day time OMC are everywhere past 6pm they go home.. 😂 A dealer once told me to show up at 11am on the last Friday of every month… I shit my pants when I did, the entire room filled with 70+ people playing poker… Last Friday they get there SS money and hit the casinos… very easy money actually because you can bluff them I actually felt bad because I could buy in for $300 and cash out first $800-$900 just by stealing small pot over 5-6 hours, tough grinding but consistent
There’s another variation of the old retired man. Has $1K in his pocket, but only buys in for $100 and just shoves all in preflop or post flop whenever he plays his hand for the hour.
No free parking definitely took a lot of steam out of the poker scene at Harvey's Tahoe. Sad times when Horizon and Lakeside closed and Montbleu renovating over to Bally's saw the end of even more fun games Stateline.
Wow, you have actually seen The Blues Brothers! That's one of my top ten movies of all time! On another note, great job once again; perhaps someday we'll get a WSOP Main Event vlog out of you, cough, ahem?
What mountain is that in the background of your farm? Funny, when I was a kid we used to gather crawfish in the edges of Sacramento rice fields (at least I think they were rice fields)
the point that you made @2:40 - if you play against many of the same guys, they may think you have a nitty image. Or it could be that everyone who plays before 2pm could be nits themselves. Also, if it's the case that you're mainly playing against nits, of all the improvements that you could make to your game, I feel like going for thin value is not as profitable as opposed to working on other aspects of your game like 3-betting in position more often against those with deeper stacks or including more bluffs in your range (i've noticed that all/most of your hands are value hand with very rare double or triple barrel bluffs).
I look forward to watching your content, (at 2:00 min mark) but it's a bit indicative of your game, when a you say a player thinks you are an 80 year old Nit, as you speak about having regrets on playing AK off from the button no less, unless you can go all in!! You play sometimes like you are afraid of losing your social security check! But with that being said, it's better to worry about money you could have won, than being too loose and crying over money you shouldn't have lost. Good luck cant wait for next week's video
@@NorCal_Poker 4th generation rice grower here, we have about 500 acres about 20 miles north of Capital casino. Rice looks good this year everywhere, but the price is falling apart.
Of course. Your just ran into the 1/5 times where a flush plays a hand this stupid. More times than not when they check the river they dont have a flush. So if you fixated on this particular hand sure you played it fine checking back just long term the thin value bet is better. ALSO seems insignificant but i like your 3 bet with kqo. Alot of people are missing those spots but they add a couple bb/hr to the win rate @NorCal_Poker
@@MacksBet28 you're talking theoretical poker. In practice, that does not work that way. 1) V could had a straight. 2) Opponent profile dependant: V could be trapping. Tricky players often do. 3) Opponent profile dependant: Some players are too scared to run into a higher flush (case in this hand) 4) Most of players fold their top pair...even 2 pairs on a flushy board. So, most of time you end up with nothing; except more risk to lose to a better hand. On the long run: it Is a losing strategy. In this particular hand, obviously, V was not afraid of flush on turn. So: he either had it, or he is bluffing. Either way, you end up with no win for your river bet. So: why betting if you can only lose! (this is not a. question).
