I agree with you B- apres moi is so completely musical- it's poetry to music. I think she's evolved into a real musicians' muscian. She's uniquely brilliant.
Regina is just -- Great! Im now an addicted follower of her music! woo, this would have to be one of my faves. I could imagine a clip to this song, black and white film. Regina in a dimly lit room, with silk curtains flowing in to a light breeze and a story of an unhappy couple unfolds.
she was the first artist i seen at glastonbury this year, i had never heard of her before but what a joy to the musical pallet and a great start to the weekend
I'm a little biased of course, but by far on the of the best performance I witnessed while I was at Bonnaroo. She was stage left during the Franz show, she was diggin' it! Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips asked her before thier set to dance on stage, too bad she didn't, I'd have loved that for sure!
Actually they cheered really loud you just cant hear it because the only way you can get sound from the web cast is what is being projected into the Mic.
well I'm not sure about you, but at least 600 of those thousands of views of this video were me..lol SUCH a beautiful song, and ridiculously amazing singer! :)
2:19 Black spring! Pick up your pen, and weeping, Of February, in sobs and ink, Write poems, while the slush in thunder Is burning in the black of spring.
Pasternak is awesome! I have to memorize his poems a lot in Russian School. I love Russians, maybe it's because I am one... lol, nevermind, but i still love pasternak!
The mechanics of this piano is clearly not up to the task, or it is an artifact of the compression but there seems to be a lack of expression one can hear in the normal variations that the analog version of a piano can add. I can't help but love this particular recording of this song though as it has an emotionality that blasts through all the problems. Wow, when Regina sings in Russian I just get chills. Amazing each and every time I listen to it.
Yeah I agree she needs way more applause, I think that is a problem with playing (sometimes) in the us, especially in the south like this (tennessee, if you consider that the south). possibly they don't really appreciate this cross cultural music. maybe?
Not to be a stickler, but it's not even certain that Madame de Pompadour herself said "après moi, le déluge". It is attributed to both Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour, but that doesn't mean she or he actually said it. That being said, the person who attributed it to Louis XV wasn't being misleading. Also, it's Madame, not Madam. And "you're", not "your". So, if you don't know what you're talking about, please don't say misleading (or grammatically incorrect) things.
They moved to the US just because the Soviet Union was crashin down and people had nothing to support themselves. Luckily, Regina's family could leave for America and make their lives better. Every emmigrant can understand what I mean. She's a Bronx girl for sure, but I hope there is something left russian in her =))
Regina is just -- Great! Im now an addicted follower of her music! woo, this would have to be one of my faves. I could imagine a clip to this song, black and white film. Regina in a fimly lit room, with silk curtains flowing in to a light breeze and a story of an unhappy couple unfolds.
This is the best live version of this song I've seen yet. I'll repeat it; amazing.

I never heard of her before Bonnaroo and became an immediate fan!
Regina's just so beautifully unique. I love her. Unconditionally.

she was the first artist i seen at glastonbury this year, i had never heard of her before but what a joy to the musical pallet and a great start to the weekend
no kidding. i hadn't listened to a whole lot of her stuff before yesterday, but i'm pretty sure i'm in love with her now.

My tears ´re falling!
She has! Many times! I've seen her live in Toronto.
I love the russian part. The words are really pretty.
Actually they cheered really loud you just cant hear it because the only way you can get sound from the web cast is what is being projected into the Mic.
her singing can be kind of weird, but the actual words and music is beautiful and the best!
zLilypad234 that 'weird' made her unique. And being unique made her beautiful, hot and sassy! 😍😍😍
well I'm not sure about you, but at least 600 of those thousands of views of this video were me..lol

It's verse "February.Get ink, shed tears" of poet Boris Pasternak.
Holy Fucking Shit that is ill!!! I havn't heard this version before, at the end I was like whaaaaa?!?!
I guess your right. I haven't thought of it that way. :)
I'm in love. :)
How can anyone say her music has gone downhill when they hear this song? Apres Moi is the shit!
@zLilypad234 I think the weird is what makes her the best.
Thankyou for translation

means: after me (comes) the flood, just like she sings :)
Февраль. Достать чернил и плакать! Писать о феврале навзрыд, Пока грохочущая слякоть Весною черною горит.
Well said! :)

I like the full band version.
mi viene da piangere
I'm totally in that video
no, Thank you Regina
@rising101 What you said was almost as beautiful as the poem itself.
Its the same thing with Fiona Apple.
I like the liveversion of her songs more than the recorded ones.
you both have to go through me
goal: be regina by age 20.

it's a poem by famous russian poet))
what is she saying in russian?
@thegreatpie Does it burn when you feel?
Спасибо!
Can you write out the original Russian lyrics (in Cyrillic)? Русский - Кириллица
omg, i know! apres moi and field below are SO MUCH better live

sunnytsofiya there is! Actually, she still speaks Russian and she loves Russian culture. You can still actually hear her Russian accent. 😍
It's Russian. I think it's from a poem.
i love uh-merica but where she goes UH-merica, its hurting to my ears. terrible bit in a lovely song.
Yeah, but nicki minaj and the bieb make me loath mankind if thats the best music has to offer this generation.
lol. Be afraid of the lame, they'll inherit your legs. Why does she keep going 'ugh', though.??
lol,
She is copying Bjork
Wonderful song though.
