I asked you to say it once before but no reply, just checking to see if you are ready to say it yet. When I say Saquon...you say >>> Say Gone!! .....ready?........ Saquon!!
Tyler Warren punting was definitely a “what are we doing?” Moment, but honestly I would prefer to see allar taking the snaps all but maybe once or twice a game. We can easily get the ball to Warren in the flat and we have great running backs and qb. Not sure about all of the trick formations. We’re over thinking it
When Franklin's calling plays, we run on first down trying to go big on big behind backups lineman. Pass game gets conservative against a ball hawking defense playing the box. 1 for 11 third down conversion. Meanwhile Minnesota had the TE blocked inside zone and the intermediate in-cut from their veteran CAA transfer. Something happened after we got punched in the mouth with that reverse double flea. Finally started hitting the intermediate away taking advantage of Minnesota's lack of team speed and mobility. Think outside the box, and the playbook opened up. P.S. Ton of credit to Rulli.
What contributed to our loss to OSU cause of Franklin's penchant for high risk calls. He's always leaving points on the table and in a close game every field goal you skip to go on 4th down and don't make it hurts. We had 3 opportunities to put field goals on the board and we went for it. Had we scored those field goals we would have won the game.
I have questioned Franklin on some play calls in the past but that was amazing Saturday. That’s a game so many Penn State teams lose. I think back on Iowa in 08, Michigan 05, MSU 17. Way to find a to win a game
Remember, SEC coaches, fans, and college football beat writers always over-rate their teams to make their wins or losses look better. Huge win for Penn State Football, due to some gutsy offensive and special teams play call by Coach Franklin and staff. If Penn State beats Maryland will it face an SEC squad in Beaver Stadium?
I think the fact that Allar doesn't stretch the field, keeps the linebackers in the box..It shows up in our lackluster run game. Throw downfield sooner, we run for 100+ with our two backs.
And when it comes to Allar - Pribula played a half against Wis and one against Purdue. Had no problem finding receivers down field. Just saying. To your point, maybe its some WRs, but its def Allar being conservative.
The play calling for Allar is significantly different than for Pribula. And the reason is he has a far better arm and can generally deliver the ball with far more accuracy.
@ I’d just ask that you go back and watch the highlight reels especially from Wisconsin. Pribula was threading needles. And in the Purdue game he accurately hit his targets in stride but the targets had the dropsies. I specifically called out those 2 halves bc Pribula was the QB. We’re not talking the one off Pribula package where yes, you are correct - 90% run probability. If you still feel that way after watching those throws, fair enough.
Do you think anybody wants somebody to separate downfield more than Drew? You're living in a dream world if you think he doesn't. I don't want him throwing to ghosts.
@ my point exactly Rob. Drew wants his WRs open more than anyone else.

Not sure about your take on Tony Rojas. He was walled off, turned around, and ineffective on tackles on at least as many plays as he had tackles. PSU was once known as LBU but haven't had a playa live up to that moniker since Micah Parsons decided to abandon his teammates. LB play has been lacking except for King. It's the weak link on defense. These guys need to spend the entire off season learning how to tackle. Maybe have the entire LB room study film of Shane Conlan all next summer.
@@robsherrill8130 I definitely saw Rojas in a huddle with 5 other PSU defensive players being manhandled down field for an extra 5 yards after contact with both Mn rb's... at least 5 times. I wonder if Rojas got a 1/6 tackle on those plays in the first half?
It was Gus glazing Ohio State as always. He said that Ohio State dominated Penn State and Indiana the same. I have screenshots from messages. I was sending to everybody going off about that same thing. we average 5.1 yards per play against Ohio State, Indiana average 2.4 we lost by a touchdown. They lost by 23. Gus is just the most annoying announcer ever.
I miss the days when PSU offensive attitude was, we are going to run the ball down your throat just try to stop us. We have two of the better backs in the country and we only get 10 yards the first half. That's not going to cut it going into a playoff.
Warren has played every position on offense this year except place kick and hold for a kick. Not sure if he's lined up in a tackle or gaurd position--but he has played every other offensive position. Is this a record of some kind? May be...
Great info as always. I believe that the playoff committee puts too much emphasis on so-called quality wins and not enough on bad losses. Say a top 15 team losing to a team, that is .500 or less. As for Penn State, we will get a home playoff game, we will Not be playing for the Big 10 championship. I truly believe we can win 2 playoff games. After that, it's a crapshoot.
Landon, the defense struggled to stop the Gophers on 3rd down, even when they had them in 3rd and long. By contrast, PSU struggled on 3rd down. That was very discouraging and makes it seem like PSU will be a 1 and done team in the playoffs. Yes, I agree on every play they held Carter. Sometimes it was basically a wrestling take down, other times they would drape themselves on Carter's back EDIT: if they beat Maryland it's 10/10 they host a playoff game In that game they will likely play Tennessee and struggle.
You can only go so far with gimmicks and a One Dimensional Offense consisting of the QB & TE. I've been saying this since 1999-- Penn State will never be an Elite Team again until they develop a Dominating O-LINE.
Landon - where’s the Penn State butter bro? I’ve wondered if theres an element of NIL now where pundits are ‘supported’ with a quiet understanding of favorable coverage. Penn State is the least talked about team in the top 10 and when they are talked about its 1) Franklin can’t beat OSU (they usually throw in Mich although not true) and 2) PSU hasn’t played anyone and shouldn’t be in the playoffs. Outside that its crickets.
agreed #52's block forced three gophers off Reynolds. at some of those other universities, that has to be two or three stickers./special teams has been shaky all year./ wide rec'v's haven't really impressed me with reliability./ again, o line is not bigger or faster than the other side for the last few years--even with the portal./ re-carter. agreed!/re-rojas, time for Conlan or posz or Arrington to "show" up and help?/still unconvinced on this team. this far in the season and we've not put four quarters on both side of the ball and special teams. we manage by the skin of our teeth, but... wide red'v's. o line just not blowing d line three yards deep. step down from Manny Diaz's defense. one step forward, one step back, one step sideways.
I have a question that I hope someone can give me an answer to. It's about the blocked extra point. I know for a fact that "leaping" is a penalty in the NFL but don't know if it is the same in college football. You can clearly see the MN player on the right side of the formation not only leap over the two offensive players but actually has his knee/leg on one of their backs as he goes over them. If this is also a penalty in college then why wasn't it called. If that were the case and a penalty was called, then I guess that that would be at least a 5 yard penalty closer to the goal post.
So yes it’s a bit different. You can use leveraging/leaping in CFB as long as you don’t do it from a distance (so you can’t run and jump and spring off someone) but if you are pressed on the line of scrimmage and try to push off someone, that is legal
@@LandonTengwall58 Thanks! I wasn't sure what the rule was because the guy was clearly using his knee on the Penn State's offensive linemen's back to go over him.
Well, the OSU vs PSU game wasn't a blowout but the score was alot closer than what the play on the field indicated. OSU is going to put it to Ore in the Big 10 champeenship game and go on to win it all. PSU isn't as close as you think they are imo. Just sayin. They basically survived on sheeeer guts this year. We'll see if that carries them to the final 4. I doubt it, but we'll see.

Landon, 😢i watch most of these sites for psu and i think you do maybe the best job of all of them. Keep it ip!
Thank you!
Great job! Good film analysis done from a player’s perspective. Great combination! 👍👍
Much appreciated!
Luke has got some wheels too. He's going to be fun to watch in the future.
Easily the most impressive TE on the roster behind TW.
I wonder if they will use Reynolds next year like they use Warren now
Penn State is set at TE for a while. Luke will be a star. Can’t count out Rapp. That kid can play.
We are definitely turning into tight end U, as well as Linebacker U!!!!! WE ARE

I started out a fan but this year has really made me hate Fox all around

Playoff confidence level = 7. Offensive line and base defense are concerns. Lots of positives though!

What’s going on with the O-line? I’m more concerned about that unit than I am about the receivers, and that’s saying a lot.
the Oline's issues will be covered heavily in the film breakdown tomorrow!

We have won the games that we needed to win while others have lost the same games that’s why we’re fourth and they are not
Oh yeah I caught then of the ole miss florida game and they were just penn st hating
SEC fears Beaver Stadium
I think Penn State can win the National Championship, ive watched all these teams, there are good teams, but i think we can beat anyone this year
Where was Julian Fleming during the game, did he not make the trip
