I am on day 2 post op and this is super helpful. I feel like I am not alone. They were going to have me come in 10 days after my surgery and I said NO! They are bringing me in next week. I thought this was way too long for them to not look at it. Your vids help!!! I am in PAIN today, but I know it will be worth it.
Hi thanks for your video.. I’m getting bunion operation soon on both feet 👣 I live alone in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 with nobody to help me-that’s a big concern for me!! can’t drive my Manuel car either..Not looking forward to this operation as you can’t move around and be bed ridden… I don’t know how I will Cope to be honest…😔😩
Hi I'm in the same situation (however not both feet 👣👣 could you just have one foot done at a time?) My family are overseas and l live on my own. So called friends 👭 state they are too busy to help out ☹️ so my freezer is stocked with ready meals 🍕🍲🍝 so l can just pop in the microwave. I also have 2 indoor very needy cats 🐈🐈 so l have had to pay for a cat sitter to feed and change their litter trays twice a day. I have packs of baby wet wipes 👶 because its going to be difficult for me to climb into the bath 🛀 to use the shower🚿 I have lots of DVDs 📺 and Books 📚 to read and lots and lots of chocolate 🍫🍫🍫 Wishing you a speedy recovery 🤗

Hi thank you for your video l have to have bunion surgery soon and I'm on my own without anyone to help me I'm so worried l won't be able to cope l also have 2 indoor cats to look after HELP 😱😱😱
Hi there, do you have a friend that comes by once in a while and check on you to make sure your cats have food and fresh water. Yes i know what your going through. I had to have my friend take out recycle garbage it got stacked up for 2 weeks my son is very busy at work he goes home eats sleeps goes to work. Just an idea have everything in your room have lots of fruit on a tv tray with lots of fuit.
I’m planning on getting the same surgery soon and am very nervous. Any tips for staying calm before your surgery also do you have to get undressed and just wear the gown? I wasn’t sure since it’s just a foot operation. Thanks for sharing your experience ❤
Hi there! Yes, you fully undress, then wear a surgery gown. I know how anxious it feels prior the surgery. I think you should just distract yourself by doing things that you like and focus on the present. It is easier said than done, but hopefully that works and at least helps you. I really didn't feel anxious until the day of my surgery, but I think that feeling is normal for any person that will undergo any type of surgery. I will keep you in my thoughts and I hope all goes well with your surgery.
Absolutely no bacteria can enter the super-sterile operating room, where many patients will be moved in and out all day long. Your doctor should give you a prescription for an iodine-based soap that you use to thoroughly wash your hair and body the night before, or morning of the surgery. Don't wear any nail polish (since they need to see your finger and toenails because if they turn blue, you're not getting enough oxygen.) Also, you can't eat or drink anything from the night before and you can't chew gum or smoke cigarettes the day of the surgery (activates the salivary glands) to help prevent vomiting while under the anesthsia. My clinic gave me paper underwear to wear under the gown as well as a shower cap and paper foot coverings. There is a locker to store your clothes and purse but don't wear any jewellry since you have to immediately take it off and why risk having your things stolen? Just carry your insurance information, medical dossier and phone.
Thank you for this info. I have to have this surgery soon. You are a sweetheart for sharing. Ty❤❤❤

What pain meds were you given (since they didn't really help) and why wouldn't he give you something better?
Did you have lapiplasty? I am scheduled for lapiplasty onmy right foot in November. I am 78 years old. I appreciate your sharing your experience.
