I know Dan Simmons said he wrote the Joe Kurtz books as a palette cleanser, but I unapologetically love all 3 of them. And the Bryne & Balzano series is absolutely top-notch. All 9 books are 10/10
It's because of your recommendations that I am hooked on Robert Crais's Cole & Pike books and Robert B Parker's Spencer series, I love them and would like to say Thanks very much 👍.
My March TBR: «Brother Red» by Adrian Selby (Grimdark Fantasy, standalone «midquel» to «Snakewood» & «The Winter Road», had planned to do it last year, but had to push it back) «Judas Blossom» by Stephen Aryan (Fantasy inspired by the Mongol Conquest of Persia, same as «Brother Red» pushed over from last year) I will also start on the «City of Victory» Trilogy by Adrian Goldsworthy (Historical Military Fiction set during Emperor Trajan’s Campaigns) and the «Lyonesse» Trilogy by Jack Vance ((Pre-)Arthurian Fantasy). My Spring MBR: «After Rome» by Morgan Llywelyn (Historial Fiction set after the Roman Empire’s Withdrawal from Britain) «Ash: A Secret History» by Mary Gentle (Alt-Historical Military Fiction inspired by the Mercenary Wars of the Renaissance) «Idoru» by William Gibson (Cyberpunk) «Kings of the Wyld» by Nicholas Eames (Fantasy Humor) Might also get my hands on «Memory, Sorrow & Thorn»,«Sun Eater» and/or the «Second Apocalypse» series by R. Scott Bakker this spring!
This is my list: 1. Surprise, Kill, Vanish, Annie Jacobson. 2. Big Boy Rules, Steve Fainaru 3. The Pentagon’s Brain, Annie Jacobson. 4. The Unit, Adam Gamal. 5. On Killing, Dave Grossman. 6. Rise and Kill First, Ronen Bergman. 7. Area 51, Annie Jacobson 8. Vengeance, George Jonas. 9. Legacy of Ashes, Tim Weiner 10. Gideon’s Spies, Gordon Thomas 11. Immediate Action, Andy McNab 12. Beruit, Jack Carr
I had a similar reaction to Cormac McCarthy. I started chapter 1 of "The Road" got a few pages in, set it aside and have not been tempted to pick it back up since.
Dang, Brian. I see the audiobooks are still up. I'd hoped they'd be gone now with our efforts of the report. I hope YT does the right thing, even if it's not in their nature.
Recently I read All the Pretty Horses. There is not as much literary prose as some of his novels. It is a really good Western. Exceptional really. The next two in the series will need all your courage. There is a lot of Spanish in them. They are a lot harder to read.
Brian I might have told several times already that I am loving Shauna Lawless’s Gael Song books, historical fantasy 1000 AD Ireland with real Kings, Vikings & magical tribes. You should pick up the 2 books and novella coming out next week.
You're not reading enough Horror these days Brian. I never hear you talk about Richard Laymon, James Herbert, Graham Masterton, writers like that, sorry for me being a negative Pr*ck, Cool video 👍
I always start with a TBR but usually just pick up whatever book catches my eye in my bedroom or at the library.

Reading Pawn of Prophecy 😂Silk is my Man I’m really enjoying it thanks for introducing me to the series also picked up The Sword of Shannara!
I love Cormac McCarthy, the guy's an amazing author.

Speaking of mysteries, 'Troubled Blood' by Robert Galbraith is excellent 👼

Would wish that you started reading Andrew Vacchss’ Burke series and Derek Raymond’s five Factory novels!

Loved the dialog in the Matthew Scudder movie 8 Million Ways to Die with Jeff Bridges and Rosanna Arquette. Oliver Stone co-wrote it.
Just finished reading The Wind Through The Keyhole didn't care for it. Bout to start Cell
Nice!
100% Feptember should be a month.
