This is so exciting - I've been learning with the BSL online course, practising the signs with friends, but it's not the same as a proper conversation. This is the first time I've watched someone sign BSL in real sentences and understood it! I'm smiling so much right now, thank you for making this video! 😊😊
That’s brilliant, I am really pleased it’s helpful 😃. My playlist may help you, it’s the new learner one. There’s lots of videos on there. If there’s something specific you wanted to see I’m always open to suggestions. Thank you Madeleine.
Thank you for this!!! During lockdown, I’ve decided I wanted to really learn BSL, I find it so beautiful and fascinating.
Does it matter what order you say sentences in?
That's great. Yes BSL has a different structure to English, for example, "name me or your name what.' Also it's very visual. BSL signs in English word order is called Sign Supported English. Wish you all the best with your learning.
@@bsllearningwithmel4459 Thank you for the advice!! I watched your other videos to help me understand the order more so thank youuuuu
Tabbs you’re welcome
I noticed your greetings like "Good Morning" were signed "Morning good", can you sign either way around?
Ethan Cox Hi Ethan, well spotted. Yes you can.
@@bsllearningwithmel4459 Thanks for the quick reply :)
This is great, thank you so much. I'm about 5 classes in to level 1 BSL, and I'm absolutely loving it. Like spoken language, I find the receptive side more challenging than the speaking/signing side. Clear, helpful videos like these are really beneficial to my practice.
thank you for practical easy to follow teaching, keep up the good work
Thank you Kuldip 😄
Another lovely, clear and easy to follow lesson - Thank you
these are so helpful, thank you for creating them!!
thank you for this melanie!
Hi Niamh, I really appreciate it, thank you.
Hello!
Thank you for this and all of your other brilliant videos :)
I have a question for you or any other BSL users:
I noticed that 'My name is x' in English = 'Name I x' in BSL, ['Name' goes first]
However, 'My brother's name is x' in English = 'My Brother Name x' in BSL in this video.
Is this evidence of a pattern? (ie. does syntax vary when talking about someone else as opposed to talking about yourself?)
Thank you
Ur a legend thank you so much
Flamed Gamer Definitely not a legend 😃but they you very much. I hope the videos are helpful.
Excellent indexed
Kuldip Kauldar Thank you kuldip.
I really enjoyed that. Thankyou. x
Thankyou so much 😊
How do we get the subtitles up to see if we understood the signs right? Thanks.
Hi Rohini, at the bottom of the screen on the right hand side there is the letters CC, just press that and the subtitles should come up. All the best 😃
Hi Mel, you're one of the best you tube tutors out there, I'm trying to self teach the basics and your videos have been so helpful, please keep them coming 👍 x
