Hey! Thank you so much 😊🙏 I really appreciate you taking the time to listen to my album. The drums are made of multiple samples, some made by me and others used in combination with different libraries, lots of layers there.
Sounds good, but framed as an alternative to a Nord Stage is probably not the best way to pitch this synth. As a former Nord owner, right off the bat the Arturia synth is missing drawbars and Many of the reasons folks go for Nord synths is their faithfulness to electro mechanic pianos, and analog synths. The better (less expensive) alternative for me was the Kurtzweil PC4. I've recorded and gigged with it for 3yrs now and am still enjoying taking deep dives to learn more about its possibilities. My only concern is that for a piece of hardware that's primarily designed to take your sounds onto stage ... all the buttons and dials are small and the screen is tiny and the grey on white lettering doesn't help either ... This is really going to be a problem for low lighting/ live situations (you want large, clearly labelled buttons and big, clear screens) ... could be a deal breaker for a lot of people as it undermines the whole point of the synth. Otherwise it looks brilliant.
Arturia is great in many ways, but they need to start making the hardware aspects of their synthesizers and midi controllers more durable so they can be played many times befor needing maintenance 😢
The difference is that ANY Nord allows you to change values of the presets in any way you like because they're real synths and you own the hardware. When you buy the Arturia, you DON'T OWN the presets, you have to buy ALL THE ARTURIA PLUGINS if you ever want to change anything in the presets. The way the Arturia works is like a SAMPLER, a one trick pony, it's NOT EVEN CLOSE to a Nord. Even the Nord Drum 3P can do more and has a better user interface.
This thing works heavily on there modeling VST so technicly it's more a Jupiter XM cross nord sampler in the same box, about the durability they shoud seriously took that in consideration, i have a nord electro 5D and most of those sweedish keyboard are indestructible and verry reliable on stage, about Arturia i have already trouble with the power unit of there sound card and also a pitch weel problem on there master keyboard, the software is ok the hardware not so reliable.
It is a "Rompler". Even in the first Rompler, the "M1" you were able to, with "Menu-Dive" get to some serious stuff. But, nobody did. So, therefore these buffoons made the new one. They had an agreement with Korg a while ago already, when they released the MS20, with the logo of Korg on it. And, these new "Augmented Synths" from Arturia have the similar simple buttons, which are available as the only buttons on this hardware. But this piece is still stuck with Lab9. There in Grenoble, Chernoble, somebody was hitting the roof with ideas apparently some years ago. Why this abomination was now put into production, nobody knows. For life usage, I can still use my DX11 to control my lapdog to make all these sounds. What sounds to tweak in a live performance? Not many, but DX11 delivers. And it has a much better keybed. Although not the best, like the DX7. DX7 was metal contacts, DX11 had some plastic strips loaded with graphite stuff for every octave. Still, I do not know, how that was working. Later good ones had these Bubble contacts made by Fatar in Italy. They worked very well, more precise on attack velocity, but wilted like a used condom after 15 years. Rubber is rubber is rubber, it was not designed to be forever. Or found in the jungle for that purpose. Do I disgress? Anyway, ok, Astrolab is not on my immediate want. Never will be. I even think that Grenoble has a problem now. I wish they don't, because they do make outstanding stuff. On Hardware as well. So, this is extremely disappointing. The points going into a black hole by this time.

What about another midi-controller (faders and/or knobs) on the empty space on the board instead of an iPad?
