Interesting idea for a show, but I think the money was probably a bit low. Even 500 pounds/answer would allow a more substantial prize. An interesting twist might have been having a different egghead rotating onto the show for each episode
I like this format too. There were 30 episodes in the series. I agree, having a different egghead rotating on the show for each episode would improve the show a bit better.
This show has some similarities to The Chase. The biggest example is that the final round is almost like the Final Chase in reverse, meaning that rather than the contestants answering first and then CJ trying to catch the contestants within a time limit, CJ answers ten questions first and then the contestants have to try and catch him by answering more questions than him before they lose all their lives.
CJ is THE WEAKEST LINK of The Eggheads, and even when he did win the BAD LOSERS Edition of The Weakest Link, the Prize Money was not worth the effort at all.
True, if you take a look at Pointless, the price money is even lower, but on the other hand, the contenstants are sure to win some money every game. This however, is a bit ridiculous. Anyway, how come CJ is suddenly so harsh? I mean in the original show, he was very friendly and always smiling. Now he appears to be this tough I-know-it-all type..
You do know its all an act for the camera, he's actually a really nice guy in real life, and personally I think Judith is the weakest egghead, her catchphrase on the show is "I have absolutely no idea".
Only CJ featured on this show because he wanted to prove he was an Egghead, after he left the show in 2012 to pursue an acting career. It failed, so he wanted to return in style.
I think at that time CJ was the one who had the attitude needed for this format, if they were to bring it back I think the new Egghead Steve would be the one who with the attitude for it.
An ugly spectacle of human arrogance and a poor quiz format as well. CJ was the weakest and poorest sport on Eggheads and this "thing" only confirms it. Poor show, Joe!
Awful format with a truly unlikeable character. He was never formidable on Eggheads. He was one of the weakest. I suppose they had to put him on this as most of the others would have been unbeatable. CJ however is anything but.
Thanks so much for posting this - wanted to see what the new show was like!
This show was basically Eggheads trying to be the Chase.
As a qualified nurse.........emmm.....I don’t know
CJ created a persona to be hated.......good actor me thinks
He's not a good actor, he's unemployed and has never had any serious acting roles. His persona is just him - he is just a smug prick.

The money is low because it's a BBC show, so tax-payer funded. They don't allow that fact to keep presenters' wages low, of course.

Cj answer very well
not heard of this before.
Formidable. 😂
I would love to see Pat Gibson do this, the challengers would not stand a chance

@@willgisby4248 I say he & Judith were about the same, they both had subjects they were great at & others they were not so great at

It's a pretty good show, but the money gain is...very little. I mean, I know it's still money, but not even 5.000 £ ? It's quite low for a game show.

foxdk I'm sorry, I meant 'The Weakest Link', and not Pointless.

Not really.

not a patch on the original eggheads
CJ is the weakest of the Egg heads without a doubt.
Totally agree. But he thinks he's wonderful. He was much more arrogant on this show than on Eggheads.

I've just been told cj is in prison for murdering someone is that true
Chris by a mile
@Wubba Wubba no, he said in his autobiography that he was almost sure that he had killed the person.
Nice
Game Show Garbage brought me here. "CJ vs. the U.K."
CJ thinks remembering things = intelligent, and you should act as smug as possible about it
It's a persona
That is partly what makes you intelligent.
CJ was always the worst egg and now he is a failed actor in Australia going under a fake name.
no wonder it didnt last long
Got the pronunciation of dauphin well wrong !
Why can't they do one of Chris Kevin or Barry

The ugly set is annoying me the most.
